Excellent food, great location. Easy parking access/available. To bit loud, but if want to avoid the loud area ask for the tables closer to the kitchen
Love this place. Great wine and great food. The place is small and cozy with a nice ambiance. They have very reasonable prices and a nice list of appetizers. The service and staff were impeccable. The duck confit was absolutely wonderful as well as the foie gras. If you pair that with a a bottle of Justine it doesn't get any better. I would come back again and again just for those two dishes. I highly recommend paying them a visit.
We loved the ambiance and the food was fantastic! We loved that we could have our dog with us on the patio.
So sad that this restaurant is closing. We didn't know it was their last night. We will miss it!
A delicious dinner, the best bowtie pasta dish ever! Friendly service, great wine, cute setting. Loved this place!
The food and service were great! Plan to spend about $30/ plate. We got a gift card and were celebrating our anniversary. Otherwise it would be a bit pricey for my liking especially given the ambiance. It's pretty loud and crammed. Great place just expect noise and moderate priced entrees.
Great food and great service. Ordered plates to be shared and main courses and it was a lot of food! For two, a couple of plates to be shared would have been enough if you eat to be satisfied. Overall, a very enjoyable experience! We will be back.
Great ambiance, good food...had a lovely evening with friends.
Very romantic and mellow great place wine down
Crab cakes were amazing! Papperdelle with braised pork and ricotta was also excellent!
The food here is always amazing. I've tried most of the sharable items and they are the perfect size. The entrees are well thought out and have been perfectly cooked.
The food was good, but not great. However, the service was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgable about the different wines and brought out samples of several different wines to help us decide on a bottle. Thursday night is 1/2 off wine bottles ($40 and less), and they'll cork the bottle and give you a bag to take any leftover wine home.
We do not live in Escondido, but we come here a couple times a year when in town. This is just a nice cozy wine bar type restaurant. The food and service are always good and the menu is interesting, but not lengthy.
Every time I go I order something different and it's always incredible!
I have been to Intertwined on 3 occasions. The food has always been wonderful. I find the service to be lacking though. The servers are very friendly, but on two of our visits we were always thirsty and looking for someone to refill our water glasses. We also brought our own wine and paid the corkage fee, no problem, but then we had to pour our own wine all evening. I thought that was a little odd and have never experienced that at other restaurants. Other than that, we really enjoy our visits to Intertwined and will return.
The food was so delicious and the service was excellent. I am already looking forward to my next visit here!
Love this restaurant, the food. and especially the food. they know how to grill fish and steak dishes spot on. If there is an issue of any kind (very very rare event) they immediately address the issue and insure you are pleased with the result and your dining experience ... they really want to know if everything is OK. Highly recommended.
We took some friends there last Fri. evening and they enjoyed their salads and the ravioli
that was stuffed with spinach and cheese - they loved the latter.
My husband ordered crab cakes that were good - we also ordered stuffed dates wrapped
in bacon - delicious!
My chicken with goat cheese wasn't as good as on previous visits.
The brussel sprouts needed more cooking - they were tough -
Love Intertwined! It is very quaint and has some unique food selections. It is in a nice location in the center of town. I always enjoy my meals at Intertwined!
Place was super-crowded and super loud! We had a reservation so were seated immediately, but apparently staff was short-handed (or there was a new busboy) and we weren't attended to, not even for a glass of water, for over 10 minutes. After our server arrived, all was well. Apparently it was also half-price bottle of wine night (for bottles $40 and under), which explains why it was so crowded. That's a good thing, of course (always glad to see local restaurants getting business). However, the tables are so closely situated, you're basically dining with strangers, particularly in the main dining room. Other than that, food was excellent, lots of small plates that are definitely suitable for sharing. If you want peace and quiet, ask for a table in the back of the restaurant (perhaps), or arrive before 6 or after 8, perhaps?
One person serving an entire restaurant, no one greeted us, good food. Terrible odor and food took 30 mins when empty
I did not care for the artichoke appetizer so I ordered the polenta and liked it very much. I always enjoy eating at Intertwined.
Our friends recommended Intertwined, and we owe them one for sending us here! The room's deep tones and balanced lighting brings your focus to your dining partner and your food. Some tables-for-two are set too close together, crowding the intimacy a couple might want; we asked for a table more set apart and the server kindly obliged. Over two visits, we have sampled several menu items and we've been very pleased with each one: unusual recipes cooked well and artfully plated. Behind your dinner you get the sound of people having a good time -- all the talk and laughter and clatter becomes a background buzz that excites and also brings you closer to life, a state of dining mindfulness, let's say, which is a feature of many great places.
This is a nice downtown restaurant with both inside and outside seating. They have wine flights at a reasonable cost. The "light faire" menu is quite nice with very good size portions. Wine list is basic but enjoyable. The service has always been good
The food was excellent. Service was very attentive. We sat outside since the inside was blaring with noise. Mind you it was happy noise, but I dont want to shout at dinner. We sat outside in the cool evening. Mondays in the summer are zoo-like due to cruzin Grand. The rest of the week The place is a total find. We will be back more frequently.
Food and service were first rate! Servers were attentive but not intrusive. The meal from the salad through dessert was truly enjoyable. Flat iron steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pasta dish was excellent as well. Best cup of decaf coffee we've had in ages.
Very good service and we had an early dinner, with mostly small plates. The waitress we had was lovely and had been there about 2 years. Claims were awesome, and would be great even without the sausage and instead smaller dices like chirizo, but is home made. Dips for Calamari were great. Wine selection is good. Nice special on Wed's.
Our server was fabulous...lost the slip with her name...the food was superb and the wines very interesting...a perfect date night
Our server was Brittney, she's the best (right upt there withTory). Mealwasterrific, service the best in town. Good food, nice surroundings, perfect service. Who needs more?
As usual, the food menu and preparation for the entrees was excellent...very consistent! The weekly specials make for an interesting dining experience each week with the selections and preparation spot on. Great and friendly customer service!
Food was excellent, as usual. But there were some large parties there and it was very noisy and service was pretty sad. Waited 45 minutes for appetizer, altho when I complained I was told electricity was out in back and appetizers and dessert orders weren't coming through? If that was true, ok, but at least come and tell us about it. We finally got the appetiser, and the restaurant comped it, which was really nice.
I have frequented this restaurant before and never had this bad of service, so I will definitely come back. It was just apparently a bad night!
Great food as always
This is a gem in Escondido. It was recommended by a friend since we needed an "healthy" place to celebrate two birthdays. Food was great; service was even better. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back again and again.
A very pleasant surprise! Our lunch was outstanding and we enjoyed eating outside. Intertwined is a real gem and I will definitely return here.
The clam and sausage appetizer was other worldly. Service was first rate. Great value, highly recommended.
As always the service and food were great! I like the new menu- small but has variety to please everyone.
Interesting and delicious appetizers. Entrées were beautifully presented and tasty.
Sloooow service! Yikes. And they weren't that busy either on a Wednesday evening. We had to ask twice for our missing server. Also they charge for bread which we found surprising.
We always have a great time at Intertwined. We never seem to have any leftovers to take home.
The avocado tower, Tomato soup, flat bread and the asparagus was delicious. Its probably the best spot in Escondido. Looking forward to coming back!!
Great atmosphere, excellent service and best of all ... great food that is prepared to perfection consistently. great specials that are well worth trying. Love this restaurant for the quality of the staff, location Grand Ave. ... a great place for a great meal that is a great value!
