Come in for a light bite and a fantastic cocktail, a famous Isabella burger and a glass of red, or for a multi-course culinary adventure.
We were in town a day early for a wedding. Isabella was close to our hotel and we had no expectations. Dinner here was a highlight of our trip. Our meal was exceptional. Salads were a generous size. Dressing on the house salad was light and refreshing. The Caesar was very good. The bronzino was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and friendly. Our only regret is that we live a 100 miles away.
Good food and great service. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend for business or personal.
Everything was top notch. Highly recommended...the bolognese was the best I have had. Service was excellent too.
Food & Waitstaff was beyond excellent, would definitely go back
The cocktails we had were very delicious! Unfortunately that is about it. Ordered a meat and cheese board and our waitress just dropped it off and did not notify us of which cheese was what, plus I asked for fruit along with it and was not on the board. The fact they charged extra for honey and fruit I thought was a bit much since most places it is free as the chef pairs the meats and cheeses. Calamari was average and luke warm. I ordered the Tuna dish and asked for medium rare, it was over cooked. We decided to try dessert and got the salted caramel brownie a la mode. The brownie was not warm (not that it was described as such but usually served warmed) and tasted burnt like they used a cooking torch to brown the top. The ice cream was good. Overall the food was average for fine dining prices.
Great vibe. Food was great I had the arugula salad with chicken. Perfect for lunch. Topped it off with the cappuccino cheesecake...not sure how many points that cost me...but worth every bite!
As someone who’s been an expatriate of the area for twenty years, it’s always both an adventure and a trial finding a restaurant in NEPA that is neither a goofy chain nor an overly fussy white-linen funeral parlor with veal marsala. Isabella’s is a quiet, casual environment with simple dishes done extremely well. Everything is thoughtfully sourced and exceptionally delicious. The steaks are amazing, the seafood is perfect, and the pastas are the best I’ve found in the area. At this point, I’ve found no other place that is as good as this for what it does. If you’re looking for the sweet spot of casual atmosphere with exceptional food in the area...look no further.
Isabella's has amazing food and no matter what you get you'll be sure to enjoy it. You're instantly greeted when you walk in and everyone is so friendly.
Went for the Valentine Day special and were very pleased. The Winter Salad was surprisingly different and tasty. The service was very timely as you had a chance to enjoy your appetizer without having your entrée rushed out. We will be back.
Always a great dinner. Attentive service and great food/drinks!
We arrived on a Friday evening at 910 for dinner. The restaurant closed at 10 and they informed us kitchen was getting ready to close. We were the only customers in the restaurant at that time and in hindsight we should have taken the clue and left. Ordered meatballs for appetizer and while the taste was delicious, they were obviously reheated because they were lukewarm upon serving. We ordered the market fish which was a blackened blue snapper and an order of carbonara pasta . The fish was excellent but the pasta was soupy in consistency and did not have a very good flavor. We were not offered dessert after our meal because it was obvious we were holding them up in closing. We felt rushed and very uncomfortable. Perhaps this restaurant is better and more accommodating during other hours, but we will not be returning to find out.
Perfection tonight: menu, food, service. Will definitely go back.
The steak my wife ordered had a strange flavor. My pork chop was dry and my friend's filet was almosy all connective tissue. The smoked salmon and risottto were excellent.
The restaurant comes highly recommended by Wilkes-Barre PA locals! Everything was very enjoyable, and Annie was a wonderful, personable server. My companion's Beet Carpaccio appetizer and my Butternut Squash Soup appetizer were amazingly delicious! For our main course, we both decided on the Shrimp & Scallop Cavatelli with homemade pasta. From the description, we thought the seafood would arrive in a garlic/white wine sauce with confit tomatoes. The dish was actually in a tomato sauce. Although very tasty, it was not what we expected. I would still recommend Isabella's for a lovely dining experience.
We were looking for a place where we could get together and enjoy a good meal.Isabella did the trick. We were greeted warmly and our drink order was taken promptly. The menu tilts toward Italian entrees but there were other options as well including vegetarian choices. I felt we got a lot for our money. Isabella is not far from the local casino, VA hospital and a major medical center in Wilkes-Barre.
Excellent experience and amazing flavors. Life is about flavors.
Will not recommend
Service was a bit chaotic. Some of party given wrong specials menu. Server could not explain 2 of the dishes on specials. We had not been there in several years but expected a bit more pizzazz in the dishes. They were good but nothing really special...at a high price. We will try again because we used to love this place
A very nice place. The food was outstanding with great service the hostess is warm and welcoming. We are coming back. Thank you
Service was fantastic & food delicious, first visit and we will be back again and again!!
Finally a tablecloth restaurant where the noise didnt ruin the ambiance !!!
Warm and friendly service. Beautiful menu snd flexible choices.
Service was perfectly paced and staff checked on our needs yet not over kill.
It was great!!!!
I went there for my birthday with a friend. The restaurant is lovely as was the experience. The food was good but not great. I would however return and maybe try some of their other entrees. Overall it was a very lovely meal
Perfect evening, great food, excellent service and comfortable atmosphere
Great experience. We met friends fleeing Florence whom we hadn't seen in years & enjoyed a terrific meal. Our waitress was thoughtful & kind, food was great, & we were allowed to relax & converse casually. Hope to be there again one day soon.
Meatballs, beet salad and halibut excellent. Pastas very good. Night special Hawaiian sea bass was a little dry.
But overall very good food at moderate prices. Would definitely come back.
We were on vacation and our dinners were delicious. He had the Hanger steak and I had the halibut. Both were cooked to perfection. Service was spot on and the manager visited our table to inquire about our meal. Delightful experience! Thanks
This was our second visit, first was for lunch a few years ago. Our dinner experience was much better. The crab salad was very good. My husband had the roasted corn chowder which he thoenjoyed. I had the shrimp and scallops with cavatelli pasta and it was outstanding. Great flavor and huge portion. My husband had the veal medallions which he said were delicious. We shared the peanut butter parfait which was sinful. Our service was excellent. We weren’t rushed and were able to enjoy quiet conversation on our “date night”. We will be back.
Very pleasant experience. Service was great and food was delicious.
Overall, very satisfied: service w/a smile; well-paced delivery of courses and well-prepared, not over-spiced/cooked; best in town.
I love this restaurant so much. I first came with my boyfriend and we loved the food! So delicious. Then I came with my friends for my birthday and again, delicious food! My rare steak was on point!! And employees are always so wonderful. Just kind and courteous. I'll be going again!!
Everything was fine. The meals are always consistent
Enjoyed the staff and their extra effort to meet our needs.
The experience at Isabella's is always relaxing and enjoyable. The service is friendly and very accommodating. As a solo diner I appreciate being made to feel comfortable and with a variety of food selections it is easy to select an appropriate option. The food I always find interesting and well prepared. The cocktails always have seasonal pleasures to enjoy. A fun dining journey.
Great dinner. Recommend the fried green tomatoes app and Ahi Tuna dinner the pasta dish was also very good!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The service is fabulous, the menu changes often and is always awesome! The staff is very attentive. Recently, upon request, the chef prepares the available soft shell crabs to my liking, totally off the menu. They really know how to make you feel special. We recommend this place to all our friends and will continue to visit often.
The service was excellent and the meal was very nicely presented. There were some very happy tables with a little noise; however, it did not detract from the ambiance.
The service was outstanding and everyone in my party of 7 enjoyed their meal, however my wild salmon entree needed more seasoning. Overall it was a good experience and we will go back.
Really wonderful in all regards
Finally got to try this local restaurant. Their spring menu featured a sea bass over lentils and Brussels sprouts. It was excellent, flaked perfectly. Nice piece of fish, fresh sprouts. I added the beet carpaccio as my starter. Nice selection of golden and red beets with a goat cheese croquette on top. For the shared appetizer, we did the choice of 5 charcuterie board... tired the 5 haze harvest moon cheese that had a soft hint of butterscotch. It was smooth and creamy. The flavor was very mild and quite tolerable. Would purchase again! Nice dinner out without any celebration, just family.
