Another great experience. Sad to see them closing, but wishing them the best.
Iorio is (was) our favorite restaurant, my husband and I are so sad to see it go! This is where we spent all of our special occasions. I wish Chris and the rest of the staff the best of luck!
We have been going to Iorio since it opened. Sadly, Iorio is closing on April 15, after 12 years of wonderful food and excellent service.
GREAT FOOD and GREAT RESTAURANT!!! Been going here since shortly after they opened and am going to miss it greatly. Just dined in again for probably the last time this past weekend, as they are closing on Easter weekend (2017). Can't wait to see what the owner/chefs do next!
Iorio is fabulous; unfortunately, it's closing this week. It is the only place I know of in the Portland area where I can go out for an above-average meal that is gluten free, and feel confident there is no cross-contamination (of gluten). I and countless others will sorely miss this wonderful establishment.
We love this place and are sad that they're closing!
Outstanding all around. Sad to note owners are going to take a break. Closing down and moving on to the next thing.
We had a wonderful dinner and we will miss this great restaurant.
This is/was my favorite Italian restaurant in town. It never disappointed. It has been my go to place for special occasions, and just a great meal. I tried everything on the menu over the years I have been going, and never had a bad meal. Sad to see it close.
So sorry to hear this restaurant is closing on the 15th of April. Have always had a wonderful time and a great meal when dining here. It will be sorely missed in the neighborhood.
Good luck to all those who are losing their jobs. Great customer service, hire them!
Sad to see you close but I wish you all the best. Thanks for all the great gluten free pasta.
The food was delicious. Always a treat to eat there.
Best Italian restaurant in Portland..... By far!
We absolutely love Iorio and we are very sad that it is closing. Hurry, Chris is closing the restaurant on April 15th.
One of my favorite restaurants and very sad to see them closing on April 15.
Food was very good - had a pasta dish Casarecci that was a bit spicy, garlicky (just right!) with manila clams and kale - but must confess I'm not sure where the clams were hiding. Still a very good meal and a great velvety red wine from Veneto that I had never heard of before but will be looking to find it somewhere!! Have eaten here before and had their special calamari which was very good.
Third time here and very consistent food and service. Always some very interesting dishes and locally sourced items. I will be back again.
Excellent dinner at Ioria last Friday evening. Great service and great meal! Our favorite by far is the gnocchi although we are never disappointed in any of the selections. Kudos to Chef Chris and his team!!
Loved our dining experience at Iorio. Our dinner turned out to be an anniversary gift from friends, which made it even more enjoyable. We got exactly what we wanted. And loved our waiter
We really enjoyed the many vegetarian options they provide. The food was delicious and service was superb!!
Delicious food, top-notch service. Three bites in and I became a regular. Wonderful!
The tables for two are tiny and round and super uncomfortable. The bread was good and so was the beet salad, but the eggplant parm and vegetarian lasagna were drowning in fatty ricotta and very bland tasting. Service was a bit slow on a Saturday night at only 6:30 and this place is pretty cold inside. It was really loud, too. Not our kind of place.
I enjoyed my experience for the most part, except when our server didn't let us know that she's going to autograt us. I emailed and didn't get an email back. I would really appreciate my tip back. Experience was good but definitely not good enough to "give" nearly a 50% tip. I would really appreciate getting my gratuity back at least, then things would be straight and I would then love to recommend Iorio. But until that point I won't be recommending this place to anyone.
Dining with a lactose intolerant person can be trying. The staff at Iorio were very knowledgeable about every ingredient on the menu and made terrific recommendations. It was a lovely evening.
The food is fresh, you can tell they use fresh good quality ingredients
The service is exceptional
Feels like home
Relaxing
We love it
Iorio is a great place for a casual dinner for two or for celebrating a special event with a group. We love the intimate size and ambiance. Most Sunday evenings Jason provides solo acoustic guitar music. We appreciate the gluten free options on most all menu items and they are always delicious. The calamari is a favorite. The beet salad and butter lettuce salad are repeats. One of us always has "catch of the day" and the portions are generous. Save room for dessert!! For four, we recommend the family dessert platter.
This was the perfect place for dinner for three friends visiting Portland. One of us is gluten free and she was able to chose from a large selection of options. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We got the gluten free gnocchi, lamb Ragu, the stuffed sole and a creamy pasta dish.
Food was good, but uninspiring. Chicken parmesan for me, ravioli for my wife.. It was . . . Fine.
always delivers very good Italian at a great price value, and very good with children without being bad for tables without kids. and the gluten free options are super nice too
Consistently excellent food and service. The ambiance is cozy and romantic.
Enjoy the many GF options.
Sweet find. I honestly did not know you existed before last week. However, I have already recommended you to a co-worker. I'm sure i'll be back. Thank you.
One of my favorite cozy spots!
it had been awhile since we were there and enjoyed our visit very much. Good service and great food.
Great server and live guitar music but the food was bland. Everything needed salt and I don't even keep salt on the table at home so you know it needed seasoning when I have to add it at a restaurant! I'm hoping it was an off night but just wasn't impressed with the food. Too many great Italian places in pdx to settle for mediocre.
We had a great experience! The food is phenomenal and very, very consistent. We started with calamari, which has a very light batter. We had eggplant parmesan and chicken parmesan, plus the pulled pork. Each dish was excellent, and the portions are very large. The value here is phenomenal. The service was attentive, descriptive and timely.
Wonderful gluten-free food! Enormous portions, too! Wish the place was a bit nicer, as it looks dated and isn't very comfortable.
Went for Valentine's Dinner. Hadn't been to Iorio in a decade and had remembered some wonderful dishes. Food was a huge disappointment. Some of the worst that I have ever been served.
Our waiter did an excellent job serving, offering menu suggestions, and responding to our needs to make our experience wonderful. Especially our dessert problem. We will definitely come back.
The food was way too salty. I don't see how anyone could enjoy it for that reason.
We liked the service and the decor. The butternut spread that sounded very intriguing was bland. The Eggplant Parmigiana was undercooked in some parts and over cooked in others. Not the best that we have eaten. Wines were so-so.
Have been here on many occasions and was quite surprised at poor food quality. My husband actually had some bad clams in his dish, the gluten free pasta was like mushy cardboard, chicken in the chicken parmesean dish was so tough and overcooked I couldn't cut it with a knife. Really disappointed given this was a special birthday dinner for a few of us.
