Food was good, but not sure it was worth what we paid. The fish & chips I ordered, I thought was great. But the burger my husband ordered said it was just 'ok'. The pizza my son ordered, was so spicy he couldn't eat it. The staff is beyond outgoing! Very friendly. The waiter came back to check on everything several times, but not to the point where it was over doing it. Overall, I'd go back & give it another shot.
Made a reservation for 9:15 brunch. Arrived approx 7-8 min early. Hostess apologized because she did not have a table for us so we were asked to wait in the waiting area for about 10-15 min. My husband had the buffet. I chose not to have the buffet because it didn't seem that good of quality for the price. (For example, the breakfast potato option was jo jo style potato wedges.) I ordered the eggs Benedict. They were able to substitute the bacon for avacado and tomato for no extra charge. Our server seemed busy so he was not as attentive as I would have liked but he was very nice when he did come by our table.
We had reservations so we got sat immediately, but the place is a bit cozy so there started to be quite a crowd at the door after awhile. Food was good, but the server was a little absent. Noise level was a mid-level roar due to the vaulted ceilings and the place was a bit hard to find since the entrance is under ground level.
Family wanted to have dinner before attending the resorts holiday light display. We had a 4:30 reservation, and upon our arrival there were only 2 other parties dining. We waited 15+ minutes before anyone came over to take our order, and only after we got up walked over to hostess to ask for our server. One of us ordered a salad with chicken- it came out with no chicken! Another guest ordered a salad with the salmon- came out with no salmon! Yes really, when the proteins were delivered to the table the chicken was ice cold out of the refrigerator, and had to be sent back to be warmed.
3 other meals came with fries, we had to ask 3 times for ketchup and were just about done before we finally received it,
Portions are small and unimpressive for price
To be fair the waiter did remove the charge for the salad with the chicken, which was nice and the proper thing to do.
I was going to take another party there next week, but have decided not to go back there due to lack of service, and food quality
Actually left feeling hungry!
It put a damper on our holiday festivity
It was ok for a hotel restaurant but I wouldn't recommend. It was way over priced for the quality of food. And really no ambiance. I appreciate the balloons and dessert for my daughters birthday. That was a special touch I didn't expect and it made her feel special. But the whole atmosphere was that of an Applebee's. With a bill over $225 for 4 people (2 of them kids). Something doesn't match up here.
The food was tasty and high quality. The menu was somewhat limited: primarily pizzas and sandwiches. I had the prime rib one of the few entrees and it was excellent. Not a place for a romantic evening but great for casual dining. My only complaint is that we were seated adjacent to exterior door and staff kept propping the door open and it allowed a very cold breeze where I was sitting. Not a problem most evening in Scottsdale but a cold evening a distraction.
In April I took a friend to eat her during a stay, really liked it. In July another stay prompted me to do my nephew's birthday dinner for 14 here as well ( picky kids), everbody enjoyed it. On Nov 28th, I chose to eat at Ironwood again as my family and I were spending the evening at the Ice Rink and other festivites at the Fairmont. My five boys loved the pizza, chicken and hands down the best burger ever ( according to the 13 yr old). For a starter the adults had Carne Carnitas Fries, had a nice kick, potatoes weren't soggy from the beef , cheese and other toppings. I had the Steak Sandwich, best I have ever had! Another had the burger and shares that sentiment; the Prime Rib was a tad fatty but it was at the edge, none of the beautifully cooked meat was lost, the veggies were steamed to perfection softened but with a bit of crispness. Our server was always there before we needed her and was nice enough to charge up my iphone when my charger failed. We sat inside but in warmer weather the patio is wonderful, stunning views of lagoons and golf course.
My husband and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.
We went to the resturant on Saturday night after a day of sight seeing in Sedona.
The atmosphere was fun, festive and our table was surprisingly intimate.
Our waiter, Mike was a natural, nice and informative.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Ironwood American Kitchen.
For a nice lunch after a dip in the pool or any exercise that is available on the grounds;
this is a good place to bring the family to eat. The service, Jen, was exceptional and the food
was fresh and tasty….I had a Chinese chicken salad…very good with a semi-spicy mustard
dressing, which I loved. The staff , Hanna and Kayla, in the restaurant was so friendly and cooperative and a follow-up call to Sam Eriksen accomplished my request with expedience! Very helpful! All in all, this was a most pleasant dining option.
My wife and I went for Mother's Day at 6:30 pm. We sat outside under a covered area and within view of the pool area. The weather was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the view and the outdoor dining. The food was good, although the menu is somewhat limited. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. It was calm and quiet and quite pleasant since everybody had been to Mother's Day brunch earlier in the day . We walked around for a few minutes and found sofa seating areas with picturesque fire pits near the pool. It was very relaxing. Would like to return again while the weather is still pleasant.
Food and service were excellent. The prices were a little too high. $12 for a mimosa that was very, very tiny. I had eggs benedict which was very good, but didn't come with any sides (potatoes, coffee etc.). For the price I thought there would be more, but it was very good.
My friends and I come here several times per year for a girls lunch with Bloody Marys. We are able to casually dine and enjoy the leisurely and quiet atmosphere. The food selection is good and we have never been disappointed with either that or the service.
I booked reservation over a week in advance, for Valentines day at 6:45pm. We didn't eat all day in anticipation of the Prime Rib dinner. We arrived a few minutes early and was seated at a table that looked like an after thought. After about 20 minutes my boyfriend got up to ask the hostess where our server was. She finally came over to the table with NO apologies. It took another 20 minutes before she arrrived with our first drink. Meanwhile there is a huge fan from the kitchen blowing directly at the table we are sitting at. After about an hour total we asked to sit outside (The place was NOT super busy). The hostess sat us up outside. When our waitress found us we asked if we could have another drink, possibly order at least some appetiters and asked to have the gas fire next to our table lit. After another 30 mins, we recieved our appetiters without fresh drinks. We had to track the waitress down to remind her of the drinks and request to place our dinner order. I attempted to order the Prime Rib which was a huge advertising point on their "Valentines Day" menu, and the sole purpose of our visit. But our waitress says "oh, did I forget to tell you guys we ran out of Prime Rib?" We still had not gotten the second drink we ordered (again, restaurant was surprisingly not very busy). We simply asked for the check (even though we knew getting into another restaurant after 8:30 on Valentine's day was going to be impossible). Our waitress brought our check and the drinks this time. We opened the bill and found someone else's bill entirely. During this time, the table next to us had 2 kids who had completely finished their dinner by the time the parents food came. To the father's surprise, he recieved the wrong meal and was pretty upset. We go upstairs to get our car from vallet only to witness the vallet attendant mix up the cars for a customer who had also had enough of the madness. Our Valentines day was completely ruined and we will NEVER return!!
A very nice dinner. The resorts casual restaurant we had a very nice experience. On a beautiful Arizona evening we sat on the patio overlooking the main pool. The special menu included a salted prime rib. Very nice cut and cooked perfectly - delicious! Dessert was a baked Alaska prepared table side , a nice touch. All in all a pleasant Valentine's dinner.
Although the food we ordered,roast beef and ahi tuna salad was quite good,the restaurant had run out of several items we wanted The service was slow I guess it was during the Christmas holiday season and the hotel was very crowded Many people were ordering burgers or pizza
If I was in the area again I would try it for brunch or lunch
Came here for Christmas dinner. Hostess stand was very unorganized and the food took forever to come out. We got apologies from the hostess stand (and a free appetizer) and apologies from the waitress re wait on food. Staff & kitchen should be better prepared for busy holiday service.
We booked over a week in advance, nothing said about eating inside or outside. as it was Christmas Eve and we had company from out of Town we thought we were going to be seated inside. we were told that they couldn't seat us, and there were tables open. This was 5:30pm. asked for a manager, he sat us at a table inside but right across from the door, which everyone kept coming in. the manager didn't go and close, but our server did. Kelly was our server and was wonderful. Tried to make it a pleasant experience. food came, 2 burgers were so wel done that they were awful. My wife's salad was terrible, she couldn't even cut the chicken. Poor Kelly was running inside and outside to serve. You could see she is was overwelmed, but did not say anything. She was very pleasant. I know it was Christmas Eve, everyone is over worked, but this is not the quantity of food or dining we are used to.
When booking the reservation, a fire table outside (website stated they had them) was requested and a note that we were celebrating a birthday. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly showed us to our table, a two-top, inside, right next to the door. When we looked outside, I saw that there weren't actually any fire tables, just tables with some heaters scattered about. We stayed inside. We were finally greeted by a server about 7 minutes after being sat who took a drink order. She returned to the table in about another 7 minutes to take our food order. I told her that we had viewed 2 menus online but neither were the one we were given. She laughed and said, "oh we have like a thousand menus, I couldn't possibly know what menu you're talking about." After seeing that we were not equally amused by that, she offered to speak with the chef. She eventually returned with another menu. We ordered an appetizer (still had not seen the drinks we ordered). she put in that order and returned with our wine. The entree that was ordered off of the 'supplemental' menu was icebox cold as if it had been sitting in the refrigerator just waiting for someone to order it; out of the fridge and straight to the table. The salmon was overcooked, dry and ice cold, while the noodles were undercooked, but no less cold. While I am not someone who generally complains or sends food back, I simply could not even force that disaster of a meal down and had to send it back. Having lost my appetite, I did not order anything else. The server was slow and unengaged. Not even a mention of the birthday either. Here's a tip to all hosts and servers; if a patron bothers to leave a comment or request, read them and do everything in your power to honor it. Your tip and future patronage depends on it. I will tell everyone I speak to of this awful experience.
