Iozzo's Garden of Italy Ratings and Reviews
We had not been here before, I didn’t know it was just south of Shapiro’s, been there many times. Well , this place is a must ! We arrived and were greeted with a huge smile, the restaurant has an old library charm. We were seated next to brick wall and I loved the charm of feeling like we were in a old rustic home. Joyce, our server was super sweet and incredibly patient. Joyce offered her favorite items and had helpful hints on ordering dinner. We had the ZoZo shrimp, a Joyce suggestion. It is delicious, about the best shrimp appetizer around. We also had the toasted ravioli, another winner. For dinner I had to try the lasagna, it has lots of flavor and was just perfect. All the items ordered were great. A small thing but important, the water glasses on the table never got less than half full, we had bar drinks also, but you know how the water glass gets sipped from only to run dry ? Well not here ! I loved that simple touch. Thank you ,
Iozzo's is our favorite place to go to for date nights. While we had a reservation for my birthday dinner, we enjoyed our cocktails so much with Phil and Dave at the bar, we decided to eat there. Impeccable service, fantastic food - there are many menu staples, but they also add seasonal items, which are just as amazing.
The good: seated promptly upon arrival with a reservation...ambiance very appealing, although I would add that soft Italian music would be a better choice than what was playing, and very well suited to the ambiance of this place, it would be like a little bit of Rome right here in Indy and make for that perfect date night experience. The food was overall quite good and well presented. This place has a nice menu. The not so appealing, wine in a small water glass just doesn't work for a place that otherwise has such ambiance and curb appeal. A wine goblet would be so much nicer. I had the spaghetti bolognese this time and it was very good as far as flavor, but sadly was a bit tepid rather than served hot. The restaurant didn't seem to be overly crowded to cause the waitress a delay in serving the food once the order was up, perhaps as a party of four the orders were not well-timed and the spaghetti suffered a longer wait while waiting on the meat entrees from other party members to be up?? Overall, a good experience, I would recommend to others and I will return. Hopefully I can give it a 5 star next time.
On NYE, following the Colts victory, this restaurant by reservation was a tasteful delight! The food was exceptionally good. The interior is quite small, so arriving early for a set reserved table was not at all helpful. There was no room to wait for the table without being in the staff's way or appear like I was watching others eat their meal. I would recommend this restaurant and look forward to a warmer day when I can see what the garden area is like.
Wife and I enjoy supporting family or small locally own businesses. We were headed to Indy for New Year’s Eve and decided we wanted to try something new not in downtown Circle. What a great place! Great staff with great personalities. We will definitely be going back when The weather warms up. We are about an hour and 20 minutes drive away.
Everything was wonderful. The restaurant was nice. Our server exceptional. The food was great. I was upset because they sat us in between two large parties. My husband doesn't hear well and I knew it would be hard for him. They also sat by the front door which was freezing. I had just gotten over pneumonia and asked the hostess if we could sit in the corner. She rudely told me no that was for 5 people. I asked if we could sit in the back and was ignored. I am again sick.
One of our favorites, but we hadn't been in ages. Christmas Eve dinner was great! Husband went with lasagna Bolognese which also has Alfredo. I went with the mushroom/seafood soup of the day, then the Diver Scallops with a side of pasta & broccolini. We both also had a side salad, included wuuth bith entrees and took food home.
I have had lunch at Iozzos for lunch a few times but this was my first experince with dinner. We took my in laws for a Christmas present before ISO’s Yuletide Celebration. Dinner was fantastic. Hand rolled pastas, crisp salads, and accommodating service. Perfect.
I would say we are “regulars” dining at least 6 times a year (other than fast/semi-fast food, we don’t eat THAT often as a family at any other nice restaurants with that regularity).
Love the staff! The food is very good!
Problems we’ve recently encountered are most likely due to busy holiday season? Poinsettias centerpieces are tired. Food has not been as good as in the past (not fresh & smaller portions).
Prices have jumped too. $25 for gnocchi black & bleu (steak) entree was definitely not worth it (small, grisly steak piece that was oversalted). Salted carmel brownie looked great but was waaay to salty. (I know my salted carmel products, just sayin. This was too salty.)
Unfortunately, with these prices, we will probably have to visit less often, and not order the way we used to. Hoping quality jumps back up after the holiday season ends.
Oh— Be sure to know...We VERY much love the staff. Have only had EXCELLENT service!
We love Iozzos! The menu is simple but elegant and delicious. The service is great too.
The only thing I could remotely complain about is that the first time we went we got the brownie sundae and it was AMAZING...this last time the brownie was cold and kind of hard instead of soft and gooey like it was the first time. It was still good but kind of disappointing.
It has been a great place to take a special person for a special dining experience. My wife and I were there to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. The service was excellent and the food superb. I have mentioned this restaurant to others to come and enjoy a very fine dining experience for any reason.
I heard about Iozzo’s from a friend. Was going to see Yuletide with a couple of friends, so we decided to give it a try. Our waitress was very friendly and stayed on top of things, I.e., refilling drinks, getting food out quickly, etc. we made reservations, on-line, and was greeeted when entering the restaurant and seated almost immediately. The food was served hot and delicious!
One of the best lunches I have had. Was coming in to Indy for a business meeting and had to meet a colleague for lunch. Picked this place for proximity, but it turned out to be an absolute treat for both of us. Plan to return for dinner with family. Gracious service and lunch was surprisingly inexpensive for the quality of the meal.
