Although our food, for the most part, was very good, we had a very inexperienced server. We were served soup without a spoon to eat it with. We were also served a shared dish with no serving utensil. When I asked for one, I was given a teaspoon which promptly fell into the dish. The server walked away and said “enjoy”. Also, I ordered a dessert which I did not care for. The server did not come by until much later to see if I was still working on it. When I said I did not care for it, he just took it away. At any other fine restaurant, I would have been offered something else or it would have been taken off the bill. But the part that annoyed me the most was having to pay an 18% tip that was already included in the bill. We were only four people so it was not a large party. This server did not deserve an 18% tip.

Location, ambiance, quality of food and passion of the owners makes this BYOB a must. Always quality meals topped off with housemade sweets.

One rarely is made to feel this welcome in a fine restaurant. There is no pretense, no condescension, only friendly, sincere, engaged service. The food is wonderful — some of the most creative and adventurous in the Delaware Valley. The chef as a complex palette of flavors and ideas that he blends and combines into delicious, uncommon appetizers and entrees. I can’t imagine anyone enjoying this gem.

We were very glad we decided to try the breakfast on a crisp autumn day. The service and food were exceptional. Beautiful setting with quiet ambience. We intend to return for dinner and even purchased a gift card for friends.

My wife has celiac disease so must be gluten free in all foods. This place is our go to place because many dishes are gluten free...can be made gluten free...and they check before they tell you what you want to hear. Gluten free?? Sure...just order it. They don't do that...just the opposite. As long as they are here we will be also.

Our recent dining experience at this restaurant was lovely. Six friends who had not been together in quite some time decided to give this "hidden gem" a try. We had heard of the restaurant but had yet to try it. Our experience was great. The food was delicious and creative and our server was delightful. We lingered on and the staff was so accomodating to us. We hope to return soon!

Top drawer service and exciting, delicious food choices. This place is so special that my fiancé and I are planning our wedding there!

It is one of the real treasures in Bucks County... a beautiful country estate set on 200 lush acres. A total wow!

It was a rainy Sunday. My friend is "brunch averse" and this place was welcoming, there were choices and it was all delicious. Would have liked to taken a stroll around the grounds, but it was too wet. The owner was on hand to discuss the unique history of this home. Very good experience.

Favorite place in Bucks County. It really has the ambiance of everything beautiful in the area. The owners are gracious and the chef Josh is creative and topnotch. You could be dining in a fine European restaurant.

A memorable Bucks County brunch. There were more exotic menu choices (boar sausages were intriguing), but I chose the traditioal eggs Benedict. They were perfect! The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere of the site itself is really wonderful. Next time, dinner!

We brought friends to Barley Sheaf to thank them for taking care of our home while we were away. Once again the food and service were outstanding. As a group we sampled many of the items on the menu. For openers we enjoyed Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Tomato Bisque, Atlantic Octopus and Harvest green salad. Plates were clean!! We followed openers with two orders of East Coast Diver Scallops, East Coast Day Boat Halibut , Rohan Duck Breast and at the recommendation of our waitress a side of Reclette Fingerling Gratin Potatoes. All the entrees were great and of course we shared and enjoyed, that's what good friends do!! If you want a treat for family or friends bring them to the Barley Sheaf Inn.

Very impressive! Beautiful setting, loved the open kitchen. Loved the gnocchi appetizer sorry that we shared it I wanted the whole portion.
Dinners were also very nice. I had the scallops nicely seared but the broth was a bit bland and too thin. Desert was amazing. We want to return soon.

Beautiful place, fantastic food! Small dining room that looks out into the patio and grounds beyond. Also a view of the kitchen from most tables. Try the octopus, it's thick and not at all chewy. The steaks we had were perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. The chocolate pudding desert was good too.

If you are looking for a true culinary and dining experience.....this is the place! What a treasure in the heart of Bucks County! The grounds are exquisite and the service was top shelf!!

A unique, delicious, creative meal, as well as an artistic presentation! Kudos to the chef!! The fact that it is a BYOB is a real plus and the decadent complimentary treats at the end of the meal were an unexpected bonus!!

So......Whether you are looking for a quiet romantic evening, a celebration or just enjoying friends and family....I highly recommend this restaurant to all!!

We will be back!! :-)

First of all.. WOW! This place is seriously a beautiful hidden gem in Bucks County. The food was spectacular and unbelievably fresh. Our server Pat so super sweet and very attentive. The inn itself was beautiful and made me want to stay forever! My boyfriend and I came for date night and had a blast. I got the duck which was perfectly cooked and just the right size. You don't leave this place hungry but you don't leave overstuffed; how perfect! We both got an appetizer and entree with a surprise desert from the chef. I highly recommend this place for dates, special occasions, and parties.

Bit disappointed actually - the starters were fantastic but the $38 filet was over cooked and tough. My wife is disabled and the bathroom is .. is .... well its a thing that was put in under some stairs
I like the place but I don't think we will go back as there are so many other places around that are just as nice and the food is cooked as it was asked for
.. and a waiter that treats you like you don't exist after the bill is presented just leaves a feeling of 'it's just about the tip'

There more I think about it the less I like the place lol
