Ther service was good and he chef had great sense of humor that added to the entertaining dinner preparation. The only thing I give lower score is the food were all over seasoned with soy sauce and tonkatsu sauce. The bacon wrapped scallops for appetizer had tonkatsu sauce on it that I would normally just sprinkle black pepper and lemon juice since bacon has saltiness. So as the shrimps, steak, chicken and lobster were all season with soy sauce very strong. I’m glad I ordered white steam rice instead of fried rice. Other than the food, it was awesome experience.
Disappointed this time in Iron Chef. It is a tradition that my spouse and I come here every Christmas day for dinner. This year, the chef wasn't very much into the show (even though there were 2 younger girls at our table who had never experienced Hibachi before) and did not interact much. Also, when another guest complained about the food he just said I don't know why that would be, and did not try to fix the situation. Also, took forever to get refills on water, beer, and the basic steamed rice that came with the meal. I could understand if they were swamped, but by the time we got there the restaurant was fairly empty. It is a tradition so we will keep coming, but with the number of new hibachi restaurants opening up in the area - if Iron Chef doesn't step up their game, i'm afraid they won't be around much longer. It was quick though.... we were in and out of the restaurant in under 45 mins.
We had steak and shrimp and the flavor was ok, the steak was asked for medium rare - we got closer to rare. Again, we were ok with that, but I know of others who would not have been.
We got seated quickly - but we had also made sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Moderate at best this time around.
We used to love this place. I was never able to finish my food. Now, it's overpriced, portions are scares and they got rid of sprouts but didn't make up for the loss by replacing them with more veggies or rice. Lastly, and most importantly I had the chef lose control of his fire wand it landed in my chest on fire, burnt my hair and not one!, not one person offered help, compensation or a word. They just hovered to see if I was going to throw a fit, I did not. But very disappointed they chose to ignore an incident that potentially could have caused severe burns to a customer. They also overcharged us by almost 50.00! Luckily i caught it. We will not be back.
Mediocre food experience that would have been a lot better if the group next to us weren't so loud (drunk). Also, we felt very rushed as the check was brought out while we were still eating and no one offered to get us a second drink. Kind of a bummer, since we spent more time waiting for a table (despite reservations) than actually enjoying our meal. Probably won't go back.
Our cook was Anthony and he made our 5year anniversary special. He was fun, talkative, outgoing, great entertainment. If you go ask for Anthony, while waiting there was a different chef at a table who looked boring. Anthony made the first time going a great first experience.
Took a group of 2 children, 1 teenager and 5 adults. One person had never experienced teppanyaki and really enjoyed the show. The kids liked the show and were engaged by the chef which was nice. The food was great, including the fried rice which was ordered by two of the party. Very enjoyable, and good pace to dinner.
Our family of 7 went for Easter dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was prompt and courteous. Our reservation was for 1 pm which is when they open on Sunday so there was not a crowd. We were seated as soon as we all arrived. Tables are designed for 8 so if your party is smaller you may be seated with another party or if larger you will have to utilize 2 tables. Prices were a little high but considering you are paying for entertainment in addition to the food it was reasonable. expect $35-$40/ person depending on what entree you choose. Our chef was great. Said his name was... Sum Yung Gui with "stage name' of Peter. He bantered with us the entire time he was cooking. Did some trick I had never seen before. Since it was Easter he made the fried rice into a Rabbit head shape. It is a large open space (kind of warehouse like) but for me did not detract from the experience.
My fiance and I went in for a nice dinner to your restaurant on Saturday. We had early reservations for 4:30. When we arrived, we stood and waited for a while before anyone would even greet us. When a lady approached, I said we had reservations. Instead of welcoming us she simply yelled, "I dont care about reservations, how many?" When I said 2, she immediately rushed us to a table with people who were already through with their soup. My fiance and I had to wait about 15 minutes before we got our soup (our soup came with the salad). We then ordered drinks. My soda came about 10 minutes later ,and my fiance had to ask several times for his beer.
When we went to order, My fiance ordered an appetizer and the lady just yelled "we are too busy for appetizers!" I was shocked they wouldn't let him order an appetizer. The place only had a few tables full! He was disappointed because he was really looking forward to those. I couldn't believe how horribly we were being treated.
Then, once the chef arrived, he seemed really disoriented and was doing everything strangely. I paid extra for fried rice, however his fried rice didn't have ANY veggies in it. It was literally rice, egg, and soy sauce. This was something I was looking forward to- and was super upset I had to pay extra for basically someone to add egg to my rice. It was horrible.
Then, the chef barely seasoned everything else. I watched the other chefs working and it seemed like they were adding a lot more butter and sauce to their meats. This guy was adding hardly anything.
In the end, my fiance and i were both extremely disappointed to pay $90.35 for such horrible service, and a horrible meal. I would have rather gone to Applebees and saved the money.
My husband and I had the WORST experience at Iron Chef, we had reservations at 8.15pm and the "chef" didn't start cooking our meal until almost 9.30pm. We paid extra for fried rice which wasn't even complete (missing eggs) and was burnt. Our experience was completly rushed because they served us late and the establishment closed at 10pm. The staff were aware we were being treated with poor customer service and they did nothing, instead completly avoided our table. I called the manager the next buisness day to tell him about our evening at his resturant and all he could say was that it would be too "hard" to find out what went wrong even we I told him the time we were there and what table we were at. The worst customer service I have ever seen, and I work in customer service this was completly unacceptable. I will never visit there resturant again, not when your paying almost $100 for two people and could recieve better service at a fast food joint.
We had a party of 5, the service was good and the food was good. We made a reservation for 5:30 and were seated right at 5:30 and back in the car at 6:30. There was another couple of 2 that also sat at our table, so if you think you'll have a table all to yourself, think again. You may be sitting with other couples with one chef cooking for you. Overall we had a great time.
