Superb food! Everything we had was excellent!
Once again, Ironside delivered a terrific experience--we stop in every time we are in San Diego. Our server was great and the oysters were great. I would highly recommend giving Ironside a shot if you are in Little Italy. My favorite is ordering the "Big" and then adding on another 6 oysters. More than enough for two people.
The food was fantastic, ambiance great! One of my favorites!
First time. Picked blind after reading the reviews . We were very happy with the selection, a bit loud but overall an “A”
Awesome food!!! Pretty decor!!! Great drinks!
Super dog friendly. Happy hour outing enjoying a staycation day with my boyfriend. Gumbo, chowder, octopus tacos and oysters were amazing.
Great service! The crab cake sandwich was delicious!
this place is always good with attentive staff and great food
Constantly exceeds expectations. Delicious and fresh. Oysters were outstanding, cocktails great, service great.
Would definitely recommend getting the Tower! Service was great, lots of energy, would return when back in San Diego
Great place, great food we had awesome service by Jeff, we would definitely recommend and comeback
Staff was incredible and food was delicious. Pastry Chef was fantastic with my youngest son at the pastry counter. Definitely would go back. Seafood was so fresh loved the oysters.
The food was really good, I had the shark, which was one of the specials, and was pleasantly surprised as to how delicious it was. Only negatives here, the service was kind of slow, and the restaurant was extremely hot. There were people waiting for their tables that left because of how hot it was in there. Other than that, food and drinks I definitely recommend!
The servers were friendly. The food came quickly, and the drinks took forever. We were given hot plates out of the dishwasher for our salad.
The worst part was the uncomfortable temperature. Climate change is real — please figure out a way to cool the restaurant down on these hot days. We left much quicker than Planned, and spent less money because it was so miserably hot inside. May other patrons were fanning themselves too.
Hot, hot, hot was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was so hot with no moving air it was almost hard to breathe. I couldn’t stop sweating. Poor wait staff are stuck wearing heavy jeans and jean aprons. The food was just ok. I ordered the happy hour salad, french fries as well as a crab cake. The french fries were the best part of the meal. I had read so many great reviews, but was disappointed in the food and air temp.
The food is amazing, staff was accompanying.
Everything was great until the oysters came out. Not a single one of them was cleaned. So Expect a piece of shell in all of your oysters.
We were visiting San Diego and one of our Lyft drivers recommended Ironside for fantastic fish! We won't go again. It was dark inside of the restaurant, and the food was ok at best. Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing, but our server wasn't helpful in making selections, and seemed as if he just wanted us to order and get on our way. We traveled with a child and they really don't have a child's menu, which was fine, they did offer to make him a grilled cheese. We did research the menu prior to our arrival, and had options he would have chose otherwise. We were seated next to an obnoxiously loud couple that were doing shots, and drinking heavily. Their conversation wasn't family appropriate despite being there during family dining, and they just ruined the entire experience. The food wasn't amazing either. For the price go somewhere else - there's plenty of great options nearby.
The food was delicious.
Our table was ready at the reserved time .
Our waiter was busy and two other waiters had to step in for him. In all fairness to the restaurant, they were busy but when I'm paying $$$$ I expected better service.
Once again, the food was delicious !
Incredible experience, awesome food! Can’t wait to come back!
Food was awesome very well thought out modern takes on traditional seafood.
Our waiter Austin was the best. When he learned we were from out of town he went out of his way to recommend fun things to do in San Diego. Lunch is a very good deal and the ambiance it VERY relaxing. If you hand in San Diego and have time to kill before your checkin I highly suggest this place.
Fantastic place!excellent food. Service can be better. They did not clean the table between one plate and the other one. Thus, the table was a little bit dirty when the new dishes arrived. They can put a little bit more attention on the details.
Great menu, delicious flavors and lots more we want to try on our next visit. We will definitely go back.
I was celebrating the birthday of my boyfriend, and he loved the restaurant, food , service , everything
Their barstools are the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat on. However, the food and service were so amazing that I came back again the next day for lunch and once again say on that awful barstool.
It was pricey but the food was great and the service was fantastic. We throughly enjoyed ourselves
Always amazing food at Ironside. It gets bsut so reservations are recommended. The oysters and lobster roll are a must.
Great food and staff were very friendly and accommodating
Great place, thankful I made a reservation. Place went above and beyond for our special occasion.
I went for lunch with my 10 year old son who loves seafood. We shared oysters, Caesar salad and lobster a la plancha. It was all amazingly delicious. We finished up with a plum sorbet that was equally interesting.
Ambiance is ok, nice looking restaurant but wished there were more seating outside. Didn’t have the dish we came for which was the live uni. Didn’t enjoy the “Rockafella” spinach oyster; just stick to the raw oyster instead. The best food was actually the bread that came from the bakery inside the restaurant. One of the worker actually gave us a fresh loaf of bread, which I believe was actually another business and not associated with ironSide.
We had a good server, and he and the other staff were friendly and attentive.
The oysters were good and fresh.
The lobster, a la plancha style, was good and those in our party that ordered it enjoyed it a lot.
Another in our party ordered the swordfish, and it was their first time trying swordfish. They really enjoyed the dish, and were thoroughly pleased.
The House Recipe Bread was just ok. Not sure it was worth the price. I certainly wouldn’t order it again.
I ordered 3 small plates. The grilled octopus was fine. I have definitely had worse, but certainly have had better. The best part of that dish was the generous portion size.
I also ordered a cup of the chowder. It was also simply, ok. There was something missing on it. I would not recommend it nor order it again. The cheddar biscuit that came with it was cold and dry.
The final dish I had was the Kanpachi collar. This was really well prepared and something I would definitely order again.
We ended the meal with a order of their cinnamon donut holes and a sprinkles donut. Both were cold, and unimpressive. Would not recommend nor order them again.
The meal was a 7/10. But the price was INSANELY high. For what they charge, it should have been far better.
I have had amazing meals at other establishments in the Little Italy area for the same price point or less.
Thanks for a fantastic dinner! I think the four of us ordered enough food for six and we finished it all! The rockfish nituske was really nicely done and possibly the best lobster I've ever had.
The food was great. Service was great. Atmosphere was excellent. Hands down my favorite restaurant ever.
Every time we’re in town for the weekend we make sure to make Ironside’s happy hour the first stop. You can’t beat their delicious $1 happy hour oysters. We also love the chowder fries and their great cocktails. We can’t visit San Diego without some Ironside!
I enjoyed my meal.
