Iron Works Tavern Ratings and Reviews
It was bright and had more of a family atmosphere than I was expecting for 8:30pm on a Friday. The name and the overall look had me expecting a darker feel. The food was outstanding, you get what you pay for, portion sizes were perfect! I was able to finish my entree and feel satisfied. Dessert was well portioned as well, service was wonderful! Our server was so nice and genuine and our host introduced us to a pleasant experience. I would go back but not as a date night, a better spot for a business meal, maybe even a premium outing with friends and/or family.
I will say that the location of this restaurant is perfect if you don't want to be too far from the airport, in fact you can see the terminal from most windows.
Maybe it was because the Sunday afternoon NFL game just finished and people must have left, but we arrived at 5pm and the place was almost empty, so we thought being waited in wouldn't be a problem, but it took our server ~15 minutes to even acknowledge that we were there.
The prices of the food on the menu we were given was much higher than the web site procing which was a surprise to me.
The food was so-so, but way overpriced for what it was - $15 for a small burger and fries (and I mean small).
A small selection of draft beer also (maybe 6 selections) which I expected to be much larger given that it was a 'tavern'.
Overall I was disappointed but maybe I need to give it a second try.
My husband and I went on a Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived we went in through the back door, a bartender greeted us immediately and directed us where to check in. We were seated and had a very pleasant exchange with the host. Our waiter Chuck was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was served quickly was absolutely perfect. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and the calamari for starters. I had the chicken mac and cheese which was creamy and flavorful and my husband had the chicken parm I tried a bit of his and it was amazing. I would absolutely go back!
Though this was not our first trip to Ironworks, we always enjoy it. We've been to banquets, eating with friends or just the two of us. The food is always tasty and fresh. The drinks are superb. But what makes Ironworks outstanding is the terrific servers who do everything they can to make your dining experience all that it should be. The decor and comfort are well worth it. We would recommend it.
We just love IWT, especially their happy hour. Seem to always get "our" high top table and the service is always spot on. Tonight's Caesar salad was nice and crisp with spicy homemade croutons. French onion soup just hit the spot. Flatbread with added grilled onions also tasty as always.
Haven’t been here in a long time decided to give it a try. Ended up sitting at bar as our Open Table table was not ready. When we asked to look at wine list bartender was quite rude- threw the list at us Never asked how we liked our meal........ so won’t go back, won’t recommend
All staff were incredibly friendly. Food came fast and was amazing. Reasonably priced. We made a reservation and they saved us the table with the best view of the restaurant. Portions were the perfect size. I could go on and on about how great it was. One of the best all-around restaurant experiences I've ever had. I have nothing bad to say
Calamari and buffalo chicken dip were delicious appetizers, suggested by our waiter! My fiancé had steak and it he said it was delicious. I had the mac and cheese and it was to die For. The espresso martini to end the night was perfection! Great night with friends, food, and drinks! Can't want to come back!
The service was great and the resturant lovely. We ordered the lamb lollipops, delicious; steak frites, which could have used a bit more salt and pepper; and the baked chicken which was pretty bland. Our overall experience was good but the food could have been better.
I took my Grandmother during the appetite happy hour (3-6 pm). The manager at the front desk was professional but friendly (Bill), while our server (Mike) was pleasant and fast- he even offered to close the blinds while I was taking a photo with my Grandmother. The appetizers came out quickly & everything was amazing, as was my lemon drop.
The food and service were both fine. The meal was well prepared and served without rush. The problem is that there is no handicapped parking for this restaurant. When I inquired about this oversight,I was cavalierly told that there was parking around the corner as part of the hotel's parking. This means that someone with mobility issues has to walk around half of the building to enter the restsurant. When I pointed this out, the gentleman at the restaurant front desk told me that we could take a shortcut through the lobby of the hotel. This "shortcut " is inaccessible when returning to your vehicle unless you have a room key for the hotel. This situation needs to be corrected and the "tone deaf" approach to handicapped guests needs to be tempered.
Overall great experience. Ate at the bar and the appetizer selection was well thought out and a nice drink menu featuring lots of bourbons. Ken the bartender was excellent and recommended the swordfish which turned out to be fantastic. Decor was industrial chic. Going back soon.
