Lobster was cold and steak was over cooked. One waiter even said “I’m not going to argue with you”... are you serious?
We went there for special birthday dinner. The service was outstanding and the food is always cooked to perfection.
Overall excellent experience service and presentation were top notch. $60 for the lowest price steak that was just average tasting was a little pricey. I would avoid the steak in the future not worth the money.
Solid steakhouse, a little pricey compared to other steakhouses
Excellence Service. And awesome food. Will be coming back again.
Had a good time with excellent service
Comfortable setting, great service and good food
Ate at the bar in the end.Michael the bartender was brilliant - great banter and service. We had a visitor from the UK so it was nice for her to experience long island hospitality 😊
This was our 3rd time dining at Insignia restaurant. Our wait time wasn't long with reservation. Seating was good with plenty of room for our party of 5. Our wait staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Ambiance was nice. Although, the music was a bit too lively for the dining area. The wine that our waiter selected was outstanding! The sushi rolls he suggested were absolutely delicious! Our porter house steaks for two were excellent! Ours was cooked correctly at medium rare. Only negatives were the other porter house steak for 2 we ordered at medium came out medium rare. We still ate it. The sides were delicious. However, portions were a bit small for the price on some of them. Overall, Insignia continues to please our dining experience thus far.
Good food, ok service, food took longer than usual to come out! Still one of my favorite places to dine
Excellent sirloin steak and sushi, special venison chop app was perfectly prepared. Too loud and no ambiance but I guess that’s a problem when you go at prime time on a Saturday night.
Excellent food even better service!
We ordered the two bone steak for two and was very dissapointed with it , it was chewy and fatty , not at all what we expected and the french fries were good when they came out of the kitchen hot , but once they started to cool down they were very hard couldn't chew them. Very dissappointing for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner !
Classic steak house, unbelievable wine cellar (that is actually up in the air), a bit noisy where we were next to the party room where there was a pharma event, but otherwise a great experience.
The quality of the food for the cost did not match up at all. Was expecting a lot more I guess from the presentation to the quality of the food. I have gone to restaurants that were far superior for half the cost.
We’ve been here numerous times as we live close to this restaurant and we’re always happy with our meals. Food is consistently good and the service is great. Love the atmosphere of this restaurant.
The food is typically top notch. Both steaks were over cooked and nothing to brag about. It could of been just a bad night in the kitchen. But at $400 for 2 that should not be the case.
I have been to Insignia many times, and this I must say was the worst by far. Our reservation was for 8:00pm, we were seated at 9:00pm, which was a long time to wait, but the positive side was that we had some really amazing drinks at the bar that were made by Michael, who is very nice and the time go by quickly. Our waiter on the other hand was terrible. We had a booth located next to the bar, and we sat with menu's in hand waiting for him to address our table. We finally had to ask someone else who was passing by (who worked at the restaurant) to please have our waiter come over. He finally came over, brought us water and bread, and took our appetizer order. Once the appetizers were served, he never came back to take our food order for over at least a good 1/2 hour. He also never refreshed our cocktails, and was just all around he was very slow and seemed either overwhelmed or unhappy to be there. Needless to stay our bill was over $400.00 plus and for three people the YES prices are high, but the food is good and since I have been there before I know it is not an inexpensive dining experience. But with that in mind, as a customer and the person who suggested the restaurant for my two friends, we should get the level of service we are paying for and nothing short of a wonderful dining experience. It truly was a disappointment and i was embarrassed i had suggested it for my friends birthday.
Outstanding ! Food & Service . Waiters are very knowledgeable of menu, very helpful in helping with selecting meal, A bit expensive
Place is beautiful and high-end, service impeccable as well... music way too loud and not dinner music, more club like... It was a Saturday night and they had two private parties going on right next to the dining room, so not sure if it was a mix of music from either party, but was difficult to carry on conversations over dinner. Food was perfectly prepared, but prices are out of control and portion sizes for sides very small for the price
This place was AMAZING wonderful for a night out with your significant other
Had a great dinner with my family at Insignia. Service was outstanding tonight from Nick and Jennifer. I almost feel guilty being pampered so much but my family deserves it! Food was outstanding, the freshest oysters, an awesome Sushi special, Australian Wagyu steaks and of course the finest aged beef on Long Island. We would also highly recommend the donuts for desert. They are amazing. Thanks for helping to make our special night that much better Nick and Jennifer!
Overpriced but good for special occasions
Food was excellent.
Everything tasted great .... just our sushi wrap which was a special with crab and shells in it. The waiter was slightly less attentive than we would’ve liked, steaks were cooked perfectly. There was noise but were able to converse perfectly fine .
A pleasant high-end restaurant. The experience was exceptional, which is what I would expect for the price.
People love this place, but I wasn’t that impressed with the food. The place is beautiful though.
Received a $40 gift card from the restaurant in the mail, not to be combined with any other offer. Went to dine last Sunday evening. We were given menus and an additional Sunday menu for a Surf and Turf. No one mentioned that that was considered a special offer. We ordered the Lobster and Filet Mignon Rare for 2. Filet had to be sent back as it was overdone. The second time out the center was rare but the edges were well done and inedible. Not what I would expect for $59 per person. When the check arrived, we were told we couldn't use the gift card. When questioned, the manager was downright rude. He suggested I keep it and come back another time and use it, turned on his heel and walked away. That will never happen. Additionally we had an American Express Gift card for $100. The check with tip came to over $200. Imagine our surprise when we were told that they were only allowed to ring $80 on the Amex. Never had that happened in any establishment before.
Upon leaving, the valet was nowhere to be found. Went back in to ask where they were and was told by a hostess (who was also rude) that we had to walk to the left to get them!!! Really? They were sitting behind the wall talking to each other. We were not the only people waiting for cars. Needless to say, will not be returning here nor to their other 2 restaurants Blackstone's and Rare
Everyone who worked there was so friendly, caring and courteous.
Service was adequate ...my husband ordered the porthouse veal chop and I ordered the brandino. He was served the chop and eight (8) minutes later I was served the fish. Totally unacceptable! We do not plan to visit in the near future.
Place is overrated. Steak special was very bland and not worth the premium.
Great food..service and value...we came at 4 and enjoyed the quiet and service ..
Wiil be going again. ..
Excellent meal and wonderful service! Always a fantastic menu!
Absolutely the best steak I have ever had!! I knew it was going to be pricey going into it ($225.00 + tip for 2 with 4 glasses of wine) but the food was nothing short of amazing. Started with wagyu slider flight and grilled octopus. The flavor of the slider was indescribable. It tasted that amazing. Octopus was good but I've had better. Iceberg wedge salad was excellent. Crisp and delicious with the right amount of dressing and bacon. The 22oz rib eye was the star of the show. Like I said, best steak ever, and I've had a lot. Spinach sauted to perfection. Backed potato was the size of a small football and also cooked perfectly. My lady friend had the 10oz filet which was also perfect. Absolute,y no complaints and the service, probably in the top 2 in my dining experience. Travis was exceptionally attentive to our needs.
Always wanted to try this restaurant. Was disappointed with the wait, had reservation, and the seating. A windowless room that had more in common with a converted storage room. A sharp contrast to the exterior. Service was ok, food, the same.
Great food and service.
Everything is amazing just keep in mind it will be an expensive experience.
You get two really good, friendly waiters! Service is top notch!!
We had fantastic meal with the family. For appetizers were had the bacon slab and calamari salad which were excellent. Also had a delicious fresh pasta with burrata cheese and white truffles that was a special app that night. For entrees, my wife and I split the Australian Waygu 16 oz rib eye and my two sons did the same. Our server, Glen, really sold us on it. And he was spot on. It was without a doubt one of the best steaks any of us we've ever had. This was melt in your mouth tender, and just a ridiculous amount of flavor. I would recommend this over a filet every time. A pricy cut for sure, but with appetizers and sides, two people can split it and be completely satisfied as all of us were. And my 17 and 14 year old sons can eat. Speaking of which, we had truffle mac and cheese and homemade fries on the side. Great choices. The fries were an odd texture, almost chewy, though completely addictive where you just kept going back for more. Dessert finished things off with a couple of praline stuffed warm chocolate chip cookies wit vanilla ice cream. Very good. Also had some coffee which was top notch. Also, kudos to the wine by the glass list. While many on the list were restaurant grade ones that you've never heard of, they had a "select" list which included easily recognized names including Jordan, Justin and Opus One. Plus a choice of 3 oz or 6 oz pours. Well done!
