We have been to irradescence a few times. Always a great experience for us. But our visit on fathers day was even more exceptional. We took my parents there for fathers day dinner. My mom just got out of the hospital 2 weeks ago for some very serious issues, of which she has only so much time with us left. She is on a strict low sodium diet because of this. The staff at irradescence went out of their way to accommodate her for this. They manager got us a table instead of the high top when he seen her, he knew right away she couldn't sit at the high top "for anyone who hasn't been there, the high top seats have the best view". And our waitress rocked, she was kind, compassionate, and caring to my mothers needs. It was a wonderful experience.
The Food was beyond excellent and the service was outstanding.
Decor inside was very pretty, but ambiance was less romantic than I expected. I liked the semicircular booth we had.
Food was "fine" I guess, but pricey. For the price I would have definitely expected something more memorable. I enjoyed the meal enough but it wasnt anything to write home about.
Service was...sparse. A man kept our water glasses full but seemed as fearful of conversation as a Stepford wife. Our actual waitress visited only every 20 - 25 minutes or so and for some reason used a fake accent for all of her interactions with us - and not a good one either. I'd venture it was 70 or so percent British, 10% French, 5% Irish and the rest good ole slangy midwest. But the question remains - why?
The melting chocolate globe dessert (the reason we came) was pretty, but disappointing. The flavor profile was not high end and sophisticated, just chocolate fudge inside of chocolate - I didn't think too much chocolate was possible, but apparently it is. The fact that the dessert came with a piece of someone else's hair almost didn't phase us at that point as we had already made our decision about the restaurant. We didn't even bother to tell the management.
It wasn't the worst dining experience I've had by any means, but the next time I feel like dropping $160 on dinner for two I will not be spending my money at Iridescence.
Our Server Sarah was fantastic and super helpful with all her recommendations. We have dined at Iridenscence many times before and I have to say I am sad to see meal items - like my favorite filet mignon - no longer being served with the mashed potatoes and asparagus that has accompanied it in the past each time I ordered it and now side items need to be ordered separately.....yet the cost of the filet is still the same price if not more as it was when it was a complete meal. Definitely makes me feel we are no longer getting a fair price for our meals (especially when we are coming from an hour away to enjoy your restaurant).
Very good food and beautiful view. Slightly over priced. Parlay because you are a captive audience for the casino.
The food and the service of iridescent was absolutely wonderful view was outstanding and the quietness while you ate was a incredible, all around ,it was wonderful evening 0n 6th anniversary, THANKYOU.
The restaurant is beautiful, the window seating is superb, and the service could not have been better. Our server was Helios(?), and he gave us just the right amount of involvement at the table. The "shrimp grits" that accompanied my wife's short ribs were not to her liking, but that may be a matter of taste. My filet was just a tad overdone, but not enough for me to send it back. It was still extremely flavorful and tender.
I am not a gambler. My wife and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. I don’t gamble so we paid for our dinner. Overall was too expensive for what we got. The view was spectacular.
The overall dining experience is terrific . . so are the wait staff and employees. But, the food is over priced. The quality is good just not terrific. The $65.00 Ribeye was good but I have had better steak. The Garden Salad was bland. We have had better salads there before . . this one was not great.
Helios was really good. I’ll be back.
What a change from 2017 when I gave a 5 star review to Iridescence. Our experience there recently was a big disappointment. Unable to get a window table, we were taken to a booth in which our only view was of the sky-literally- no view whatsoever. Upon inquiring whether we could move to a table which would have afforded us at least some view- the waitress told us all the (empty) tables were taken but she would check if perhaps one might be available. We were escorted to the smallest table off to the side for 4 available which made dinner challenging balancing so many plates- but still only afforded a partial view to our out of town company. After accepting all of the above and trying to settle in, we then tried to endure service that although trying to be very attentive, was actually burdensome in that we were constantly being hovered over and interrupted. The moment a plate looked empty- it was promptly taken. Somewhat of a problem in that when our guests finished their main entree- the plates were removed and we had to request plates and utensils again so they could finish some of the sides that were still on the table. Food was OK- filet somewhat overcooked. By the end of the night the "reserved", larger, tables that we we not offered were still empty. I did not feel like I was dining at a premier Detroit venue and I won't plan to return for any future special events as it was not the special memorable evening I intended for my out of town guests that I've experienced in the past.
Due to my gluten issue i must be really careful. I was given a dish that i was told was gluten free and it was not. Due to this i have been sick going on 4 days now. The server was very sorry as was the manager. This still doesn't help my cause! I Marked on my reservation that i had a gluten allergy and still it was an issue. It was as if no one really was concerned just sorry it happen hope it doesn't happen again my bad sad when a five star restaurant handles things in this manner. Thanks Andrea Nicholson
This is not my first time eating at Iridescence so far every experience that I’ve had there has been exceptional the quality of the food and the service are above expectation very knowledgeable and friendly staff and workers I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to go out for a quiet very nice elegant dinner!
Simply - this was the Most Expensive - Horrible meal my husband and I ever had!
I love this place. Beautiful view and fantastic service. But the food is amazing.
Thank too Oretha, David, Joshua , and Mohamed who all helped my wife and I celebrate our 20th year anniversary.
Wonderful service. Delicious food and wonderful view of Detroit. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The new chef at Iridescence has created a whole new dining experience. We were more than delighted with the flavors and innovations of the dishes he created for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
From the moment we approached the host, everything was perfect. All staff we had contact with were very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They were more than willing to make sure we had a pleasurable experience! Would highly recommend!
We had the most incredible dining experience recently at Iridescence. I took my office staff for a retirement dinner and the food was out of this world! We had some incredible appetizers for which I at a loss of the name but they were beautifully presented and very tasty! I’ve added a couple of pictures. The service was amazing with Bao as our server. She was efficient without hovering and quick to get everything we needed. Every dish was beautifully plated... I had the Filet which as excellent, my office staff tried a smattering if the rest of the menu and there were nothing but accolades. The chef dropped by the table to check on us and even consented for a group picture. I’ve included pictures here because much of it was beyond my ability to describe.
Service was good. Food was okay. Desserts are really good
Made the SMALLEST mistake on my meal, and the owner paid for my entire dinner, re-cooked me and my girlfriend’s steaks, and an amazing dessert on top of the bill. Very generous guy and even better with customer service. Atmosphere was amazing. View was great, could not complain. Getting my meal paid for is not what made this place great. The amount of care the waiters/waitresses and the owner gives for the customers and guests is what makes this place worth while. Not to mention the amazing food. 10/10 recommend.
Very nice dinner. My wife’s salmon was undercooked and didn’t want to send it back because she was afraid that it would have been over cooked. Drinks, service, and chocolate sphere were amazing.
We arrived 40 min early & had a drink at the bar. Both bartenders were social & fun. Our waitress Boa & her team were excellent. The menu options seemed normal for a steakhouse/fine dining but not too exciting. However the good was much better than I expected. Beet salad was amazing as well as my wife’s Caesar. Our steaks were cooked perfect. We actually thought they were over cooked by the color but the lighting is very weird & changes throughout your night there. Our waitress assured us in 3-5 min they would look perfect medium-rare & they were. She also treated us to desserts for my birthday & they were both exceptional. Overall, it was a very good experience & I would happily go back.
Excellent food, excellent service. Ask for Boa as your server. You won’t be disappointed from the food, service & great views from the 16th Floor.
Excellent...from when my husband called to say we were running late from Cleveland and our reservation was extended to my husband explaining he forgot his "dress clothes" and inquiring about the dress code...to upon entering the doors being opened wide for our entrance and us being warmly greeting...and the food and presentation was wonderful! All of this made our three hour drive well worth it!
great location. great view. super view of Detroit. Please check out this place. You will enjoy the experience. We added the Chef's tablre + wine pairing to our dinner. $300+
Excellent place to dine with friends or alone, you can't go wrong the food and service was amazing. Our party of 6 was completely happy with their entrée selections. Superb!
Love the Chef's 5 course! Chef came over to table..classy!❤💚💜💙💛
This was my favorite place to eat but, it seem to be charging not the same feel...
Our experience was fabulous!!! Can't wait to go again!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Iridescence. My friend and I went recently before a concert at the Soundboard. The staff that greeted us were so welcoming and warm. Our waiter, Helio, was outstanding. Friendly and warm and very helpful with recommendations. He was very attentive but not overbearing. The young lady that was his assistant was also extremely nice and very efficient. The food was delicious. We had the beet salad- very tasty. We then each had the sea bass that was recommended by Helio and it did not disappoint. Very very fresh with a delicious preparation- including farro. For dessert we had the melting chocolate sphere- as fun to watch melt as it was good to eat! At the end of the evening we received coconut macaroons which were perfect to dip into the remaining caramel sauce from the dessert. The view from the restaurant is quite spectacular with the Detroit skyline and Ambassador bridge and Detroit River. The furnishings and decor are clean and modern and bright. The noise level is low, so you can actually have a good conversation with your friends. Overall it was a very wonderful evening. I have been here several times and it never disappoints and I would definitely return to this restaurant. The service, food and ambience far surpass many of the newer restaurants in Detroit.
Always a good meal with great service. Great view.
Our waiter Helios ( a gentle giant) was Amazing!! GREAT recommendations and precise delivery of service was impeccable!!
First off, I would like to commend our server Chelsea who was helpful and knowledgeable about any dish we asked about. She was attentive to our needs but not in our way. I ordered the pan fried salmon which was perfectly prepared. My boyfriend ordered the steak and said it was delicious and prepared exactly the way he asked, medium rare. We sat by the window and the view was spectacular.
Place was absoutely AMAZING!!! Our waitress Bao was incredible! She went through everything and explained everything with such detail! We loved every second of it and will defintely will be returning!
Food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to come and the steak was under cooked, it was raw.
Had to wait a while from reservation time, was finally offered a table but were not warned that it was a high top. Also had to wait quite a while for one of their electronic menus to be available. Would have been much happier with a paper menu I could look at right away.
What a wonderful dining experience at this fantastic restaurant! Presentation was outstanding and the dinner was excellent for the four of us dining this evening. The view is very nice yet seeing the wine cellar is quite an interesting experience. Service by the staff was excellent.
