Food was poor. I did the breakfast buffet and my friend ordered the eggs Benedict. The buffet food was not fresh and poor quality. Best part was the fruit. The eggs were over cooked in the eggs Benedict. Service was basic. Would highly recommend staying away from IPO--at least for brunch.

Went for brunch and unfortunately were ten mins late. The food was greasy and over priced for the quality. Unfortunately not one I would recommend.

IPO is too loud for useful business conversation. We had chosen a 1pm lunch hoping the lunch crowd would have died down. We'll try 11am next time. Food is always good, and the service (Gregory) was, as always, respectful and attentive without being distracting.

Menu was wrong. I purposefully went there for the lobster Benedict that was on the menu on the Internet. It wasn't on the menu when I went there. It was also freezing cold in the dining room and the chairs were too heavy for disabled access.

Went for a quick lunch on my break from work. The decor is BEAUTIFUL. The menu looked amazing. I was still a little confused about their hours of operations but I digress. I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi Tacos and the Ceasar Salad , as well. Both were delicious. I have never had a Mahi Mahi that wasn't dry! Cooked to perfection . Pretty quiet atmosphere.

I went there for a lunch date. The restaurant is located in the W, which can be confusing when trying to find the place. However, the decor is very nice and the staff is friendly. The menu isn't too big, but the food is good. I enjoyed my quinoa bowl that I had, except I was less than enamored with the price. However, the price is about consistent with a lunch entree there... especially in that location. Overall, I would recommend checking this place out!

The staff was very friendly and patient as our group staggered in. It felt like we were able to step away from the typical downtown rush and noise into a comfortable atmosphere. We'll be returning. Good food and service for a reasonable price.

This place is dead for a reason. Typical old school hotel restaurant- seems like a "must have" for their guests who want breakfast more than a destination spot for anybody else in the city.

The waiters and host staff were so busy having their own conversations that they could barely be bothered with us and didn't even respond to our "goodbyes" on departure. Breakfast tables were being set up all around the three tables of lunch diners. Food is fine. Not remarkable, but not disappointing.

This was the worst business lunch I have hosted in twenty-five years! Two meals were delivered promptly. My client's meal arrived 45 minutes after the other two meals. She had time to take two bites and needed to leave. The staff was reminded several times with no response. It ruined very one's lunch not to mention how distruptive it was to a productive lunch.

Eggs are easy, not here. They can't cook eggs. Server tried to leave burnt toast at the table. He actually asked if it was 'ok' before he turned around to take it back. Next round of 'toast' was really just warm bread. STAY AWAY.

The decor of the restaurant was very appealing and modern. The food was very fresh as we ordered off the brunch menu on New Years day. We both had omelettes made to order with bacon and potatoes. Everything was very fresh. The coffee was delivered warm to our table. My only complaint was about the service. Mind you, we got seated right away as the place was rather empty. However, the waiter was not attentive at all. I ordered coffee right when we sat down, I had to ask him about again 10 minutes later. When our food was delivered, I asked for toast. 15 minutes later, still no toast..I saw another waiter and advised him to tell my waiter that I no longer wanted the toast. Our server did not arrive back to our table again for another 20 minutes when he brought the check. I asked for him to refill our water glasses and explained to him that I thought the service was subpar. He offered no apology and took our payment. Normally, I would ask for a manager but in this case I did not have time and was ready to leave. We paid our tab and we left. Needless to say I will not be back to this location, even though the food was good. I go out to eat not only for the food but also the service.

It was not as originally expected, but was more like a high level hotel coffee shop. However, since we were there for brunch, the atmosphere was fine. We loved the unlimited mimosas and the variety of eggs benedict to choose from was great - a lot of food as well! Perfect for New Year's Day!

My daughter and I ate brunch at IPO on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The food (their version of Eggs Benedict) was fine, the Mimosa rather lame. The place was nearly empty so it was quiet. Nice place but overall it was not worth the $91.00 we spent. For brunch for two?? We have had appetizers, dinner, and desert at many fine places for that price. Won't be returning.

We were three and found it to be very noisy -- had to speak very loudly (like we were across the room from one another) to be heard. Server was asked if the iced tea was sweetened -- yes, he replied. We ordered three. It wasn't. We ordered a burger (good by all accounts) and two quinoa bowls (very little taste), other than grass. Overall wasn't impressed.

Why bother showing me a menu when all I want is that hamburger with poblano peppers and caramelized onions. Can I ask for another one?

I chose IPO for my business/social lunch for 2 reasons - it's proximity to a business meeting at the nearby Monadnock Building, and the good reputation of the W Hotels in Chicago, leading me to trust the on-site restaurant at the City Center location. IPO is a lovely room with plenty of natural light, a "business casual" atmosphere and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. I was surprised to find the room completely empty at 1:30PM. This certainly allowed for privacy and no noise (other than an inexperienced server dropping silverware and breaking glassware while setting up tables for dinner) but it also diminished the satisfaction of seeing other diners enjoying good food and conversation. The menu was ideal for someone who prefers clean, healthy meal preparations. I always appreciate a good selection of salads, with the option to add a side of protein. I chose salmon alongside the kale salad, but found the salmon filet dry, at room temp., not a freshly seared, moist filet. I may give IPO another chance because of it's location, and will simply make a different selection for lunch.

We like IPO, though it can get noisy. We meet there regularly, and find the menu nicely varied.

Even the standards are very solid. Oatmeal with fresh fruit, two eggs, any style, and they are all prepared with quality.

I appreciate the layout of IPO and how they don't jam tables super close together - makes for a comfortable atmosphere and more enjoyable dining experience. Menu is not extensive but always good options to choose from. Food is consistently good and pleasant service. A great 'go to' in the area that is usually pretty easy to get into.
