Consistently great for brunch.
I had the hunters stew and it was absolutely amazing, from the tender meat, to the fresh vegetables, to the savory broth. My friend and I shared the calamari, which was also very good. She had the philly cheese steak; unfortunately, there was more gristle than meat. It was inedible. When we mentioned this to the waiter he just nervously laughed it off. We have always had nothing but good experiences here in the past.
We have eaten at Interstate numerous times before going to the Buntport Theatre a few blocks away. Food is always delicious. Saturday 5 of us went for dinner and all 5 had something different--all raved about the quality, quantity of the food and the taste. I had the clam chowder with a salad and it was wonderful! Others had the tacos, cheese steak, burger and roast beef sandwichs.
Our only complaint is that the place is too dark! Atmosphere in a high end restaurant usually means darkened atmosphere, but not at a bar/restaurant like Interstate. We could hardly read the menu and joked that we almost had to turn on our cell phones to see the print.
We love the convenience to the theater and the food and will definitely return and would recommend!
Sad to say but we’re DONE with Interstate. Someone needs to take the salt shaker away from kitchen. Our deviled eggs were inedible and no one seems to care. Second time we couldn’t eat our entrees. Need new kitchen or new owner.
My cousin and I met at Interstate for a dinner to catch up. We sat at the bar and had a cocktail while we waited for our reservation (because we were early). The bartender was very nice. I had the Giggle Juice, it was just ok... lukewarm and the champagne was flat. We then moved to our table in the cool ambiance of the dining room. It was not super busy as we came early, I could see it getting a bit noisy and tight when full. Our server and everyone who kept our waters full and table clear were great. We asked for our server to give us some recommendations, and she gladly gave us some great options. We had the pork belly app, beet salad, and hanger steak and frites... all delish. We were able to enjoy our dinner and catch up with out feeling rushed. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Great down home American food served with a smile!
We had not yet tried this place, and were shocked to find it had been in business for 9 years. We were amazed and beyond pleased with our brunch, and the excellent service we received. Rest assured we will be frequent dining customers at this place. Great food, reasonable price, and super friendly employees. A ++
Third visit to Interstate Kitchen, and they've proven that they can provide consistently cooked, delicious foods at good pricing.
Their portions are large, and sharing is totally a thing!
Their service is typically good, but could be slightly faster.
Overall, they're consistent, and that's why we return.
I always like coming here. The staff are so friendly and the food is always delicious and very healthy.
Great service, delicious food, wonderful ambience!
Food was wonderful but service was terrible. Server was surly and rude- kind of put a damper on a fun evening with friends.
Have eaten at Interstate dozens of times and I must say that I may take a break for a few months. The food quality is not what it used to be and that is a big disappointment as I am truly an Interstate fan! Our last visit I ate one bite of my entrée and was done and when asked if I wanted a box I said no thanks ... interesting that no one asked if anything was wrong, but it was a busy night.
Great neighborhood restaurant with a laid-back feeling and delicious food. Definitely want to go again!
Generally a good experience but the house favorite, ordered by two at our table, was dry and lacked flavor.
This was my second visit to Interstate. I was very impressed with the service, price, ambience and the food the first time, I thought it would be a good location for another get together. I was not disappointed. Everything was terrific and my companions, who are not from this part of town, enjoyed the entire atmosphere, especially the beer. Interstate is a great place for any occasion. I will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to or in the area.
I loved the music.
Sunday brunch was great - Kir Royale
Thoroughly enjoyed the duck confit pot pie, deviled eggs, and celery root mash that came with the Pork Chop. Pork chop was slightly overcooked, but when you haven't eaten all day, who cares?
a nice neighborhood restaurant/bar with tasty food. will definitely be back.
Food is always exceptional and service friendly. A neighborhood gem that's rarely too crowded.
Husband and I were just passing thru the area and starving so we popped into our phones, the best place for a late lunch. So glad we were in the right place as Interstate was a definite gem. Taylor recommended the chicken salad and burger, was so spot on. Great food, wonderful service and price is right. We will definitely be back. Oh, and the fries were great too; crispy crunchy. And I believe those weren't even the shoe string fries. So the shoe string fries must be out of this world. THat's on our list for our next visit!
We love Interstate! Such a funky place and wonderful service. The food is fabulous and plentiful. The French Toast with banana creme brulee is my favorite. My adult son polished off the Sportsman with 3 different breakfast meats. The cinnamon crumb coffee cake appetizer comes warm and sweet.
We have eaten here before and thought the food was good. This time around was not as good. First off, I made reservations on their website (supported by OpenTable) and they never credited us with our points. Thankfully OpenTable helped us out. Second, it was not busy at all but they gave us (two women) a small table next to lots of traffic when there was plenty of other nicer tables available. The service was good and quick. I had the roast beef sandwich which was pretty bland and the roast beef was very fatty. My partner had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and both were very bland.
This is my third and last visit. My ribeye steak ordered medium rare was well done, 1/4" thick and tasted like and was tough as shoe leather. Very poor selection of wines. I've yet to have a decent meal there and will stopping wasting my time and money.
Breakfast of Champions! What a grand brunch. Eggs with 3 meats. French toast with bruleed bananas. Enough to satisfy the hungriest patron. And everything is seasoned so well. The homemade sausage is the best ever. Nice folks. Funky spot. Can't wait to go back!
Had two frites - ribeye and pork- a burger and a blt sandwich. Two apps- spinach/artichoke dip and popcorn. The food was excellent. Perfectly cooked. Teens thought it was a cool place. Great upscale diner experience, and great value! Only negative was no GF bread options.
The food is consistently good, though it came out a little cold this time.....cold eggs aren't my favorite - but I was with two kids so it was necessary to just eat and not complain. Flavor was terrific.
Interesting flavor combinations, delicious, affordable
Great bar with diverse menu and amazing list of bourbons and other small-batch whisky
What a wonderful gem. The vibe is cool and the food is innovative and interesting. The drink options are fabulous. Give it a try for a new and fun experience.
Had the ribeye and monkfish, spoonbread and the leek soup. Soup was a very ugly brownish color and was not very tasty. Ribeye was big with potatoes, arugula and blue cheese. Fish on greens was enjoyed. We were interested in a couple of desserts but decided to skip it. Slow to bus tables when some folks were not busy, standing around.
Four of us drove from Colorado Springs to Denver to attend a theater performance at Buntport and Interstate Kitchen is just around the corner! All four of us had different entrees and we enjoyed them all! I especially liked the Clam Chowder--full of clams and very thick and tasty! Sandwiches are huge and fries are plentiful. The two gals with sandwiches, took "to go boxes". Very casual atmosphere and easy to talk at the table.
Great vibe and diverse menu. Meal was great and desserts were awesome.
This was my 5th or 6th time dining at this restaurant. I have only been for brunch. The food is very good - and consistent. The menu hasn't changed in over a year - it would be nice to see a few different offerings - or maybe a special on Sundays. The Bloody Mary selection is great - and a good value. I will be back, just hoping for a few more menu options next time.
We enjoyed ourselves so much! the biscuits and gravy and the other breakfasts were fabulous. Everything tasted great. Yummy eggs. Yummy bloody marys. Our server, Jason, was super efficient and kind. He took great care of us. I loved the décor. The bathrooms were clean and modern, roomy and .... best bathrooms!
The deviled eggs are always delicious to start off the meal. Tried the chicken fried chicken entree tonight. It was piping hot and flavorful. They should bottle and sell the gravy - it was so amazing!!
Interstate has an imaginative menu of comfort foods that are reasonably priced. How many places have $17 sea bass dinners with succotash and butter beans? How many have Genesee Cream Ale on tap for $3?
It's a place that's at once buzzy and relaxing. Enjoy some deviled eggs while you watch the passing parade of Santa Fe drive denizens.
We were going to First Friday on Santa Fe and wanted to go early to find parking and get something to eat. Interstate Kitchen was the perfect place to start. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The restaurant was full with a lively crowd around the bar. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Great value! Loved the deviled eggs and spoon bread for appetizer. Great salmon salad. But my favorite part was the Orange Zuccini Cake. OMG... so delicious! I have a serious sweet tooth and this cake hit the mark. Finally, our waitress Amber was great. She knew everything about the menu and all of her recommendations were spot on. Already made a reservation for another night.
Unfortunately the server was having a difficult night so when we came in, the bar tender tried to move us to the bar. We needed seats with backs due to a physical injury (though we didn't share this with the bartender) and so we requested the table that we reserved through Open Table. The bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed also and so didn't have the great customer service and came off as pretty rude.
The server was much nicer and though there were only two other tables - she was overwhelmed and it took forever to be served or checked up on and the server repeatedly forgot drink orders etc.
The food was great. And I liked the vibe. But would not recommend.
Great coffee cake, coffee and breakfast. Very reasonable prices.
