Insignia Prime Steak & Sushi Ratings and Reviews
I generally don't go to steak restaurants as I don't like paying for everything separately, but I got a gift card for this place. I order the lobster tail for $54 ,it was good and not over cooked but a salad along with it for the price would have been nice. The petite steak my husband ordered was a nice size and cooked to his order. The insignia salad was large enough to share and was very tasty The french fries were great and a lot of them so we took them home For the price I was not leaving them . The desert menu needs some help, the waiter did tell us about desert specials but was not impressed. The prices for wine by the glass were what one who expect in a steak house. My husband and I go out to eat a lot during the month and have occasionally found other steak restaurants just as good and maybe even better for a much lower price. If I had to choose a steak place that I would recommend it would be Rothamans in East Norwich.
The one thing that really needs to be looked at is the ladies bathroom. The wood there is black and the amount of dust was incredible. Poor cleaning service and management over look
If this room is not being maintained what about the rest of the place??
This is by far one of our favorite restaurants. The food itself is exceptional and never disappoints, but is only part of the experience. Add the outstandingly exceptional attention always given by the waitstaff, the 5 star atmosphere and you are in for a special evening!
Came Saturday night to enjoy our New Years celebration, had a reservation for 7.30pm and was only seated at 845pm, each time I asked the front desk I was told you are next.
Dinner took another hour and a half before the main course arrived, I asked the waiter who right away said it’s not my fault and if you want to I’ll call a manager.
Ended up just taking most of it home.
I spent $450 and left frustrated and not a good way to depend my New Year’s Eve
Went there for New Years eve with 7pm reservation. Was seated at 7:30pm. The place was packed, as was the bar. Food was excellent but overpriced. Food was very slow coming to table, but understandable under the date. We had a great time as did many other groups eating there.
Great food service was OK. Seems as if they might be under staffed (typical of the scotto brother name) or maybe they thought we where young and weren't going to tip well. But once we got our dinner the service plummeted. We were sitting there for awhile trying to get the dessert menu and our plates cleared. The waiters where very friendly and helpful once we got there attention. Prices where high but the food was worth it.
Been here many times. The food is great but this last time the sides were all cold which happens. I feel the last few times the place has lost something on the service end. The three female bartenders this past visit were not at all friendly plus it took 15 minutes to get acknowledged. The service at the table I also felt took a step back. The server was forgetting items and was not giving the top notch service I was accustomed to here. I am not sure if I will be back anytime soon. I don’t ask for much and I have no problem paying for great food but I do expect just a little bit of service. I could have got better service at Friday’s or any chain restaurant that instills hospitality in their employees.
The bathrooms were also a mess!!
I have been to Insignia more than half dozen times. Normally on any of the other times I would have given a better review. However, The steak which is usually wonderful was not this time. At best the filet was average. In the past it was always excellent.
In addition, although a minor point, when the reservation was made, I indicated it was for a
birthday. The waiter asked if it was a celebration and was told that it was my Birthday. Yet the usual did not happen.
We were there to celebrate 4 birthdays. We picked Insignia because we thought it would be special. Our table was near a room where they kept opening the door to get extra chairs. It was disruptive, drafty & annoying. The busboy forgot to bring steak sauce we had asked for. The food was lukewarm. I was disappointed.
