Irori sushi is my favorite place for sushi. The staff is very nice, the fish is super fresh and the price is well worth it. You have to take off your shoes to be seated.
Food is great but a bit pricey. My Dinner for 2 (incl. tip) cost me $179.
My wife and I really love good sushi and Irori Sushi is one of the best. We live in San Diego, so we don't go up to L.A. very much. We have eaten at Irori Sushi twice in the past year or so before going to a music concert at The Forum.
It is a fun place because everyone takes their shoes off at the entrance. All the tables are at floor level (even at the sushi bar), but there is space below the table for your legs, which is perfect for me because I can't sit comfortably on the floor with my legs crossed.
The quality and variety of fish and other seafood is excellent. We will come here again if we are coming to this part of L.A.
Perfect meal
Our first time there, a party of 4, one of whom is native Japanese- a busy Wednesday night but we were seated right away for our 6:30 reservation. The best dishes were the eggplant roasted with miso and the gyoza. I thought the sushi was okay but not great. The vegetable tempura was greasy, and the grease was a little old. The kicker at the end when they presented the bill- they asked us to vacate the table because the next party had been waiting an hour. We won’t be returning.
This is our favorite stop when going to LAX from Bakersfield . Actually it’s the best Sushi menu I’ve seen. Need to reserve in advance. Very popular with locals
Beautiful space, terrific food, and great service. Very highly recommended.
It was for my son’s birthday. We had a great meal although a little pricy. I do like the ambiance. It’s not somewhere I will go all the time but once in a while, it’s great. The service was nice and they were all very friendly.
It was perfect
Loved it, best sushi ever
Always a pleasure
They don't honor reservation times, which can be very frustrating. We were sat 20 minutes after our reservation. They also do not explain what is in their speciality rolls, and most do not have photos which can make ordering hard because you have to wait for a server to answer what is in every single roll.
Best in every aspect and detail.
Always fantastic!
This was our first time in this restaurant. It was very busy when we walked in but we had a reservation and we were seated immediately. I was actually pleasently surprised as most restaurants even when you have a reservation you have to wait a little. We truly enjoyed our dinner! Every single dish we got was excellent and melted in your mouth. Flavors were amazing too. We had sushi and cooked dishes as well. Everything very fresh. The service was truly excellent. Not one dirty dish was left behind. As soon as we had our last sip of our drink they would ask if we would like anything else. Water was always refilled. Highly recommend.
We love coming to Irori sushi. We try to make a reservation or show up early because it can get busy! Great experience with the removal of shoes and sitting in the floor. They have the inglesina high chairs for babies and toddlers which we love. Food is delicious, great quality seafood selection which makes up for their pricing. Love their hot plates such as the shisito peppers, miso eggplant, fried oysters and pork belly. My absolute fave dish is the blue fin burrata!
Very friendly workers. Unique restaurant. Exquisite food!!
Love the food but the prices have gone way up since new management took over a few years back. It cost me $140 for 4 teriyaki chicken dinners.
Food was so good and came so quickly! Recommend a reservation on weekend evenings but once seated was in and out in 30 minutes!
So delicious! My kids loved taking off their shoes too. We had a great Christmas dinner.
Great experience - lovely sushi - only place in LA where I like the sushi.
The food was excellent, the seating was unusual since we sat down low sort of on the floor and then under the table. I definitely liked it it was different, Japanese style. Again the food was exceptional all four of us enjoyed all the various sushi rolls and dishes that we had. I highly recommend this place for others.
The service here is always off. I think it’s because they don’t have sections, so no one knows which tables they are looking after. They are also really weird with reservations.
Amazing as always!! Best of the best
Coming again tonight for my 40th!!!
Amazing as always! BEST ever
my first time at the restaurant. We had a group of 9 for a business dinner and it was extremely enjoyable.
I would certainly recommend it as the staff and food all were excellent. I will be back.
Kevin at the sushi bar was so nice. Fish was great!! Yummmmm we ordered the omakase and loved each piece. The little seatbacks were rad, too.
The omakase was so good and a ton of fun! Great value
Always a pleasuer
This is a favorite restaurant for my boyfriend and I to frequent for a special treat! The staff are always kind and attentive, the fish is fresh and the flavor is always spot on! We really enjoy the modern traditional style of the venue and we always recommend it if someone is looking for a unique dining experience!
Great little date spot! Fun vibes because no shoes and you’re sat on the floor essentially, good little switchup. Sushi is honestly bomb quality, one of my favorite spots in LA after 3 years of living here. Do yourself and try the toro🤤
Incredible fresh sushi and sashimi. Had the premium omakase, premium sashimi, premium rainbow roll, salmon blue crab, wagyu, all amazingly fresh!
Food is fresh and presented very nicely. It is however a little pricey and the service was a bit slow. But overall it was a good dining experience. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great sushi!
Food was real good, but their saki list was scaled down and no longer useful. A $25 small bottle we had was Disappointing
Great place to eat with friends. Everyone was friendly.
Great as always
I have visited a few times for lunch and much prefer the experience than my recent dinner. Dinner was very loud, very busy and expensive with slow service. The seating is fun "on the floor" and the fish is great.
Great tasting fresh food with plenty of good options, good service and ambiance. Will definitely go again.
Very traditional-looking place, with diners removing their shoes--yet they offer more western-style popular "rolls." This dichotomy sums up Irori in a nutshell--an uneven mix of tradition and contemporary, sometimes for the best, others not so much.
The seating at Irori is one of the most unique parts, as it has the traditional low table look but offers a hidden footwell so western diners don't have to kneel.
However the quality of the fish is hit or miss, so you're better off ordering what you want rather than the Omikase.
The chefs/servers also bring out all the food at once, rather than pacing things out like courses, unlike some other Japanese restaurants that prize that part of the dining experience. Make sure to request that they do that so you don't get a table just crowded with food.*
*Your one challenge with this is many of the servers are Japanese-natives, but that means they don't speak very good English if you have any questions.
Food is delicious and service is great. Always consistent and a really nice atmosphere.
