Iron Rooster - Canton
Whether you’re looking for breakfast all day, lunch, supper or drinks, at Iron Rooster you’ll find a new twist on traditional comfort food, legendary hospitality, and a real sense of community. Reservations are for main dining room only. We are unfortunately unable to take reservations for the patio or the bar area. Please call us directly for groups of 5 or more.
We had a great experience and I felt like our server was trying to make the best of a bad night. They seemed very under staffed. I got there early for the reservation and had to wait for a table even though it looked like several were open. They did have a few large parties. I think our server tried his best for running around so much. The home made pop tarts are amazing.
I was expecting a larger quantity of food for the price. The chicken and french toast was an extremely small portion and the candied bacon came out completely cold. I would try somewhere else- this place is all hype but weak on delivery.
It had been wanting to try out an Iron Rooster for a few months and finally got the chance. Our server was awesome and had a great sense of humor, and the food was delicious. Coffee was pretty bitter, but it wouldn't stop me from coming back. Ambiance and noise level were nice, the Canton location is decorated nicely inside (nothing to compare it to since it's the only one I've been to so far). I had made a reservation and the host staff were friendly - the place was packed when we left around 11:30 am so you should definitely make a reservation just in case. All in all, I'd totally recommend it!
Our table was placed too close to the door, and I couldn’t relax and enjoy my food due to the cold air.
We have eaten here before and had great service. Today was a different story. Waitress completely ignored us, didn't check on us once (didn't ask us for drink refills or got us napkins) . Will come again, but hopefully get different waiter.
Worse service ever...started out good but slowly hit rock bottom...food took forever to come out...I arrived at 9:30am leave until 11:20...been eating here since it opened. Hard to get refills, condiments, etc.
The food was great. I had shrimp and grits which were very tasty and the waffle/vanilla ice cream dessert was amazing. I will definitely return.
Our water Kevin was fantastic! Never left our glasses empty and made sure our experience was exceptional. The food was delicious, the waffle burger was out of this world! Very excited to return with more friends!
Food was really good, but a little pricey... although the quality makes up for that! Definitely recommend getting a Roostart for dessert! Service was meh. Our waiter was quiet and didn't pay much mind to us but I noticed he was also working the bar so maybe it was an off experience. Biggest complaint was the noise level/atmosphere. It's basically one giant room with as many tables as possible jammed in, and the high ceiling with little noise buffering made it very loud on a crowded Sunday. We were seated in the corner which normally I would hate but it actually made it better since we were not constantly bumped into due to crowded tables and the noise was slightly less oppressive.
Overall I enjoyed eating there. The food was good; however, my friend's coffee was brought to her cold, the waitress took quite a while to take our order- we had to flag her down- and the noise level is quite loud.
I always enjoy the food I would just recommend the greeter's to stay on top of customers with reservations.
The food and atmosphere was great! Waiter was bit annoying. He came to the table several times to see if we were ready with the bill when clearly we were just sitting there socializing. With the exception of that we had an overall great time celebrating the birthday I have a friend.
This was my first time and I will definitely return. My Benny Crab was delicious. My server was a little slow in coming to table and we had to find him to get our check but other than that, I’d give them an A+.
I have been to the Iron Rooster in Annapolis a couple of times so this time we chose canton. Let me say. It was a great experience. The green tomatoes were amazing. And the waffle burger was sooooo good. My boyfriend enjoyed the breakfast hash also. He saved some for later. ;)
Excellent food, the menu is wide-ranging and creative. The atmosphere is great, it's always packed when we go but isn't overly noisy.
Brought my boyfriend for the first time and He loved the chicken and waffles!!!
We were first-time visitors and we had Brooke as our waitress. She was phenomenal from beginning to end with her recommendations, delivery of service, and upbeat mannerisms. We had an excellent time and will be returning in April to sit in her section.
Everything was delicious, I had the Cake and Eggs (scrambled). Eggs were not hot, that is the only negative. Ate some of my husband's fried chicken, the BEST! The gravy was also delicious. The drinks were nice as well.
The staff was super nice and accommodating. We had a reservation and got there 15 minutes early and they were able seat us early. Our server did everything right. The atmosphere is light and bright and not too noisy. Overall a great place.
We had an unhurried, delicious lunch at the height of a Friday lunch hour. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, the server was solicitous without being pushy, and the food arrived promptly. We both ordered omelets with home fries. The omelets and fries were served hot and well seasoned. Altogether a great experience!
Food was amazing as usual(been to this location many times), service was great too except they forgot the lemonade for my toddler (didn’t get it until after the meal). Overall, awesome. Highly recommend it. You can’t really go wrong with any items on the menu.
Good food, good service.
Killer ribeye with chimichuri sauce. Welcome to flavor town and a perfectly cooked steak. Get the giant pop tart or you will regret it forever!
I would recommend making a reservation, especially if you’re planning on coming for brunch on the weekends. The lines can be insane. Food is good and reasonably priced. Nothing to absolutely rave about, but it’s always consistent and something to comfort you and count on.
Service was terrible, waiter forgot items and had to be reminded multiple times. The actual food was great but the service really ruined the occasion for us.
There's a reason this place often has a wait to get a table. Great food, service, ambiance at a reasonable price. Our server Billy was busy but still made time for us!
Our waitress was very rude, but when we let the manager know, he spoke with her immediately and our delicious pop tarts were on the house. After the “intervention” she was more friendly and our food was great. Iron Rooster continues to be one of my “go to” places for brunch.
Can’t beat a place that serves all day breakfast. Love the home fries and pancakes with strawberries/whip cream. My go-to spot for reliable and consistently great breakfast.
The Iron Rooster in Canton offers easy parking, good (comfort) food, and a casual environment. We enjoyed a lovely, unhurried lunch on a wintry day. I certainly recommend this restaurant.
I cannot sing enough praises about Iron Rooster. I ordered the Crab Cake Benny and my husband ordered the fried chicken w/ french toast. Everything was perfect and so good! The chicken wasn't dry, but super juicy and seasoned well. The french toast was still a little crispy and had a wonderful flavor of apple and vanilla. My crab cakes had big chunks of crab, and the hollandaise was perfectly buttery. So.So.Good!
We decided at the end to try the brown sugar cinnamon "Roostart", which is their take on a pop-tart.
#1- that joker is huge. It's perfect for splitting (which we did).
#2- The pastry was phenomenal, as was the filling, as was the glaze... You get the picture.
#3- It was warm!! Oh man, so good.
We went here for brunch on New Years Day and had reservations, which was a great help! There was a line out the door when we arrived and it was very hectic.....the service was a little slow and we found out that one of the waiters' was having issues, so the manager took over our table. We got our orders, had a great brunch, and when we went to pay they couldn't find our ticket so only charged us for a starter. This was above and beyond what we deserved, and we were very humbled he would do that for us. For that reason, and the great food, we will go back again soon. You should too....
As busy as it was on New Years, our service could not have been better. Made reservation in advance and was seated right away. Food was timely and delicious, definitely recommend.
Food took a little longer than expected to arrive at the table considering it wasnt terribly crowded. Also there is a door towards the back that accesses the patio area but it sits between tables and when people entered and exited a draft came in which can cause peoples food to cool fast. Maybe as a suggestion that door can be locked being as though its winter and the patio area isnt in use.
We celebrated a birthday and had brunch.
Had a mini law school reunion there and it was perfect we got breakfast and talked for hours, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder’
Great breakfast food and service. Definitely a favorite spot for our family!
Was disappointed. Creative menu, but actual food was just average at best. Expectedfood than we had. Very, very noisy. Impossible to have a conversation.
Great breakfast food at a reasonable price and service with a smile. They just need to add cappuccinos and espressos to their limited “brewed coffee only”’offerings.
We were seated by a door that, when opened, let a lot of cold air in.
