Iron Horse Tavern - Sacramento
Being in the 60+ demographic, Iron Horse Tavern was too loud for a pleasant dining experience. But on the upside, the noise drowned out the sweet, crying baby in our group. The food and service were very good. Parking on a busy weekend night was a pain and a little expensive. I don't think I would go back to this restaurant as I prefer dinner conversation that is not at the top of my lungs, but the young people with us thoroughly enjoyed it.
Had reservation and got there early but still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Good food. Good drinks.
Iron Horse Tavern never disappoints and the Bar is fantastic!!
Went here for Valentine’s Day and the menu was good. Really liked that they didn’t make us stick to a prefix menu like most places do.
Excellent food flavors, warm atmosphere, solid service.
For 30$, the portion that make a dish expensive(lobster) was severely lackluster.
7/10 experience. The future possibility of coming back is intact, however it’ll be for different reasons than food.
Great food and service. Our waiter, Angel, was outstanding.
Great food! Look forward to trying more menu items in the future.
Well done restaurant week menu. Bar was busy so the service was a tad slow but not significant.
I had to wait a little bit even though we set a reservation, but I always enjoy the food. It was definitely worth traveling through the storm and traffic to have dinner. Our server was great and made it worth while.
Good food good service. 👌🏽
This was my second time at Iron Horse Tavern but it was my wife’s first time. We both ordered their Steak, Eggs, ‘N Cakes. My wife sub’d her cornbread pancake out for fried potatoes and she loved it. My dish was ok as my steak was a little over cooked.
Came for NYE. They were not giving away props like NYE headbands or poppers or blowers like other places. Asked the waitress and she said they have a box of props but only given to staff. Food was tastefully good. We were a party of 6 and my BF ordered a rib eye steak Medium and it came about 10 min after everyone’s food came out. I had to flag waitress down to let her know. Customer service needs some adjustment, I didn’t feel the warmth from the staff.
Food was pretty good and although the staff were nice, the service lacked. Also, I asked for a side salad and the waitress said they had side salads. I received and was charged for a full size salad and the waitress said that is the salad option they have. My husband ordered a ribeye medium rare and it was medium well. The waitress was nice but seemed to be spacey in forgetting and overlooking things. Our friend ordered a salad instead of fries and it had no dressing or toppings. She didnt to complain
We have been here several times and it was good as always.
Very comfortable to eat outdoors even on New Years Eve! Outdoor heaters made it quite nice! We were a group of 5 that ordered different dishes..and all were very good! Cocktails were well made, and our waitress was wonderful!
Exceptional service… And a great happy hour
Never fails!!!! Everything is absolutely delish! Met up with friends for happy hour. Appetizers and pizzas are half off
Great place! Well done Morgan!
Good food and drinks (although I wish they would serve pitchers of beer) and great service. Nice place to kick back with friends. A little loud, but fun.
Service was great. Lots of menu and beer options. Food was very good
I went here with my friends for my birthday & we had the best time! The happy hour menu is so yummy and so cheap. And the portions are HUGE! Will be coming back with my husband!
First time here to checkout the place. Good food, nice atmosphere, and great service from our server, Katy/Kaley!
Great atmosphere and service. Food was delicious as well. Drink menu is decent and many different types of beers on tap. Went early evening and they opened up the glass panels to make the restaurant open air and the nice breeze out was pleasant. Great service and not too crowded at least on a Tuesday night. I would recommend for cocktails/beer and food.
The best time to go is on the happy home time, 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm which is 50% off on specific entry.
This is our second visit to Iron Horse. It's location is great for when we attend concerts across the street at Ace of Spades. Great beer and drink selection as well. I had a pizza and my wife had the Bouillabaisse.
Our group of ten enjoyed the food and setting at Iron horse grill. Only problem was lack of utensils. We had to ask for basic items (spoons, knives etc) Server explained that it was a busy wkend and restaurant was trying to get bk on track and place settings (napkins/utensils) were still being addressed....
Server was friendly and efficient. Drinks were good and food was at the table in a flash! My husband loves the loco moco and I can’t get enough of the beef stroganoff. Great meal!
Subpar Experience at Iron Horse
Been to this restaurant about 10 times in last couple years and first time, I have ranked them so poorly.
Experience started off very good, quick to the table and initial drink/appetizer ordered taken and delivered quickly.
After that service was very slow and unattentive. Took about 20 minutes after we ordered a second round of drinks for the drinks to arrive.
The food that arrived was definitely not up to the normal standards of Iron Horse, and was just okay at best.
They have an outstanding menu. Poke Nachos, Korean Fried Chicken, Steak Eggs n' Cakes, Luau Shrimp Salad, all were wonderful. Also, a great beer, wine and cocktail. You won't be disappointed here.
Overall, I love this place. The way it's set up is great and the outdoor dining is nice. The service was great and friendly, especially since everyone was either celebrating graduations or Father's Day. The only thing I could say is that, I made a reservation for 1:45 and we our table was not cleaned off and ready until about 2:00. However, I understand it was busy and it's not their fault that they have to wait for tables to be open and free from their previous guests. Thank you and I will be visiting again.
Our big group had reservations for 12:30 and wasn’t seated until 1:00. Then it took another half hour to order our food. I get that they were really busy but what’s the point of making reservations when we had to wait a half hour? It was just frustrating since we had a couple kids with us and we didn’t end up eating until 1.5 hours after our reservation time.
First time visiting this location for father's day brunch...we all loved it. Louisa was our waitress and she was wonderful.
We arrived on Father’s Day morning excited to have breakfast at Iron Horse Tavern. This wasn’t my first time here but it was the first visit for my husband and our 2 girls. We arrived to find out our seats were outside which we didn’t mind considering we placed our reservations the day before. My reasoning for the low rating is because my husbands wings came out undercooked and bloody. My husband instantly lost his appetite. When brought to our waitress’ attention she didn’t apologize. She just asked if he wanted another order or to have it taken off the bill. I loved this restaurant so much before this but we most likely won’t be returning.
Great food and atmosphere! It took a little bit longer to order food but the waitress did give us good service to the best of her ability despite how busy it was.
It was the perfect level of noisy-enough so our small children didn’t seem loud. The food was delicious and our server was fantastic! There were a lot of people there post-work for happy hour but also a few families enjoying an early dinner.
Their happy hour is great! The pretzel starter was so good.
We went to the Iron Horse Tavern for our first time on Mother’s Day and it was an awesome experience! We thoroughly enjoyed each of our meals and can’t wait to come back to try more items on the menu. It was a fun atmosphere and our waitress Louisa was so sweet and helpful. We can’t wait to return!
This was a nice Mother's Day brunch experience.
