Indigo Grill Ratings and Reviews
Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. Coming from out of town. The food and service were excellent.
Beware - if you don't know the area - this restaurant is in a "hopping" area of town. Parking is a challenge but it appears that the restaurant offers a valet service.
The food is always good here. However, I made a reservation for a birthday. When we arrived, I told the hostess that we were going to have a drink at the bar first. After we were done, I asked to be seated. We were seated outside, and I stated that I cannot stand heat lamps and can we please have a table inside. I was told that the tables inside were all reserved. Was that a joke? I had a reservation! And it was a birthday. On my reservation, I requested an inside nice table and got one outside next to a register.
WE had been here once before. The remodel did not do much for the seating appeal. The menu was very eclectic, not much standard or even near middle of the road. We really enjoy the new and different but once in a while I like standards. I don't know how well this menu would go with families or the seniors that may dine here. The menu was featuring corn in most dishes. The beer selection was varied but limited. If you are adventurous or consider yourself a "foodie" you will enjoy the visit. However if you like to dine where there are a"regular favorites" this is not that kind of restaurant. It's a rotating avant garde type of menu. C&H
I had always wanted to try Indigo Grill and since my father-in-law was in town and we had put him at a hotel in Little Italy, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to finally check this place out. They were very accommodating when I told them we were going to be 15 minutes late. I was smart enough to note in my OpenTable reservation that we need a booster for my 8-year-old and a high chair for my 2-year-old, so when we arrived and checked in, they made sure to those two things up.
We were given what looked to be the only booth table, which was really cool. My older daughter and father-in-law sat on the padded bench and my husband and I sat across from on chairs. My husband is 6’1” and even he felt low to the table. Imagine me being only 5’2”! My older daughter was actually at a great height so she didn’t even need the booster. I ended up having to sit on one of the cushions to feel comfortable.
Our server was great overall. He didn’t always seem genuine in his friendliness and occasional forced laugh, but he wasn’t rude at all and was very attentive.
The food was great overall, but a bit on the salty side. The only item I had to ask to replace were my daughter’s green beans that really were too salty to eat even for me. My husband raves about the sirloin. I’ve had better, but he did have a point in that I do eat at pretty high-end restaurants through work where I’ve had really good cuts of meat. I had the chicken, which was a tad over cooked and dry. It was good that there was plenty of sauce, which made up for it. My father-in-law had the seafood soup. I only tasted the broth, which was flavorful, but, again, a bit on the salty side.
The cocktails were good. I had the sour and my husband had the old-fashioned. The wine we chose didn’t make my cut to look for it on my own, which I often do when I find a good one at restaurants. My father-in-law paid, so I can’t comment on the overall value. I’ll try them again to see. Hope they ease up on the salt.
The menu was fun (many choices and varieties)\, the portions were generous and the food was delicious. The ambiance was cozy and had a kind of quiet elegance. Our server, Natalie was/is a gem! She made the evening fun and her service was attentive, gracious and warm...
It’s been a bit since I have been to Indigo. I usually order the same thing all the time, the plank salmon. Hate to say it, but I was disappointed this time. The salmon didn’t have a lot of flavor. The churos for dessert were also just ok. Will think twice about coming back.
I have been to Indigo grill several times before and always liked it. This time the food was not as tasty as usual. I don’t know if it was a different chef tonight or what it was, but the dishes just did not have enough flavor. I’ll probably come back eventually, but not for a while.
Great spot for a date of any kind! Recently double dated with friends and shared some delicious food and drink. We shared a flat bread and board with grilled steak and chicken which also comes with a trio of hummus and pickled veg. Also enjoyed a bottle of red wine and later toward dessert (which I highly recommend) a carafe of the red sangria. The sangria is sweet but strong and enough to split between 4 people. Back to dessert - We couldn't make up our mind so we got the Sampler and it was delicious! Fun night with friends and easy to get a reservation.
Don't order the overpriced guacamole...the first batch they sent us tasted like they squeezed an entire lime tree in it. I reluctantly sent it back since we are not the type of people to do that but given how expensive it was we had no choice. When they replaced it within a minuet the second batch had ZERO flavor and decided that it wasn't a fluke and also sent that back. The Kung Pao calamari on the other had was good.
Overall I know remember why we don't go Indigo Grill, a menu that is all over the place on style of food, limited of decent selection, poor quality food, overpriced and loud environment inside (only about 3/4 filled).
First time here... I'm sorry it took us so long to try the restaurant. We had a fabulous meal, the food was hot and delicious! I have to make a shout out to our server, Maurisa, she made our night. Between her recommendations and her incredible attitude, we felt welcome and special.
We ate at Indigo Grill for Restaurant Week and the menu was a very good value. The service was excellent and the food was so good that even when the dessert came I was hesitate to let the remaining scraps of food on my plate leave the table. We ate outside and the atmosphere was fun and lively without it being too loud. Will definitely go back.
