Great place. Sushi is very good and they have a nice diverse menu. You'll also have a more authentic experience. You'll take off your shoes and sit on mats on the floor, but there is a place for your legs so it's just like sitting at a regular table. Only difference is no seat backs. Definitely recommend reservations on weekends.
Nice Japanese restaurant.
Like the food and the attention remind me Japan
I Love this restaurant. Felt relax and service was excellent. I am going back soon.
Most highly rated sushi places these days are California modern… This one is very traditional :)
We went to Irori for an early Mother's Day dinner and it was delicious as usual. Irori is one of our go-to restaurants because the quality of the food and service is consistently outstanding.
While the food was quite good, and the servers were helpful and efficient, we were stunned when one of the staff asked us to leave because other people were waiting for a table! We made reservations in advance, and were not made aware of any time limit on our table. It left us with a bad impression, after what had been, up til then, a pleasant dining experience.
Always consistent with quality.
Been dining here for 28 years
LOVED IT. Was a tad expensive, but we will be back.
Everything was very good as usual except the miso soup was lukewarm. Also I guess because they are so popular now we were rushed out so they could get our table.
I went here with my boyfriend and his sister and her friend. I found it on opentable and reviews were fabulous. We live in Dallas but were staying nearby for the night before heading back home. The food was fabulous and the service was great too. Our whole party loved the traditional vibe of the restaurant. I wish we had a place like this in Dallas. I’d go all the time!
The food is excellent and the experience is fun
The service, food presentation were good but we asked for the order to be spaced out, however nearly all arrived simultaneously- difficult to have time to savor individual dishes,
The tendency appears to move patrons through very quickly so spread out one’s order to catch your breath.
However an excellent selection of dishes and quality worth the pricing.
Do recommend eating at a later time to avoid young families with youngsters and the scrambling of small feet.
Reservations a must but expect a wait. Not necessarily the restaurant’s fault as eating habits can be less predictable due to ordering dishes over time.
Well worth a try for Sushi, sashimi and tempura dishes plus selection of sakis and beers.
always good. sundays not always the freshest. much better during the week
Lit af, good value for money
Amazing as always
The wait was long, small restaurant. The food was good but the service was slow.
Attentive and pleasant wait staff. Good eats.
The sunken seating arrangements were so nice and cozy , it was an experience to dine there. The unagi was very good.
Our go to sushi spot on the westside. Good quality fish and nice atmosphere.
Love this place....traditional atmosphere and sushi is top grade. Was a big disappointed they ran out of 2 of their specials... white salmon and king salmon. Be sure and wear socks..you have to take your shoes off. One of my LA area faves..............
The sushi is fresh which is great but the wait staff are rude consistently.
Overall a pleasant dining experience - good sushi is definitely lacking in the MDR area, and the food is great and the ambiance is unique, with the recessed space under the table for your legs. While I appreciate the need to take off your shoes in the entryway, it creates a bit of a logistical nightmare for people entering and waiting (with shoes on), people taking their shoes off to get to the table, people putting shoes back on to go out, and all in about 20sq ft.
Anyhow, it was still worth it and I'll definitely be back, but with slip on shoes instead of laces...
Not the best sushi I have had, but very good Would go back again
Food is great I had a plethora of sushi rolls and sake it was great. Beware they do ask you take off shoes which isn’t a big deal to me but my husband and I sat at the sushi bar and when I say it’s elbow to elbow you have no space. The lady next to me turned her head and I got hit with a ponytail so it really took from my experience. Being comfortable is key to enjoying a meal. We will return and try the tables which is sitting on floor Indian style but hey as long as no hair is in my mouth and the food is good I’ll try.
It was actually pretty cool that we did not have actual seats, and the restaurant was very clean and nice
Early visits are quieter and a res. Is a good thing
I don’t even like sushi, but tried a few things and I was impressed. It was a unique experience. I’m a loyal customers for sure now.
Was a cute and original spot
Even if we booked at 10pm, at arrival we were told that the restaurant was already closed. Is this acceptable?
The BEST sushi and the best service! Thank you for always providing the best dining experiences!
It's our favorite sushi place. Service is very attentive and helpful. Yummy, yummy food. Fresh and delicious. I'd recommend making reservations, because this place is always busy.
Great food. The black cod and sashimi was delicious and fresh tasting.
Been here before, this was my second time and loved it equally both times. Wish it was a bit bigger but the food is fresh and good! Staff is always pleasant. It’s moderate noise but you can still hold a conversation.
My husband’s birthday
The sushi chefs are knowledgeable and skilled, personable and welcoming. The sushi was super fresh and put together in the most delicious way, appealing to the eye as well as the palate. Service was efficient and unobtrusive.
Thank you for an amazing evening.
Excellent food! From the appetizers to the sushi rolls, we truly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to the next time we can eat there! Thank you!
Reservations a must! Excellent service, food brought quickly and quality is excellent. We’ve been dining here with previous Japanese owners in 1988 when it was Marina East. I not sure when new ownership (Korean)took over but it has been dramatically improved while preserving the traditional Japanese ambiance & cuisine. (I am Japanese)
An exceptional sushi place in LA
Our favorite sushi spot on the west side. We eat here regularly. Food and service are consistently wonderful.
Loved the aura. Loved the food. Loved the service.
