Iridescence Ratings and Reviews
The food was immaculate and our host was very thoughtful(Orethea). It was our 7th year anniversary and they brought out a plate written in chocolate --very considerate. It was my wife and I as well as our 2friends first time there. We're already planning our next visit. My wife was extremely happy along with the rest of us. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.
We have eaten at Iridescence twice and both times the food, service, and ambiance were wonderful. On this most recent visit our waitress,Bao, was fantastic and went out her way to make us comfortable and appreciated. Her artistic chocolate plate presentation celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary was a perfect end to a great dining experience..
I have been to Iridescence many time because I enjoy the Ambiance and the great customer service form all the staff and my waitress Bao, who is the best I have had to serve me at many restaurants I frequent to. I always request Bao , and she always do an excellent job at exceeding my expectations.
I’m no expert In fine dining, but the food was amazing. As each dish was put on the table our waitress would tell us exactly what is on the plate. The service was amazing, making sure to ask about allergies to alert the chef if need be. The view was awesome; overall a really lovely date night.
Our party enjoyed this experience from beginning to end. The staff was professional as well very friendly. They did everything make sure that we were comfortable. The food was excellent. We would without reservation recommend Iridescence to all of our friends and colleagues.
the environment was great, the service was perfect and the food was very delicious. The only thing that bothered me is that I requested a city view table when I did my reservation and I called to confirm on the same day in the morning to make sure that they have my request of a city view table and when I arrived they seated us on a table that does not have any view, I told the lady who seated us that I requested a city view table so she asked us if we can wait to get a city view table and then I had to wait for extra 30 minutes to be seated.
I've dined at Iridescence more than 20 times and the food is ALWAYS simply delicious and delightful! Normally the service is impeccable as well. However this time the service was a bit choppy. We ordered "Kai Seki", which is a 7 course chef's choice tasting journey off the menu. It was delicious and the presentation was excellent but apparently the kitchen was thrown off its flow as we waited as long as thirty five minutes between courses. Our waitress became visibly irritated with the kitchen and the manager apologized verbally and knocked $40 off the bill.
So the situation was handled as professionally as one would expect at a high end restaurant like Iridescence. We continue to count it as one of our top choices in Detroit!
This is one of Detroit's long standing superlative dining experiences. Unlike the other fine places located in Casinos, you do not have to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke to get there. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. The view is a panoramic survey of Detroit from the Ambassador bridge to the Ren-Cen and is on its own worth the trip. You can select your options they are all phenomenal but I suggest you let the Chef do his magic. You won regret it. The burgeoning Detroit food scene now offers many choice, I've been to quite a few. If you are interested in high level fine dining, don't let this fall off of your list!
The service and attention to detail at this restaurant is some of the best I've experienced! The food was terrific (although I would have liked to have had a few more choices on the entree menu). Portion sizes were very good, so even though every item is ala carte, I felt the size justified the price. There is special "wine & dine" 4 course menu, which comes at a set/great price, but we did not order from it. My husband I were there for our anniversary and every staff member we came in contact with congratulated us. He ordered the filet and it was so tender he could cut it with a fork, and the chocolate sphere for dessert...to die for! Can a window seat if you can..the view of the city is the icing on the cake!
Great good and our server was phenomenal. However the noise from the kitchen was quite disruptive. We could barely hold a conversation without hearing numbers being called out and the angry man employee, tall and thin) who stood outside of kitchen, arms folded, looking angry, definitely did not make our meal enjoyable.
I had a reservation and was seated immediately. We were sat by the window and the view was amazing. They took care of us like celebrities. We got the 4 course dinner pkg that includes an appetizer, entree, glass of wine, and desert. The chicken was so good, however, I got sick off of it. I'm wondering if it was under cooked. That is the only time I get sick after I eat. I will be back and will ask that they fully cook my food.
Took my bf for Sweetest Day, both our first time. We got the $55 four course + a glass of wine special, which I thought was a value considering its fine-dining with a great view. BF absolutely loved the view and the "Happy Sweetest Day" message I requested (last-minute)be added to his dessert plate.
Server provided standard service, nothing spectacular, but nothing subpar either. I appreciate her answering my bf's questions about the city view.
My bf's food was great. My food was good.
We'll be back.
For a $50+ plate restaurant, service was so-so, polite, but not very attentive. Food was cooked well but not worth the price, in my opinion. View was ok, maybe it was the night and the dreary weather, just not what I thought it would be. Had to ask for water refill twice, never got lemon I asked for with water in the beginning. Bread and additional vinegar and oil never came, over 1.25 hours for main dish and only 7 other tables with patrons. Boxing leftover, while check was paid and waiting to leave, took 10-15 mins and I even had to ask for the leftovers because they were "forgotten" about. I expected much more from the establishment based on the prices and the reviews.
