Inside Park at St. Bart's Ratings and Reviews
Good quality was great, prices are moderate, service was substantial. There needs to be an improvement on the bug control. We were sat by a fairly large plant which had to very visible plastic containers of a clear yellow liquid that I can only assume was citronella, which did not stop flies, a very pesky bee, and finally some sort of small fly like creature that decided to finish my wife's dinner for her.
This has always been a favorite--with great seating indoors and out, easy location, nice outdoor bar, and good food.
However...something's caused it to go downhill. Dined here with an out of town friend and I was embarrassed by the service and the food quality was uninspiring. I will probably give it a break before returning to see if things improve.
We were quickly and warmly greeted by the Hostess. At this time Nicole, apparently a seasoned team member, swooped in to enhance the experience and took us swiftly to our table. Warm reception, great food and drinks and a unique view of the cathedral and Madison avenue. Half way through the meal Paul (assuming the manager or owner) came by to introduce himself and greet some of my party who were regulars there. It felt very friendly and we will return many times over!
One of my FAVORITE restaurants in NYC for both food and atmosphere, but the music noise level was a bit too loud at my last visit. However it remains an absolute GEM in the NYC dining scene and I can't wait to go back. Have recommended it tons of times and will continue to.
Its a great location and the view is fun. However, the Angry Calamari salad was either over cooked of not fresh. It needed more salad and less Calamari.
The water glasses are all relly cratched and foggy. They need to invest in replacements.
Otherwise a pleseant business lunch
Gorgeous day, so the restaurant was very busy for lunch. We waited quite a while for our food, but the hostess approached us with an acknowledgement and apology that we had been waiting for a while. If only other restaurants would do the same...... The food was good, though a bit pricey. All in all, a nice spot for lunch.
Have had many good meals here - this time, the gazpacho that I ordered had turned sour / bad. When we asked the waiter to take it back, he said we were the second customer to say that. Should have been handled as soon as the first customer said the foiled had spoiled.
They did bring an alternate appetizer no charge.
Amongst the New York skyscrapers this terrace attached to St Barts is a gem. Good wine list and traditional US fare are just two of its good points. Friendly staff and a buzzing atmosphere make this a great spot to have a coffee or glass of wine earlier in the day or sit during the evening as the sun goes down and the lights of Manhattan around you shine overhead. Give it a go .....you'll love it!!
I thought the salads, I had caesar were very very overpriced for what it was...lettuce cut into tiny pieces...and a small and unattractive bowl for serving. Plastic goblets were dirty and did not reflect the type of cafe this is supposed to be! Service was slow and rather inattentive.
