I love when we get to eat at Iron because the food and service is phenomenal. And while expensive, I always leave SO FULL and with a doggie bag. #worthit
Food was delicious, unique, creative. Same for cocktails. Highly recommend
The dinner was excellent and the service was outstanding....it was a birthday dinner and they gave my partner a FREE desert....small thing but makes a difference..... The IRON is a unique experience and the cost is worth the experience.
I would tell anyone looking for a DIFFERENT FOOD VALUE and quality, the IRON is the place to go.
Incredible food and even better service; 10/10 would recommend
Easy to see why after 1500 Opentable reviews IRON had a score of 4.9. Chef Alex and our server Amber did an exquisite job of service and cullinary taste. Had a chance to sit at the counter where all the action was which was very interesting. Having dined at many fine restaurants across the US their duck was some of the best I have ever had. A must try if in the Pensacola area.
Went at 6 PM on a Sat night. Our server was Nick, and he was excellent. Def the best part of the evening for me. The restaurant’s AC is inadequate. The front of the restaurant was very warm while the restroom area was very cold. Both my date and myself were sweating despite being in summer clothes. The food was ok, but none of our dishes were especially hot when they reached the table. This was perplexing. I’m not sure if the kitchen was preparing things too soon and they were sitting under the lights or if there was a delay in getting them to the table by the runners. Same for both our entrees and appetizers. My Moscow Mule wasn’t served in a copper mug. Again, very strange if you’re familiar with that cocktail. The food tasted fine, but it was extremely complicated and it lacked anything that really stood out. The crawfish cakes were mushy, not a crisp fried cake as one would expect. The brussel sprout app had a good flavor, but they were served at basically room temp which ruined them for me. As a resident of New Orleans for many years, I know good food when I have it. I think the chef here may have an over aggrandized vision of his capabilities. Complex is not always best. In fact I’ve found the opposite to be true. Simple food cooked well and timed correctly will always be superior. When this is compared to the astronomical price of dining here I left with a sort of ho hum feel about it. If you want me to pay these prices you better blow my doors off. Restaurant Iron failed to do that for me.
We arrived early for our reservation but was still seated instantly. Everyone from the staff was amazing. But most of all my hat is off to the kitchen staff and the bartenders. I had one of the best nights out ever and ate and drank some of the best drinks and most amazing food.
I am sure the chefs are highly trained. But they are trying way too hard. Have a signature dish or two. And the fish. Really??? We live in a place with some of the greatest seafood choices in the country: red fish, scamp, snapper, trigger.. and your offering? Tilefish? You want a side of mercury with that fish? Go buy your fish at Joe Pattis and you’ll be fine.
Food was excellent as always...cannot wait to make up another ‘excuse’ to eat there again!
Minor temperature issue with duck breast but aside from that we had an amazing experience! 6 out of 5 stars :)
We really enjoyed the food and the ambience at the Iron Restaurant.
Food was awesome as usual. Lea was an excellent waitress
Great ambience, good food, excellent service and tasty drinks...highly recommended!!
Everything from the time we walked in the door, ‘til we walked out was wonderful! The staff are excellent! The food is excellent! The drinks were excellent! The service was excellent. We had nice little chats with our table neighbors! It was a perfect night! Thank you!
Had a wonderful time with my family. We enjoy 😊 the food and atmosphere will definitely be back.
Took my daughters here for a late night dinner. We had an enjoyable time and plan to return soon.
Very special place with great service and most interesting presentation and creative cuisine.
I went to Iron once and it was ok. I thought I'd give it a try again. I made a reservation for 2, to take a friend for her Birthday. Our table was not ready on time, so we were seated late and at a different table than expected. We sat for 10 mins until a server came and said he would take our drink orders but not our food order. A couple came in about 5 mins later and did not have a reservation and was sat immediately and within 5 mins they had a server at their table and our drinks had still jot arrived. It had been about 25 mins at that point with no drinks, no food order put in and no one had checked on us. I work In customer service and the company I work for is ranked on Forbes top 100 for best service. If I am coming to a place that I am about to drop a couple hundred dollars in, I expect top notch service. I will not be back and I will not reccomend Iron. I live in Pensacola and am very active in the social foodie and cocktail scene, so dissatisfied with you Iron.
Anniversary. Food was great as usual. Hayden was our server again and did an excellent job again. There was a popular concert at Vinyl so the place was a bit busier and noisier than usual. There were also a couple birthdays. I saw a few people I knew so all this contributed to the stepped up activity and less anniversary talk, but none of this is the fault of Iron. We are never disappointed there. Started going when we could walk to it from our house at Marcus Pointe. And we will continue, it is by far one of the finest restaurants around.
Food, drinks and service were amazing as always! Highly recommended!
We selected Iron for our 53rd Anniversary because we wanted a special place that offered innovative, high quality food, good wines and great service. We were pleased, as always, with Alex's offerings/ preparation and that night with Nick's attentive service. It was a nice touch to see our names at the top of the menu. All in all a wonderful night
Everything was wonderful
Wonderful dinner! I had the veal and my husband had the duck. Both were wonderful. I tasted my husband's and I will have that next time. Cant wait to go back.
We had a birthday dinner for my husband & daughter there. From the time we walked in the door we were treated like royalty! Our server Nick was one of the best we’ve ever had. He was very knowledgeable about all of the menu items, very kind & fun at the same time. I would recommend you ask for him if you visit. Food presentation was beautiful & tasted wonderful. We had the duck breast, cioppino, lamb and fish of the day. My husband thought it was in the top 3of his favorite restaurants.
Excellent food, best ribeye in my life! Very unique, creative menu
Iron never disappoints! Unique food, gorgeous cocktails!
An amazing meal - consistently fantastic! We took my daughter, who was visiting from out of state, and she loved it also - she said it was “the best meal of her life” - and we agree!
We only ordered appetizers because it was so COLD in the restaurant. The vents we’re blowing freezer cold air directly on the table, and the once-warm food was cold in two bites. Disappointed as we’d heard so many good things about this place. Maybe we can return in the winter.
Iron reminded me of the spots you would find in a bustling, busy city such as Seattle. Its crowded and loud but in an organized and comforting way. The service was fantastic, the food delicious and the drinks were on point, in beauty and taste. Great cocktail specials on Thursdays! I woll definitely be back!
We love this restaurant! Thursday night drink specials are a plus!
Our server and our food were both excellent. Our only complaint about Iron is that tables are very close together and you can hear the conversations going on next to you and obviously they can hear yours. We still like it but probably wouldn't go there for a special occasion or a business dinner.
We had a wonderful time and the enjoyed delicious food. My only complaint is that it was a very cold in the restaurant - shivered the entire time.
Fantastic! We can't wait to take another trip to Pensacola just to eat here again! OMG!
Cannot say enough about this experience. Iron is a journey that encourages their patrons to take a different path with every visit. You feel extremely comfortable leaving your “Go-To’s” and taking some risks with the guidance of a knowledgeable staff. Out waiter, Nick, answered all of our questions about appetizers, drinks, entree’s and even his current dating situation. This was the only place I had in mind when picking my wife’s birthday dinner.
Consistently the best restaurant in Pensacola. Always enjoy our time here.
We come here once a year while on vacation in Perdido Key. I love each menu item I've tried on 5 separate occasions. The food is excellent and the wait staff is top notch. My wife noted that we've seen a few people on the wait staff a few times...which means it's a good work environment for them to stay year after year. The only issue my wife has is that each year she finds a dish that she loves and the next year it is gone. I, on the other hand, like the expanded menus and enjoy finding something new each year. One staple appetizer that I always get is the Brussels Sprouts; the best I've ever had. I realize that wine and cocktails are a big part of this restaurant, but we do not drink alcohol. That being said, they have a great selection of unique sodas that, I believe, are local. And we always enjoy that as well. Do yourself a favor and try Restaurant Iron. We'll see you next year!
Fantastic- best in Pensacola by far - excellent eclectic food and awesome cocktails
One of our best meals there, and ever! The attention to detail and flavor combinations can’t be beat.
