Isabella's - Frederick
We didn’t realize it was happy hour & very loud but, the manager was great at accommodating us with a much quieter table.
Very yummy but loud really awesome selection of totally delicious food highly recommend just be prepared for the noise level
Best wait staff
Was disappointed this time as I was the previous visit three weeks before. Have been going here for years but unfortunately the prices continue to increase as the amount of food continue to decrease, even for tapas. Also the adjacent table was loud and annoying which did not enhance the experience. Wanted to try them one last time to make sure I did not just over react the last time. Sadly I will likely not be returning.
I always enjoy tapas!
Didn’t enjoy sitting at a table in the window area with passerby’s staring at what we were eating.
The risotto was delicious! The bread with herbed olive oil was delivered good! While the tuna tartar was goid, it would have been better if the tuna had been presented in smaller pieces. Good wines at reasonable prices, too.
Great place for a girls night out! Our original plans for the evening changed, and so we arrived an hour and half before our reservation time—the hostess team quickly accommodated us, as an earlier reservation had just canceled. Our waitress (Dawn) was AMAZING and definitely set the tone for our entire experience! :)
Great restaurant in downtown Frederick. I have gone for date night and also with large groups. I have yet to be disappointed.
Great as usual but a few of our favorite dishes weren’t quite as perfect as usual. Service was outstanding.
We’ve tried other places in the area, but the food and price of Isabella’s keeps us coming back.
I took my two granddaughters for a Saturday Brunch to start our Special Day together. The Food was very good. My only criticism would have to be the home fries. I'm sort of a potato snob, so when I saw little cold pieces of overcooked potato on my plate, It was disappointing. I think sometimes the sides are just as important as the main course. But having said that, I will definitely be going back, I love this place and the Asparagus Fries are the bomb!!!
Food and service were very good. Next time I’m going to try the Paella. Definitely will return.
The bright lighting and tight tables in the secondary dining space on NYE diminished the romantic ambiance quite a bit. Nevertheless, the food was fantastic and service was very friendly.
Great food and service on a busy NYE! I would suggest making reservations on weekends. Never leave without having the asparagus tapa.
I have been here twice along with wife and ordered 12 different tapas and all were excellent
I was disappointed that dispite the fact I made a reservation we in advance we were not seated in the main room. The back room is not as nice
Loved everything about this restaurant start to finish! Salads were great, asparagus frites amazing, vegetable dinner delicious. Everyone loved what they had including lentil soup, chicken skewers, short ribs and sausage.
Too full for dessert, but if we had, probably great!
We will be back!
The first time I ate at Isabellas it was awesome. This time I was disappointed. The menu did not have a lot of the items that I wanted to eat again. And the waiter was more focused on his big tables then on my table which only had two people.
Excellent tapas selection - even the picky eaters enjoyed it!
Christmas Eve Dinner
Great food, absolutely fantastic and delicious, wonderful service.
Our reservation was for 6 people at noon but we were 7 and did not arrive together. Both of those mistakes are on us completely. But the host was extremely put out and unwilling to help until we finally offered to dine somewhere else. That’s when they put an extra chair at the end of the table and everything was fine.
We were also not given brunch menus, only the standard ones and one brunch special and one drinks menu. They make a big deal of saying their menu changes daily so we thought the paper menu of specials was all they were offering until all of the other tables around us started getting food and drink that weren’t options on the large laminated menu we’d been given. At that point we’d already ordered but not the food we had originally wanted.
More expensive than one of our regular tapas places for the quantity with each dish. However, the quality was definitely a step up. Inteeesting cocktails and tapas specials will definitely bring me back!
First time dining there, we were both very impressed. GREAT food, excellent service.
We were tgere during annual Frederick City pub craw, other than noise everything was very nice. Great service.
The food is excellent. I had the paella and it was very authentic. I’ve had paella all over the Iberian peninsula including the home of paella, Valencia, and the paella at Isabellas’s rivals theirs. The tapas are delicious too.
I absolutely love this place. Unique and delicious food. Great atmosphere. Bring a friend or make it a family gathering. Something for everyone in the heart downtown Frederick.
I always bring a new friend to dine at Isabella’s! She loved it as much as I !
Get the steamed mussels, they're amazing, but literally everything we ordered was wonderful
The food was excellent, as always at Isabella's. The maitre d' saved me: There were three in our party, but I had made reservations for only two. After only a brief wait, he found a table for us even though they were very crowded. The waiter was very good. My only negative comment is that the restaurant is VERY LOUD! It was difficult to hear what my fellow diners were saying.
Joe our waiter was awesome and as our first time there really loved all his suggestions. The Fried Asparagus is unbelievable!!! The loaded bloody mary wirh bacon was divine!!!!
Six of us (visiting for lunch) agreed that Isabella’s was a first-class venue and all would unhesitatingly return.
Celebrating 2 December birthdays
Host seated us by fireplace for lower noise level and warmth!
I know the restaurant has been there for quite some time and have always heard that it's good. I finally got to try it. I was pleasantly surprised and definitely think it's the best tapas I've ever had! The food was fantastic and they don't skimp on the size of the dishes served. Our waiter and the runners were pleasant and quick and the bartender was happy to make me a mocktail by request. Prices are just right and the atomosphere is great. I will say they could use an update to the look inside, but overall, I would absolutely go back!
One soup was so salty as to be inedible.
Gazpacho was "bright" with garlic and red bell pepper - delicious.
Medium-well steak was dry and tough. Medium-rare steak was a wee bit chewy.
Breaded fried asparagus was tasty in a unique fluted glass presentation.
Juice/gravy served on side a good idea.
Green beans not offensive.
Server was intrusive, solicitous, presumptuous, and verbose. A bit hasty, perhaps? Not helpful with ordering. Was not able to "read" the table.
Reserved table was available.
Food came from kitchen in a short-to-reasonable amount of time.
Not sure what to expect when ordering dinner in Frederick at 9:30 pm on a Friday night. Did I get the "B" team?
Ashley waited on us again & she is just amazing! We love ladies lunch out @ Isabellas!
We decided to have our Thanksgiving celebration with our daughter on Wednesday night. What fun! New foods to try that were delicious. Impeccable service. We did not feel hurried so we could really enjoy our food and conversation. Great time!
It used to be a real treat to go to Isabella’s. I’m not sure if the ownership has changed since my last visit, but the cooking was noticeably reduced in quality from what it used to be. The menu is now less varied. The range of tapas is more limited and less adventurous. I was especially disillusioned by the gambas pil pil which should be sizzling hot and garlicky but tasted instead like plain steamed shrimp in oily sauce.
The service, on the other hand, was great and very friendly.
While waiting for our table, there was some confusion at the bar with the people there before us which was a bit disruptive to the service we received, and the hostess wasn’t that professional, but once we were seated, our server did a nice job and the food was very good. Four of us split a variety of tapas and enjoyed each of them.
