The Barley sheaf is a great place for a special occasion small group or family gathering. Excellent food and service. We like that it's a byob.
Great ambiance. Comfortable seating. Super nice people. Food is outstanding and the portions are modest so you're not stuffing yourself. We go there fairly often and have never been disappointed.
Went for a late Sunday Brunch. The food was really lovely with each dish prepared well. They have a unique menu that allows you to order multiple dishes from a defined three course menu for a fixed price of $35, inclusive of a Mimosa. Best Avocado Ricotta toast have had in years. I had Bronzino with Succotash that was perfectly cooked, my partner had the Short Ribs with Mac and Cheese as a second course and Lox and Bagel for his first. We both had dessert - he the carrot cake which he said was perfectly balanced between icing and cake. I had the flourless chocolate cake, warmed, with home made whipped creme. We could have ordered other dishes but really, were both very full and satisfied.
We have dined here many times; and have brought many friends. They have never failed to offer the best meals with excellent service.
listen, I cannot say enough about BSF bc i feel it is THE BEST RESTAURANT IN BUCKS!!! I realize that when i do give it kudos that i am making it more difficult for me to get my own reservation but i feel so strongly about this place. The chefs are the most amazing and talented around so i hope they are there on a permanent basis if u know what i mean! the grounds are beautiful, the inn owners and help are wonderful and i feel that they all love what they are doing.....it really shows! the dinners which will run APPROX 150.00 incl tip from appetizers to dessert for 2 people is so well worth it in my book.........no need to go into Philly for a good meal EVER bc you cannot find a dining place that comes anywhere close to Barley Sheaf Farm restaurant!
We had a great meal in a unique setting. Our server was quick to ask about food allergies and diligent in determining what would work and what might create an issue. We had a Birthday Pak discount that was cheerfully applied. A great special occasion location.
Warm friendly atmosphere and very attentive staff. Excellent food, with unique offerings.
Beautifully decorated on equally beautiful grounds.
Exceptional setting and wonderful intimate dining room. No rush, no overbooking. Perfection
Best place in tge world to unwind and treat yourself.
Anyone in the Philadelphia area should have dinner at the Barley Sheaf and bring your best bottle of wine because the food is top notch. This is a world class dining experience!
Very nice meal, with lots of attention from servers and management. My husband and I each had 4 courses - salad, app and entree, followed by dessert. More than we'd usually order, but it was my birthday - something we didn't share with the restaurant. I think the level of service we received was consistent with other diners. My husband can't stop raving about his entree. He had the beef special, served over a green pureed bed. He can't believe he LIKED kale pureed with miso. I had a young pork dish, served two ways - pork loin and pork belly - also excellent. We'll remember to add this restaurant to our go-to list for special occasions.
We had an amazing dinner celebrating our anniversary. Service was impeccable and food was out of this world.
We visited Barley Sheaf for dinner this past weekend and loved it . Appetizers, entrees and dessert were all prepared well. The service was great! My dad actually said the whole experience was just as good, if not better, than a Michelin star restaurant we recently visited on vacation. I’d definitely recommend.
Wonderful ambiance, wait staff and of course meal prep. Would definitely return. setting perfect for special occasion.
Food was seasoned perfectly! Seasonality at is finest! Service impeccable!
It was my birthday and my husband choose elegant and quiet, which is what I like. The service was impeccable, thanks to our waiter, Pat (I think). He gave me excellent suggestions about the food. I like duck, and it was perfect. Looking forward to going back.
First time at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm. Food was excellent and service was attentive. Would recommend for special occasions.
A wonderful spot for a special brunch with friends! Loved that it was BYOB which allowed for the mimosas to keep flowing through the entire time. Very well timed service that never made us feel rushed or neglected and we were there for about 2 hours. Would definitely recommend for a fun brunch with close friends.
Service as usual is amazing. Our waiter Patrick always makes our experience very special. Chef Joshua is always creative and each dish is a wonderful masterpiece. The owners make sure your evening is going well. Love this place and it’s worth the 1 1/2 hour drive!
My wife and I had a wonderful meal here recently on a Friday night. The food was fantastic and the experience was well augmented by the gracious service. Most of the ingredients were locally sourced, but I strayed a little farther for my entree at the suggestion of our server. I had the Iberico pork loin which may have been the most tender meat I have ever eaten.
We will we definitely go back.
We have dined here several times and it’s always a treat. Very creative food with many well-balanced flavors that compliment each other. Staff was efficient and helpful when asked to elaborate on certain entrees. Barley Sheaf is a special place to dine whatever the occasion. BYOB is a plus!
Very nice experience with a interesting menu with several unique options. Well worth the trip and we’ll go again.
From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the most friendly and kind host you will ever meet, to the genuine service (thanks Presley), and ending with the super talented chefs...this place is a must for any celebration. Cost is on the high side, but this is when it is worth it as the food is superb.
Always greeted warmly. Attentive Waite staff. Talented chef (s). Beautiful setting.
Nice birthday brunch in a beautiful setting. The food was good and plentiful. Great spot for a special occasion.
I have eaten here many times, and the food never disappoints. The selection isn't large, but there is always something interesting to try. Salmon is not a staple on the menu, but when they do it as a special, they really do it right. I had salmon poached in olive oil. It was unbelievably good. Their octopus appetizer is always great, and the chef changes up the way he preps it every so often, which is appreciated.
We have eaten there many times and keep coming back. The place is just beautiful and all the people there are wonderful. The food is excellent and I like that the portions are appropriate. You leave comfortably full. Also, BYOB is definitely a plus to keeping the cost down.
Best. Meal. This. Year.
This place is firing on all cylinders. The dishes were inventive and delicious, the service impeccable and the setting beautiful. Can’t wait to return with friends.
My wife and I completely and totally enjoyed our Brunch, our server Paul was a perfect waiter and a very good at explaining any and all questions put to him. He discussed with us the origins and founding of the restaurant/bed and breakfast plus all the amenities that are offered.
This is a hidden gem that should be tried by any and all foodies or those just looking for a quiet getaway away from the crowds.
The brunch was wonderful, service was outstanding!!!
We'll be back, thanx to all!!
Beautiful grounds.... delicious food.....great presentation....... just wish tables were on patio. It’s a beautiful night in Bucks County; would have been nice to eat outside. Can’t wait to come back.
What a lovely 55 years of friendship, my bestie and I celebrated. The food was outstanding. Hope to come back soon, with others!
Excellent, innovative food. We've dined there multiple times and have never been disappointed.
Spectacular, as always. Great dining experience. Great service by Patrick.
Excellent food, professional service, perfect. We were close to the open kitchen and the sound was a little louder their but the view was fun.
We celebrated our 15th Anniversary with dinner at The Barley Sheaf Inn. The entire experience could not have been more perfect. Patrick provided on-point service with humor. We enjoyed a genuine conversation with Mark, the owner (best wishes for your daughter's wedding this weekend!). Every bite that exited the kitchen was well-thought out and exquisitely prepared. The flavor pairings, fresh ingredients, portions and plating were all perfect. If you have not tried The Barley Sheaf, I highly recommend it... you won't be disappointed. We'll be returning to try the brunch sometime soon!
It all felt very special from the moment we walked into the inn. It reminded me of any 5 star restaurant experience I have had in my home city, NYC, without the NYC 5 star prices, although not inexpensive. This is very unusual for the area and we were so happy to have discovered it. Mark is owner and apparently keeps everything running smoothly and professionally in a warm and friendly manner. We planned a regular night out, but instead had a very special experience. The food, the service, the space all fantastic. I feel this is a place we will continue to come back to time and again. Thank you Mark and team!
this is such a wonderful dining experience from the greeting to the server courtesy to the presentation to the super deeelicious food!
It is truly an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G place to relax, unwind and enjoy a superb meal in an enchanting spot!
DO NOT MISS THIS CHARMING PLACE!
Truly excellent experience - delicious octopus & steak, very helpful service from an expereinced waitress, and a good value. the only thing that could be improved is the decor - needs updating
Great food, beautiful setting, excellent service , byo , good value. What more could you ask for?
