This was truly a one of kind experience. Three of us ate and decided to order the chef special seven course meal. It was beyond excellent. The waiter Juan was spectacular. He was attentive and made the night amazing. One of the best servers we have ever had. The sushi is outstanding. It was the best we have ever eaten. Food is amazing. The owner/chef is unreal. He makes the best risotto. Food was bursting with flavor as well as drinks. The campfire drink comes with rosemary garnish that they burn in front of you. The manager delivers each dish and shares the ingredients so you are aware of all of the flavors. This restaurant experience is one of a kind. A night to remember. We will be back.
Recommend the chicken and the tri-tips, both of which were excellent! The shaved Brussels sprouts salad was huge - could be shared by at least two, maybe three. Very nice home-made ice creams for dessert.
Great food and atmosphere
We ate here about a year ago and it was excellent in every expect.... Second visit last week not so much. Hostess was preoccupied when we approached, she then took us to a smallest table possible. We noticed that most tables were open, she seemed bothered when we asked to be by the fireplace. Our waitress was not very good... She was not polite and took time to answer questions. She gave us the impression she was disturbed serving our table, odd personality. Food was good enough. Beer selection is great, good cocktails and wine. Compared to other restaurants they are marked higher-than-average. Restaurant is clean but no spirit and low energy. Didn't notice any bus help and the table was never cleared until we paid and asked. Overall, we felt slightly disappointed when we left and commented that we probably won't come back.
This is just a observation... It seems when you have an all around great experience at a restaurant, there is a visible manager checking and filling voids where needed. Things like... Bringing your drinks if the wait staff is backed up, taking plates away when walking by, asking how your meal tastes, helping wait staff when needed. I don't recall seeing anyone that resembled a manager at this restaurant. They might have been in another area, but I didn't notice them in our area which was the main dining area.
Ice tea was cloudy. We pointed it out. Server shrugged. After a taste sent ice tea back. It was bad....
Got a new glass of ice tea after it was brewed ... halfway thru meal. It was not complimentary.
My guest could not eat chicken on her cobb salad because it tasted funny. So $16 for lettuce and avacado...
Place was empty. No wonder. Will not be back
Always enjoy the ambiance, cocktails and food!
I think this is the best quality food and best menu in the area. The prices are very good. It is obvious that a Chef runs the show here.
Overall a fine place to dine and catch up with friends after lots of family holiday gatherings.
Pretty room in back, with a fireplace. Service was fine, the lunch crowd was thin, but he didn’t pester us. The kale pistachio salad was good, the fried calamari on top was dry and awful. Server didn’t question why it was all left in the bowl, nor did I volunteer my dissatisfaction, mostly because I was focused on conversation with my friend.
Soooooooo yummy and our favorite place to go for everything!!!!!
Excellent dinner with many exceptional entrees. Well worth our visit. Will return
Amazing service with Adam, great food and always a great atmosphere, especially around the holidays with the lights in Lake Bluff and within the restaurant.
We love Inovasi and were excited to bring out of town guests there. As always, the food was creative and delicious. Our one disappointment was our server. She was efficient but not at all helpful or engaging. Since they offer small plates and entrees, an explanation of this would have been helpful. We also would have appreciated suggestions.
We had tried their Mexican Restaurant next door and liked it so this time we hit the fancy side. We odered the bread and it was really good. For dinner we ordered the grouper, pasta and steak. All were pretty decent .
We had a bad experience last Friday 12/14. After corresponding with management we returned for another attempt. Adam, the server,a true professional, the appetizers and main courses were exceptional! The dining experience exceeded our expectations! Thank you!
I'm a regular, and always have a nice meal in a pleasant environment!
We love Inovasi. The food & ambience have always been wonderful. Our waiters have always been wonderful until our most recent visit. The waiter (she) disappeared for long stretches of time . She seemed scattered & fragmented. Perhaps she had too many tables? I'm not sure what the problem was. The experience was highly disconcerting.
My new favorite restaurant. The food is beyond amazing. And the service was wonderful too.
Great restaurant in the Lake Forest /Lake Bluff area. Situated in the Quaint Lake Bluff Down Town square. Wonderful menu extensive wine list. Across the street from the Lake Bluff Brew pub. A definite thumbs up
Lovely place to gather with friends. Highly recommend.
Offered bar top seating, noise level was extreme. If you like being in a high school cafeteria-noises level - rude management if you complain and depart then Inovasi is your place
We live walking distance away and dine at the restaurant 1 to 2 times a month. The food is good and the wait staff is normally professional and attentive. The bar seating can very loud, especially on weekend nights.
Awesome as always - the menu changes with the seasons so we stop by regularly :)
Love the bar area ambiance! Service was great and food had great flavor. The feta bake was fantastic! Mussels had great flavor. Everything was an A+! Can’t wait to go back.
My Tortilla salad was sparse, very little chicken and small amounts of other added ingredients. Not very filling nor flavorful, very disappointed with my selection.
If you want the same old thing every time you dine......this is not for you. If you want great, interesting food..... that changes from time to time......this is your place
This was absolutely perfect for a dinner with my colleagues after a long week of work! Food was absolutely amazing and the waiter was very informative, hospitable, and patient.
I am never dissatisfied. Every dish and cocktail is delicious!
The food was excellent, the wine selection was excellent, and the service was first rate. We were a little surprised to have some noisy small children next to us on a Saturday night. But they were part of a larger group so it might have been a special occasion.
Super evening. Great service. Delicious food. From starters through dessert.
Another great night at Inovasi. Garrett (our server) was outstanding, helpful, talkative, attentive. Plus he had to man the bar when Abby had to leave early.
This restaurant has never disappointed me. This week I had a guest with numerous (really numerous!) food allergies, and our server noted each one. No problems!
This has become our new go to choice for impromptu lunch or dinner outings. The menu is eclectic and the food is very good and is made from local ingredients where possible. Service is outstanding. Outdoor seating in season is very nice. Top picks are the smoked brisket, rye chicken pâté, gatherer's lunch and their sushi rolls (dinner menu offers several sushi items). The wine list is good too.
wonderful food and attention to detail. parking is a bit of a challenge
Inovasi is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. Chef John de Rosiers continually updates the farm-to-table menu with new ingredients and a ton of innovation (hence the name Inovasi). Our server, Jennifer, is always outstanding.
Most affordable tasting menu I've ever had! And amazing quantity and portions. Ask for Adam as your server and he will take you on a journey you won't forget.
I sooooooooo love Inovasi!!! We go there for special occasions and THE FOOD IS ALWAYS AMAZING AND THE STAFF IS ALWAYS AMAZING!!!!!
I was really looking forward to our dinner with friends at Inovasi. I am so sorry to say that it was so disappointing. I will admit that the drinks were very good, but expensive ... we had a rusty nail. No bread or crackers were brought to the table. To get bread, you had to pay for it. I had squash soup, which was just ok, nothing special. For entrees, I had shrimp, which were very good, but there was a mess of veggies on the plate that were not recognizable. My husband had the sliced sirloin, which he didn't enjoy at all. My friends each had the brisket, which they said was dry and stringy, which if cooked properly, should not happen. The noise level was very bad ... I was reading my friend's lips, who was sitting right next to me. Would I recommend this restaurant to anyone ... I'm sorry to say, "absolutely not."
