Restaurant IRON Ratings and Reviews
Great winter menu. Love to see a change in menu for variety. Hats off to the Chef for a very inventive menu. Phenomenal taste, knowledgeable server, and great atmosphere. Food portions were smaller than usual, so we felt that price was a bit high for portions. $42 for duck entree and portion was very small. Only 2 bok choy stems.
We can’t wait to come back because food quality is still amazing. We love coming here.
Iron really had a bad night. I had the Boudin meatballs and it was very tough, and the meat tasted very Gainey. The pasta and sauce tasted like out of a frozen dinner and it was very pricey. I was soooo disappointed. My sister had the chicken which was very average seasoned in black eyed peas/Beana which were very unseasoned. Even the Cesar salad lacked adequate amount of dressing. Just not a good value for how pricey. My sisters friend got the 3 serving ice cream and not creamy enough, tasted like mint flavored ice. Bottom line is I’m not sure I’ll go back. First few times at Iron were amazing. This last time was a total flop :(
We visited the restaurant for New Years Eve and had a wonderful experience. The tasting menu was delicious with new and interesting presentations. Our server was attentive but not overly so, just the right amount. Loved all the cocktails served throughout the night. Overall a great night out.
I spent New Year's at Restaurant Iron to enjoy a gourmet meal in Pensacola FL. There are not many places in Pensacola that have an Executive Chef to prepare a gourmet meal with beverage pairings to compliment the courses. New Year's Eve is a delightful occasion and Restaurant Iron delivered a culinary delightful experience.
Im from Paris France. My review is this one:
The Service is amazing and the food is good (But my duck not so great)
To be honest I'm kind of disappointed..Just an example:
We ordered some meals served with sauce...So I asked for bread (logical, not?)
It took forever to get it because your kitchen had to grilled it...
When the bread came ,my dish was almost finished..
And to be honest...I was IN SHOCK to be charge $2.00 for that!!
I know its only TWO bucks but honestly???
My diner was missing un je ne sais quoi, sorry.
Maybe I was expected so much after what I heard from your place.
PS THE WAITER WAS AMAZING
We had a phenomenal evening at Iron! There were 5 in our group and we were celebrating Friendsmas! Patrick did a fantastic job catering to our every need, without overwhelming us constantly. The drinks were amazing, but the food was out of this world! Every bite was delightful and delectable. The dishes created by the chef are anything but normal. He does an incredible job with combining uncommon flavors to create the perfect palate that appeases the senses. We shared a couple of desserts among us and again, were blown away! Restaurant Iron is not the least expensive meal in Pensacola, but it is worth the price! Looking forward to our next visit!
Exceptionally good service. I’m pretty sure the owner/ head chef was making out with his girlfriend next to us. The food is awesome, and the atmosphere is great... his demeanor, however, seems childish. This is my first review I’ve ever written. Best regards, Allen
P.S... Roll Tide
I had dinner with a dear Friend of more than 20 years of history. We were celebrating a significant birthday for her. We were so surprised and delighted with we went to our table and the menu's had a personalized birthday wish to my dear friend. Such a very nice touch and thank you for making our already special time even more special. We had beautiful tastings of sorbet's and it was just light and lovely. Many thanks to all of the staff and to Alex for bring his wonderful and delectable food to downtown Pensacola, Iron is one of our favorite places to eat in Pensacola!
We had perfect end of counter seating where we could view everything that was going on throughout the restaurant, including watching the chefs prepare and plate the food. The service was great and they made my daughter feel very special. They even had "!!!Happy 21st Birthday Alison!!!" printed at the top of the menu. I nice surprise. All of the chefs signed her menu and the waitress who was wonderful, drew a heart around the drinks Alison had and wrote happy birthday. They provided dessert sample tray with a candle in it to surprise her further. I could not have been more happy with the moment created by staff. It was definitely a birthday dinner to remember. I am grateful.
Our waiter was very attentive for the whole evening. He made sure we had everything we needed, and brought drinks often.
If I had a suggestion, it would be to allow a healthy substitution for sides. We had the steak for two, which was amazing. However, the very delicious truffle fries ruin the diet plan.
Its good for a date night. I will definitely go again for special occasions. I would not go on a regular basis, because the menu is pricey.
Dressy Casual. Creative upscale dining. Service was good. Server was relatable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Bar is bustling. Atmosphere was lively. Bone marrow w/ crawfish appetizer was ok but wouldn't order again. Buffalo Oyster appetizer was very good. Foie Gras appetizer was excellent with a unique combination of flavors that unexpectedly go very well together. Brown Butter and Thyme Lamb T-Bone was artistically plated, and delicious. Cheshire Pork 3 Ways: Very good pork chop, however the dissembled boudin which the chop sat atop was far too spicy and overwhelmed the entire plate. I would not order this dish again. The Venison Osso Bucco with fried parsnips while good, was not notable - however it was served on one of the best risottos I've ever tasted.
Very enjoyable evening out. Date friendly restaurant, though not especially romantic.
Well worth the visit.
