Intertwined Bistro & Wine Bar - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Love this place. Great wine and great food. The place is small and cozy with a nice ambiance. They have very reasonable prices and a nice list of appetizers. The service and staff were impeccable. The duck confit was absolutely wonderful as well as the foie gras. If you pair that with a a bottle of Justine it doesn't get any better. I would come back again and again just for those two dishes. I highly recommend paying them a visit.
The food and service were great! Plan to spend about $30/ plate. We got a gift card and were celebrating our anniversary. Otherwise it would be a bit pricey for my liking especially given the ambiance. It's pretty loud and crammed. Great place just expect noise and moderate priced entrees.
The food was good, but not great. However, the service was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgable about the different wines and brought out samples of several different wines to help us decide on a bottle. Thursday night is 1/2 off wine bottles ($40 and less), and they'll cork the bottle and give you a bag to take any leftover wine home.
I have been to Intertwined on 3 occasions. The food has always been wonderful. I find the service to be lacking though. The servers are very friendly, but on two of our visits we were always thirsty and looking for someone to refill our water glasses. We also brought our own wine and paid the corkage fee, no problem, but then we had to pour our own wine all evening. I thought that was a little odd and have never experienced that at other restaurants. Other than that, we really enjoy our visits to Intertwined and will return.
Love this restaurant, the food. and especially the food. they know how to grill fish and steak dishes spot on. If there is an issue of any kind (very very rare event) they immediately address the issue and insure you are pleased with the result and your dining experience ... they really want to know if everything is OK. Highly recommended.
We took some friends there last Fri. evening and they enjoyed their salads and the ravioli
that was stuffed with spinach and cheese - they loved the latter.
My husband ordered crab cakes that were good - we also ordered stuffed dates wrapped
in bacon - delicious!
My chicken with goat cheese wasn't as good as on previous visits.
The brussel sprouts needed more cooking - they were tough -
Place was super-crowded and super loud! We had a reservation so were seated immediately, but apparently staff was short-handed (or there was a new busboy) and we weren't attended to, not even for a glass of water, for over 10 minutes. After our server arrived, all was well. Apparently it was also half-price bottle of wine night (for bottles $40 and under), which explains why it was so crowded. That's a good thing, of course (always glad to see local restaurants getting business). However, the tables are so closely situated, you're basically dining with strangers, particularly in the main dining room. Other than that, food was excellent, lots of small plates that are definitely suitable for sharing. If you want peace and quiet, ask for a table in the back of the restaurant (perhaps), or arrive before 6 or after 8, perhaps?
Our friends recommended Intertwined, and we owe them one for sending us here! The room's deep tones and balanced lighting brings your focus to your dining partner and your food. Some tables-for-two are set too close together, crowding the intimacy a couple might want; we asked for a table more set apart and the server kindly obliged. Over two visits, we have sampled several menu items and we've been very pleased with each one: unusual recipes cooked well and artfully plated. Behind your dinner you get the sound of people having a good time -- all the talk and laughter and clatter becomes a background buzz that excites and also brings you closer to life, a state of dining mindfulness, let's say, which is a feature of many great places.
The food was excellent. Service was very attentive. We sat outside since the inside was blaring with noise. Mind you it was happy noise, but I dont want to shout at dinner. We sat outside in the cool evening. Mondays in the summer are zoo-like due to cruzin Grand. The rest of the week The place is a total find. We will be back more frequently.
Food and service were first rate! Servers were attentive but not intrusive. The meal from the salad through dessert was truly enjoyable. Flat iron steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pasta dish was excellent as well. Best cup of decaf coffee we've had in ages.
Very good service and we had an early dinner, with mostly small plates. The waitress we had was lovely and had been there about 2 years. Claims were awesome, and would be great even without the sausage and instead smaller dices like chirizo, but is home made. Dips for Calamari were great. Wine selection is good. Nice special on Wed's.
Food was excellent, as usual. But there were some large parties there and it was very noisy and service was pretty sad. Waited 45 minutes for appetizer, altho when I complained I was told electricity was out in back and appetizers and dessert orders weren't coming through? If that was true, ok, but at least come and tell us about it. We finally got the appetiser, and the restaurant comped it, which was really nice.
I have frequented this restaurant before and never had this bad of service, so I will definitely come back. It was just apparently a bad night!
Great atmosphere, excellent service and best of all ... great food that is prepared to perfection consistently. great specials that are well worth trying. Love this restaurant for the quality of the staff, location Grand Ave. ... a great place for a great meal that is a great value!
