The food is the main attraction. Everything was interesting and delicious. Very creative dishes. Cool historic setting. A real treat. Expensive but a food adventure.

Where do I start? The staff, everyone from the chef to the waitstaff , and bus people were so efficient and so pleasant. Brunch was delicious, looking forward to enjoying dinner sometime in the near future. We also enjoyed looking at the memories from the inns past.

Sooo delicious. I had tomato bisque followed by poached lobster tails. My husband had a salad and char. Since it is byob, you can your best bottle of wine and have a really luxurious meal at a reasonable price. We skipped dessert, but they brought a plate of little treats and even give you donuts to take home. It's worth a trip. And staying overnight at the inn is a pleasure too; we got a delicious breakfast the next morning.

This was one of the most amazing restaurants we have ever been to. The owners and servers were so accommodating and welcoming. The creativity of the chef was on par with those in New York and Philadelphia and may be superior to even those. Even a simple salad was so extraordinary. The grilled octopus appetizer with picked daikon radish was so amazing, even though I am not an octopus fan. It was one of the best things I have ever tasted! The wagyu beef was the best piece of meat I have ever tasted and the rouget fish with fiddlehead ferns was so delicious I didn't want to finish it. Even their bread with roasted shallot butter was amazing. The chef sent out a complimentary sampling of four sweets that were delicious and then sent us home with homemade baked donuts that were delicious! When the bill came we were amazed at the value for the quality of food and service we received. This is a hidden gem that is worth every penny!

The service was outstanding and the food was good. The brunch is prix fixe and had a good variety of options. I chose the more modest items and ending up feeling I overpaid. Next time I will go when I can take advantage of the more substantial items.

We’ve been going to The Inn at Barley Sheaf for quite a while. It’s a beautiful setting, the atmosphere is so welcoming and the food is superb!!! Josh, the chef, and Rob & Zach we’re the best of the best! Josh’s offerings are incomparable - like dining in a Parisian cafe. It’s absolutely the best!!!

We returned to the Inn at Barkey Sheaf with our adult children and our my inlaws, for a special occasion. As we have been accustomed, Mark (owner) met us as we arrived, someone took our coats and then we were escorted to our table. From start to finish, the meal and experience were reminiscent of some of the finest Michelin 2 and 3-star restaurants we have visited, minus the expensive wine list (the restaurant is BYOB). For a first course, the tomato puree was unique and a great start to the meal. For the second course, my wife had the Fois Gras, I had Octopus, and the rest of our group had other unique dishes. The third course was a main and was prepared exquisitely, with unique combinations. I had a fish called Rouget (a redfish, I suspect) prepared with a light, yet slightly spicy curry with "spring" strawberries (best described as a tart balance to the curry). Dessert was also unique with a peanut butter homemade ice cream and chocolate combination. We were quite satisfied when the staff brought out homemade candies.
Mark and his team run the operation like a finely tuned orchestra. Keep up the energy!

Our entire dining experience was amazing! We were greeted by the owners and given time and attention to every aspect of our meal. The chef, Josh, prepared a unique vegan and gluten free meal for me that was better than the vegan food I’ve had in the city. This is the best kept secret of Bucks County and we cannot wait to come back with friends.

Great experience, the open kitchen is a very interesting feature. The food was as a good as any place we have ever been too. I highly recommend the scallops and octopus. That it is a BYOB makes it a great place for foodies. The driveway is scenic, but primitive, so go slow and don't be put off.

We have been to the Inn at Barley Sheaf for many occasions. Last night we went for my husband’s birthday dinner. The wait staff and cook staff didn’t disappoint. This restaurant is one of our favorite restaurants on the entire east coast. The food is very well thought out and the menu is to die for. At the end of every meal, the chefs put together a wonderful little tray of Fresh made candies and you take a perfect little Barley Sheaf apple cider donut Home for the ride (or for breakfast the next morning with you coffee!). The owner makes sure to visit every table to ensure that you are enjoying your experience. If you ever have the pleasure of staying overnight you will not be disappointed. Wonderful rooms, luxurious bedding, a beautiful atmosphere with 50 acres of wonder at your leisure. We’ve stayed summer and early spring and both times were amazing. For anyone trying to figure out a wonderful weekend away or a very special dinner, this is your place!

My wife and I live in Yardley, PA. It is well worth the 30 minute drive to dine at this fabulous BYOB restaurant on a charming Bucks County Estate. The menu features truly creative local cuisine, we love it and can't wait to return on Fathers Day!

Food was excellent. Tried elk for the first time it was all the server said and more. Absolutely wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The noise level made it possible to enjoy conversing. And of course the ambience is soothing. Incredibly, the power was out due to the storm the previous day but the hosts had warm candlelight in all areas and made it cozy and romantic. So cozy that we actually forgot about the lack of electricity. Kuddos to the owners for the seamless way they handled a huge problem.

Really enjoyed our anniversary here. Very friendly, wonderful ambiance, and excellent service.
The menu is relatively brief but all the food was fantastic. Very nicely prepared, wonderful presentation, and excellent taste. They use a lot of local produce which is nice.
Met the owner and had a very nice conversation with him. He showed us around as well.
Will be returning here again. A+

We enjoyed a very good meal at the Inn's restaurant. Pat, and the hostess whose name I didn't get, offered excellent service -- friendly, personable, and professional. The onion tartlet was delicious as was the main course, a striped bass in lobster bisque. The brussel sprouts with bacon side dish was awesome. It's not inexpensive, but with the BYOB option it's reasonable, especially if you split some dishes. They also provide a home-made donut to take home, one of many nice touches that makes this restaurant/Inn different.

i luuuv this place as i feel that it lives up to it's reputation and excellent reviews from all. From
the dining aspect, everything is perfect the minute you enter the inn. the service is impeccable, the presentation is BEAUTIFUL, the flavors and freshness are hard to top!! All of that adds up to make this wonderful dining spot SPECIAL! Don't go if you will worry about the price tag.....you get what you pay for from beginning to end!

We are locals and this is one of two of our go to places. Josh is a creative chef who doesn’t mind pushing the envelope. He offers creatively prepared dishes in interesting variations. The owners, host and hostess, Mark and Denie Frank, are most hospitable.

Fantastic! The setting is charming, the people are extremely nice and the food is fabulous! From the 1st course to the last (don't pass on the desserts!) everything tastes Great and gets high style points for presentation of each dish. We have found our new favorite place!

We have been to Barley Sheaf many times over the past year and are always delighted by the food. The owners are very welcoming people.

The takeaway donuts provide a lovely reminder of a special evening the night before when savored over morning coffee.

A very special place if not so “hidden” anymore.
