Love this place, even after all the new restaurants that have opened in Raleigh.
Too expensive for the experience. Decent food, poor service. It caters to vegetarians, if you're not one or with one, skip it.
Nicolette did a terrific job. Food was good and reasonably priced. Music every night was a plus and noise level was not too loud that dining was impacted. Definitely would recommend for everyday dining.
Always good music, great service, wonderful food. Consistently a good choice for an evening with friends.
We went for my wife's birthday and got seated right away but the restaurant filled up quickly which is why we were glad we got there at 5.
by 5:45 it was full and very loud there.
The fries supposedly soaked in pickle juice were average GREASY fries not worth $5
The waiter was amazing and attentive without being intrusive, he was great. Wish I could remember his name as I left him a 25% tip he was so good.
The food was good but overpriced as far as I was concerned, as were the desserts, the flourless chocolate cake was inedible as it was inconsistent and bitter, the creme brulee was average, the pie with ice cream my sister in law said was good.
My wife had the poached salmon and while the piece was generous we are not into the pink center, my vegatable puff pastry was very good but the accompanying vegatables were over steamed and soggy.
I had heard such great reviews which is why we went but honestly won't go back.
Food was fine, but the tables were placed too close together. Often times our communication with the server was interrupted by the adjacent table, who thought the server was actually speaking to them.
Expect the menu to be wrong and misleading. Our six piece shrimp stuffed with crab was really 5 piece (same with the table next to us). My bacon "wrapped" filet was really just a filet with a small sad piece of bacon on top. It seems like everything on the menu was misleading and really I came out of the experience laughing at it. So if you want live music and dissapointment this is the place for you.
We have enjoyed Irregardless many times. Last night was one of the best. The entertainment was two violinists who provided great background music without overwhelming conversation. Our menu choices were excellent. I had the Steak Frites and the meat was tender, flavorful and cooked to the right temperature. The fries are very good because of their fresh taste and skins left on. My wife had the Spanakopita that she felt it was the best ever. She also loved the medley of vegetables that accompanied the spanakopita.
Enjoyed the jazz duo, but they and we needed a break during the set.
Made a reservation on January 28th for Valentine’s Day. We were crammed into the bathroom entrance (seriously) with heavy traffic - from people going to the bathroom and servers squeezing by to get to their tables - going back and forth behind my chair. Also couldn’t hear anything my fiancé was saying as the music speaker was right behind my head. We left after one drink and made food at home. Do NOT recommend this restaurant on Holidays. Thankful that our server was understanding. Do better, Irregardless.
I enjoyed the atmosphere walking into the restaurant. Of course, it was a little more crowded due to Valentine's Day, but it wasn't unbearable. I know the servers were working really hard to get everything done, so I won't mark down for service. We did get our sears I soon as we walked in. Overall, the music and tone of the restaurant was nice. Not hard to get to like some restaurants downtown. I imagine that's why the restaurant next to Irregardless relocated there. I like the options of food, very creative. The presentation was nice, but food was just petty good. Definitely not horrible, but I imagine the vegetarian dishes are probably a little better. I'll have to go again one day and try another dish.
We were there for Valentines Day. Sat right next to the band so it was a bit loud but not terrible.
Food was excellent as usual.
Great meal with lovely ambiance!
my husband and I went for a pre -valentine dinner. Our crab dip appetizer was great, and my husbands linguini with seafood was great. I had black sea bass special and the fish was excellent but it was served on sauteed spinach that was bitter and risotto that I didn't like. Usually we are very happy with all we're served, this was an exception.
I went to Irregardless Café when it first opened and continued to have lunches and dinners until about 1983 - LOVED it then and LOVE it now! Just the best food, presented beautifully on the plates, creative, and offerings for ANY one - my granddaughter had duck breast; my partner had a chicken kabob with hummus; and I had a Woodland Pie (vegan) which was wrapped in a phyllo dough. In addition, the owners have always been socially conscientious and continue to be so!
