You can park on the street (the meters run till 10:00, 7 nights a week), or at the EasyPark on Water St. - it's a secure, patrolled lot with 600 spaces, just half a block away from our door.

If you're not familiar with Gastown (or if you're a visitor to Vancouver), you can get directions to our location from Google Maps.

Taxis: Pick up and drop off right at our front door.

Went for my Birthday with my family. Food was fantastic and I had a whisky I had never had before. Staff was knowledgeable and it is great to hear Irish accents.

Only complaint I had was our table. Tucked away in the corner behind a wall. We couldn't see the bar - only the doors to the washrooms. I should have asked to be moved.

I'll be back though - cause I love the "Heather".

What ever you do don't order off of the backside of the menu, especially if you didn't have lunch. It's like ok, you know when you're super poor and you eat crackers, cheese and lunch meat? It's like that. Don't do it!

Great whisky list and excellent cocktails but the food was awful. Would go back for a drink but go elsewhere for food. We had the curry fries, veggie burger, and lobster Mac and cheese.

Went to IH due to reviews on Open Table. I wonder if my service was based on the fact that I was a single, retired guy. Meal started out fine. Waitress was attentive, salad was well made. Beer and Beef pie was really only beer and beef. No vegetables. Great mashed potatoes. I expected more variety in the pie. At that time my waitress was off shift. I was then lost among only 3 other tables. No one came and asked if my meal was good. I had to go to the bar to get a second beer. I had to go back to the bar to get my bill. If they had been busy I could say they had an excuse. They seemed to have a nice bar. I would have rated the place higher if service had been normal. They seemed to be having a separate event because there were a lot of people passing thru the bar. Maybe that was distracting management or wait staff from their work.

Our server was a fantastic girl from Ireland, she was charming and lively. Our bartender was Irish as well, and poured an excellent pint of Guinness.
Love the fact that there are no screens up everwhere, music was at a volume you could still speak over. Oh an they have authentic Tayto crisps. Regrets? Only that I hadn't discovered how magical this place was before now. A real treat, especially if you have been to a real Irish pub before, and know the truth.

From the GIANT scotch and whiskey menu, to the unique pairings of food (e.g., the mac n cheese sandwich with kimchi... yum!), to the friendly service, this place is a win-win!! We would definitely return:)

One problem we encountered was with the reservation system. We found it almost impossible to contact a human being to make a change or to get direct answers to simple questions. In the end, we did not really need a reservation as the restaurant was only about 3/4 full when we arrived. After we were seated, the food and service were fine.

We waited at the front door for about five minutes and nobody helped us. We had to track down an employee at the end of the bar just to get seated at our reserved table. Otherwise, great wait staff and food.

I have been here a couple of times before and while nothing was bad enough for me to single out nothing was great either.
This last time though left a really bad taste in our mouths. I reserved a table on Open Table, called an hour and a half before we arrived to add another guest to our reservation and the person over the phone told me that it was fine and they'd noted it in their system.
After arriving, the person seating us (same person as on the phone) told us there was no reservation under my name.
I told him that I'd made the reservation on Open Table and have the confirmation, to which he said was unreliable and proceeded to scald me for not calling to confirm my reservation.
When I told him that I had called less than two hours ago and spoken directly to him, he grumbled about not remembering every phone call and trying to find a spot for us.
First he tried to sit three of us at a two seat table.
When we said that was unacceptable we were ushered into the Shebeen Bar in the back where got a table. Fine.
Service for our meal was fine. The server (an Irish gentleman) was great, attentive, accommodating and funny despite the stress of the bar having eftpos issues.
He disappeared and we were attended to by a younger waitress who promptly forgot about us and we waited more than half an hour for our bill after we asked for it.
Service (with the exception of the Irish gentleman in Shebeen) is always like they're seeing to your needs over their dead body.
They have a decent selection of whisky but the service of their staff really lets them down.

I went on St. Paddy's Day, so I expected it to be busy, but I didn't expect to have to wait 20-30 minutes to be seated at the table I reserved and only given a table for 2 when our reso was for 6. Also, they ran out of the pot pie and subbed a soup/stew instead which we had to eat with forks. The beer took 30 mins and arrived kind of warm. I'm sure it was related to the craziness of the holiday, but I feel the management could have been a bit better.

Excellent upscale pub food with an extensive list of whisky and whiskey. A must for anyone who wants to expand their whisk(e)y drinking experience.

Love the ambiance and aesthetic here. Older crowd and a bit loud. The whiskey selection is intense. It's overall a really good choice. Always busy and enjoyable.
