It is his passion for excellence, beaming hospitality and tireless work that have been the hallmarks of John's 30+ years as one of the Capital Region’s most popular chefs. He is known for his outstanding food that he serves to "real" people in a fun and unassuming style. His simple philosophy has always been "put the love on plate." In doing this, people feel comfortable when reading his menus and do not feel as if they need to be a chef themselves to understand it. Inspired food and service in an unassuming manner with outstanding hospitality!
Always a favorite, and they never disappoint. Service and food excellent, and bc they were out of the bottle of wine I ordered, they upgraded for the same price. A much appreciated gesture. My only criticism is the lighting at the high tops against the wall. It’s very dark, and without even candles, it’s difficult to see the menu.
Went on Monday evening. Happy Hour special was great.. martinis and meatballs. We all enjoyed the food. Bartender and waitstaff were very attentive. It's just a bit noisy in the space.
Really fun place and excellent food.
Food & service very good but the ambient noise made conversation about impossible.
Great food as usual and our server was very attentive and made great food and drink recommendations. I made a reservation and was sat immediately. I will definitely be back!
Service was very good
We always enjoy our time here with friends. The service was great, the food excellent, and the ambiance nice and lively. Sunday brunch here is always a great time.
Very creative menu with great range of choices from small plates to sandwiches, salads and large dishes.
As always the menu and food were fantastic. The only drawback was sitting at a two-top with two other two-tops on either side of us. It did not allow for much privacy. In the past there was more space between us and other diners. This will not detract from us returning!
Food was amazing. The waitress was so great and friendly. The noise volume was a little loud but overall our experience was great and we will definitely return.
Everything was excellent. Cocktails were very good. The food was delicious. Apps were great. Osso bucco was so tender I didn’t need a knife. I love all the extras you get; white bean dip and everything crackers when you sit down; olive bread and flat bread with sea salt butter to follow; and dark chocolate bark pieces at the end of your meal. Service was great too. Will definitely be back.
Food was great and the server was very nice. Great night out.
Love this place. One of my favorite go-tos. Even on a ‘holiday’ like Valentine’s Day, the kitchen was up to the task. We ordered off the special menu and were not disappointed.
The food was DELICIOUS. The service was wonderful. I did think that a $9 salad should be a large salad. It was not large but so good. I had salmon that was outstanding. They feature unusual items like a duck club.
Excellent Ahi tuna salad. Nice wine selection. Great server.
We went to Innovo Kitchen for Valentine’s Day. The food was delicious and our server Vinnie was right on top of things. We got the Valentine’s Day special for $48. This allowed you to choose an appetizer, an entree and split a desert. Everything we had was really really perfect. My only thought was the price was a bit high. I had salmon and I could kind of see that. But my husband had a pasta dish so $48 was a bit high I think. Perhaps they could have different price ranges for different types of dishes. All in all, we didn’t care because it was a nice night out. This was my third time there and everything I’ve ever gotten there was delicious.
Excellent food and service. Priced fairly.
Always enjoy having a bite here. We sat at a high top in the bar area by request. Food was great. The atmosphere is good although the noise level is a little high.
Awesome as Always!
I really like this restaurant it has unique menu items and nice ambiance. May last visit fell a bit short to my previous experience (maybe new cook?). I was with a group of six and we selected items off the brunch menu. Dorito Tater Tots, A Snack plate for appetizers were spot on! Mac and Cheese pancakes, 2 frittata, KISS, fried chicken Benedict, cheddar onion bialy and French onion soup. Drinks Peach Bellini, one OJ, 3 coffees (French press). Finally we were celebrating a birthday so a plate of cookies with milk was selected off the dessert menu. Bill $198.00. $34.00 tip. Overall appetizers, soup, drinks and dessert were perfect no issues at all, main dishes and an issue if the eggs were in the bialy or frittata of tasting off putting. Very strong aggressive tasting egg over cooked maybe? The eggs with Benedict and KISS did not have this issue. The only other issue was one person commented that the potato casserole was heavy on the onion. That was more personal preference as 4 other people had good things to say about it.
Great menu with lots of different types of food. Not your ordinary menu. I have been here several times and have always left happy.
Our favorite capital district spot for outstanding food, service and value. A very creative and diverse menu that ranges from simple comfort food to wonderfully prepared entrees. Service is always great and the atmosphere is comfortable. We stop every time we are in the area.
As always delicious and creative food in a great environment!
The food is always delicious!
Last minute late lunch after shopping. Like that they don’t close between lunch and dinner. Great eggplant and burratta sandwich andwild boar grilled cheese were both were delicious. Paired with a nice glass of red wine from their great drink and wine list it made a perfect meal.
Great food, wine, service and hospitality!
Can’t wait to go back!
Innovo Kitchen bent over backwards to accommodate our group, even though we kept adjusting our arrival time. When we showed up much later than the official reservation time, they sat us immediately and quickly served us our meal when informed we had guests who needed to make a soon approaching flight, which was moved up due to the bad weather. Thank you!!!
Best experience when dining out money can buy. Run don’t walk to reserve a table or enjoy eating right at the bar.
Wonderful atmosphere and incredible food. Service was great from the moment we entered, Tina at the podium to the bartenders who were helpful with menus to peruse and advising on best dishes. The food was incredible. Highly recommend the Braised Short Ribs and the French Onion Mac n Cheese. Raspberry sorbet with a cookie and Peanut Butter Mud Cake to end. And don’t pass up the chocolate finale, delicious homemade dark chocolate that gets passed around to complete your meal.
I found the soup to be a little bland and the bean and dip. Dinner was was good, had the cod.
Steak was very pricey and okay. I would possibly go back for lunch but dinner was very pricey and okay.
My redfish was wonderfully prepared but my 2 companions found their dishes "close but no cigar". One had a hotdog item and thought the cheese was tasteless. The other had a hamburger and found that putting the added items (chopped olives +, I believe) on the bottom of the bun made it soggy and hard to hold. Hot dog and burger tasted very nice, but the construction around them detracted from that. Also the Frito Tater Tots, while novel, were dry and did not hold together for dipping or cutting.
We've been several times and everything has been excellent. The menu has interesting takes on some classic dishes, many of them southern, without being tryhard. It's become one of our favorite places in the area.
Monthly meeting of friends- some elderly. Noise level was terrible. We could not hear each other. We asked to be moved to a quieter area, but that was full.
The food was good and our waitress was lovely. Good place for the younger crowd who like the barn, tech feel. Not a good place for a conversation.
Innovo is my local go to restaurant for everything from casual happy hour to anniversary dinners. I have not had a single thing on the menu that I wouldn't order again. They have an excellent rewards program you can sign up for.
This dinner was for a business meeting - they were able to accomodate us and put us in a back booth that was quieter which is nice. My guest commented on how the restaurant was full even for a Wednesday night. I think that alone speaks volumes as to the quality and reputation of the Chef and his fares.
Food is original and has great flavor. Staff was super friendly. The ambience was great to for talking.
Delish our every Sunday go to!
We had excellent service from John C. We enjoyed the ahi tuna tacos and the veal gemelli.
Problem is, we don't want to feel rushed. When six women get together for brunch, and mimosas, we plan on sitting there for hours, drinking and gabbing. There were other open tables, so we didn't think we were holding anyone up, but felt pressured to order.
