Isabella's - Frederick
Saturday: Brunch 8am-3pm, Tapas 11:00am-11:pm
Sunday: Brunch 8am-3pm, Tapas 11:00am-8:00pm
The service was great. The food was delicious but not enough! They took the words small plates way too literally. Too expensive for the quantity. We left hungry and went across the street for a meal.
Always great food and service but so loud and we were even in the back room. The prices tend to be a little high.
We made reservations thru Open Table...a lot if confusion on arrival. we were seated, had $85. worth of tapas. After we left I noted that they had cancelled my reservation on Open Table??????I called and was assured it would be fixed...it was not. I have called and left message, I have e-mailed...no response. Open Table is a point bad d and I guess Isabella's is trying to avoid giving my points which build toward discount.
Food and service are excellent. Its a bit pricey for tapas. Some are $19 for two bites of food. Count on 3-4 tapas per person if you're hungry. $100 for dinner for two with no alcohol or dessert. Would recommend if value to portion size is not a concern.
There's nothing quite like this in Frederick. Terrific tapas menu that itself creates a social and unique occasion. Tapas specials are especially interesting along with the staples. Good short beer selection and cocktails were more interesting this time too. OpenTable reservation was perfect and honored the instant we walked in on a busy Saturday night.
Food was not the quality as had been before. Very disappointed to say the least.
Overall very good. Enjoyed the Tapis dishes that we shared.
Great food and service at a reasonable price. Server kept the food coming and my water glass filled. Who could ask for more?
Tapas continue to get smaller such as the chorizo, black rice. Last night the chorizo was dry and the micro-mini paella was burned. Used to be my favorite place...
your server did not take care of her customers equally. While she talked with some of them, my wife and I were waiting for everything including water. Not even a proper greeting came out of her mouth. The check was not expensive, but it was cheap neither. At the time of the test she just smiled and fake her attitude, honestly I am not stupid, and I know that the job is hard but the key of a great experience in a restaurant is not just the typing time. Terrible, the food was good probably the kitchen team care, but the service went down with that kind of servers.
Great tapas place. The two of us ordered 8 plates and a carafe of red sangria. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious! The server was on point, personable, and not too attentive and explained how everything works very well. It was a 40 minute drive for us from Loudoun County but we'll definitely be back.
New customers and will definitely be back - very nice, enjoyable. Plus
lovely and energenic city right outside location.
We’ve been here twice and we just love it! The paella is awesome, but then again so is everything else.
Isabella's is a favorite "date" for my wife and me. The Tapas are always excellent, and they have great gazpacho soup. The Brussels sprouts tapas are one of our favorites. Service can be a little slow when they are busy, but still reasonable.
Always a great specials and service.
Very popular with our friends, who rate this as one of the best. We like it very much, but prefer Indian Cuisine as a normal meal.
Expert and friendly server (Joe) helped us through the many choices for an excellent meal. Portions generous for tapas to share.
Amazing Tapas!!! Service was great...fun ordering all kinds of tapas with waiters help. I'm gluten free and it was easy to find lots of yummy things.
Service was wonderful; food was amazing!! Will definitely be visiting this spot again.
This was our second time at Isabella's and it was just as good as our first time.
This is the second time we have dined at Isabella's and both visits were great! We ordered a bunch of tapas including potatas bravas, chorizo, pollo with artichoke, sauteed spinach with raisins, and bread with ham and tomatoes. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was Molly, who was efficient and friendly. Our whole dining experience lasted about a half hour. We were happy and satisfied. If you are in the mood for tapas, don't hesitate to try it!
Awful drinks and forgetful servers.... if not for the talent of live band playing nearby we would have left. We at least got to sit outside and listen to great music while waiting, and waiting, and waiting for service.
We enjoyed the food and service at Isabella’s! Outside seating was perfect.
Amazing prices, great food, hilarious attentive server. No complaints! We will definitely return
Excellent service with excellent food!
I love this place will definitely go back. The food is so good and it’s great for people with gluten allergies. High quality food for sure.
Our favorite restaurant in Frederick never disappoints!
I was here visiting my sister and husband. They recommended it from a previous experience as I wanted to go to someplace for brunch after church. Excellent choice and I would come back in a heartbeat. Kudo’s to the chef!!!!
Of our party of five I was the only first-timer to the restaurant. We were greeted with a warm smile from the greeter and was escorted to our table. When I asked for a larger table to accommodate our guests it was handled in a easygoing manner. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and patiently explained the types of food options, how best to order to assure getting all the food prepared at the same time. The food was prepared beautifully. The soup I had was delicious although the green sprigs added I would have preferred chopped up for ease of eating. The meatball tapas was exceptional and flavorful. The chicken tapas I found to overdone to enjoy although the tomato sauce was delicious. The desserts were to die for.
We had to ask that the overhead fan be turned off as it was making it too cold to be comfortable. It was attended to with effeciency and happily.
Other than the higher than usual noise level, we were seated just below the raised front of the restaurant, and found it difficult to have a normsl conversation, the experience was pleasant.
Will come back again.
Had an 8:30 reservation. We only get down to Frederick once or twice a year. From the start, we were reminded they close at 10 p.m. From that point on, we felt rushed! The bus boy even stood there waiting foe my husband to take the last bite of our salad to grab his plate. We didn't even get a drink before our asparagus was sent out. We opted to close out the bill and go. The only saving grace, and the reason we will return, was the actions of the manager. He checked on us, addressed the issue, apologized, and did not charge us for the asparagus and salad. Our thanks to him!
The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. So many unusual things to choose from in the menu that it took us forever to order. Our waiter, however was very patient and helpful. I got the paella of the day, which I highly recommend, and the asparagus fries. The asparagus fries were unique and I'm sure would have been fabulous if the asparagus was fresh but I realize asparagus is out of season in this area right now so I guess I'll have to retry in the spring.
Great food and friendly staff.
Vibrant atmosphere & friendly wait staff. Do not leave without trying their signature asparagus fries & bacon wrapped dates, yummy! Don't pass up the white sangria too.
Their special marguaritas are excellent. We had the watermelon one that was featured. Oh, the short rib sliders will make you cry.......
The food is amazing! We travel about 45 minutes to go here. Our favorite is the chorizo burgers. It is a very good idea to have a reservation here on the weekends.
Great experience, as always!!
Great service, great food. We'll be back. The Tapas are great to share, but I'd also like to try their Paella meals.
We really liked the generous, small plates and quite honesty...the food was terrific! Had the scallops; fried asparagus; meatball sandwich; and these brisket bites - all very good. Delicious bloody Mary’s too!
One of the best tapas places I have been to. Definitely worth checking out...and be sure to try the fried asaparagus sticks in roasted tomato aoili. Yum!!!
Unique and delicious food all the time. Great place to spend time with friends.
Fantastic food, great service, good setting but unreasonable noise level. I sat in the side dining room with my date and could not converse over the shouting from neighboring tables. Not the place for conversation. Worth the food but will return on a week night.
