Food was outstanding. Our server was new and had to learn the food descriptions. Also, had to ask for champagne glasses and open the bottle

Everything was beyond expected. The only suggestion is to make the 6 course 150$ and add the steak instead of the duck.

This may have been the best meal I have ever had. My wife and I were there for our anniversary. When first arrived, we were offered champagne. The menu said Happy Anniversary on it. Each of the four courses was so tasty that you didn't want the next just to savor the flavor in your mouth. We both had the Farm green salad to begin. Lettuce, radish, with fried goat cheese and local foraged morels which were the best mushrooms I ever had. A savory was than given before course 2. Next was Langoustine Croquant which was exquisite. An intermezzo of leeche sorbet with mulberry jam and sprig of fresh peppermint. My wife then had the duck and I the veal. Both were prepared superbly. For dessert my wife had the Strawberry Shortcake and I the Bubai Chocolate Tart. Both came with a lit candle for our anniversary. Allie, our waitress could not have been nicer. The entire staff was respectful and explained each course as it was delivered to the table. Chef Greg Vassos is a master and is on the way to make this a Michelin star restaurant! The Kaufman family has done an excellent job improving an already excellent facility.

We’ve lived in Manhattan and Brussels, so are quite familiar with excellent food….Barley Sheaf is up there with the best! Inventive food, clearly made with love (and it’s fun to be able to see into the kitchen!). The service was great! Warm but professional and knowledgeable. Looking forward to an opportunity to eat in the garden. This is among our favorites for special occasions!

We’ve been dining at the Inn at Barley Sheaf for many years and have celebrated so many special occasions there — we knew the previous owners, Mark and Deena, and always loved the food and the setting. So when we arrived recently and discovered the restaurant had changed ownership (now called George Kaufman at the Inn), we weren’t sure what to expect. To our surprise and delight, the experience was absolutely extraordinary. The staff was warm and welcoming, and Ahmad — part of the new ownership group — came by to personally check on us and make sure we were enjoying everything. The food? Truly exceptional. It reminded us of meals we’ve had at Michelin-rated restaurants. Every course was thoughtful, beautiful, and full of flavor. We started with a chilled, whipped zucchini soup — soft and airy with floral notes that added amazing texture and depth. The next course, a lightly tempura langoustine topped with fish roe, was stunning — crisp, delicate, and packed with layers of flavor. For the main, the Jurgielewicz duck breast with smoked parsnip, rye berries, miso apricot, and taré was just spectacular. Every bite was balanced, rich, and memorable. It’s hard to capture in words — you really need to go and taste it for yourself. We’ve loved every meal we’ve ever had at Barley Sheaf, but this was something new and very special. Congrats to the new team — we’re so excited to see where this goes and feel lucky to have a place like this in Bucks County.
