Indian Accent's menu reinterprets nostalgic Indian dishes with an openness towards global techniques and influences. Chef Manish Mehrotra highlights distinctly Indian flavors on a contemporary menu.
We’ve been 3 times and each time the food, cocktails, and service have been spectacular. It is a bit pricey, but the food and service are well worth it. This has become our favorite restaurant and go every time we come to the city. Love it.
Service was top notch. Incredibly knowledgeable of food and spices. Food was interesting and fantastic.
Our anniversary. Our favorite NYC restaurant. Period.
What a find! A refined, elegant, contemporary and welcoming environment, with a menu and service to match. Tables are nicely spaced apart. Despite enjoying dinner on a busy night, my guest and I could comfortably chat and hear one other speak, without being overheard, treated to our neighbors' conversation or distracted by loud music. The food, with its subtle, sophisticated and intelligent play with spices, is innovative, downright delicious, and exquisitely presented. Service is professional and friendly. The staff are clearly well-trained and there are plenty of staff, so while the timing is impeccable, it also appears effortless, creating a soothing environment in which to dine. Not least, the wine list is excellent, interesting, thoughtful and clearly well thought-out with regard to food-pairings. Anyone who doubts that wine is not an ideal match with Indian accented food -- think again! Kudos to the sommelier, who is also very friendly and approachable and ready with helpful suggestions. Not least the decor is streamlined, relaxing and unfussy, providing a setting in which to admire the beautiful presentation of the food.
Amazing food . Recommend the chefs menu . Keep an hour and half for the 8 course menu . Good service , polite servers .
Shared feast for $55 available during weekends is true value for money.
Used to love this place, but something has changed. Chefs tasting should be in a timely manner, but first three rounds were rushed onto us, then we waited at one point approx 45 min. The entire evening ended up being 4 hours, which was too long. For a Michelin restaurant the staff and manager should have come to check on us or explain why there was such a long break, and instead I had to track him down and ask. We would’ve been ready to leave at that point. Too many restaurants in NYC to return here, I was disappointed.
Great experience: delicious food, excellent service.
Service uneven. Pace uneven. Food uneven
Food was good and service was attentive despite our waiter having a very large party next to us. The tables were very close to each other and we were uncomfortable hearing business conversations while dining. We were moved to a booth and that was better even though the large party was noisy. We would had the same if we had stayed at our original seats. Noise was an issue and he did detract from our enjoyment.
I had vegetarian, sweet potato and spinach dishes and my husband had lamb and scallop dishes. It was quite flavorful and luscious. The dal accompaniment and peas were also very nice. Nice tae selection and cocktails.
Super upscale experience. The dishes were a delight as was the excellent service. Very pricey, though. Can't say I cared much for the wine pairing either, so would not do that again. The pours were too small -- three tiny pours for $45.
Amazing food. Great service.memorable evening.best place to start your evening.
This is the most wonderful resturant! Highly recommend everything on the menu! Can't
wait until we can come back!
Lovely food. Service a little random. Waited ages between 2nd and 3rd courses. Staff seemed very nice though
Great food ...great service..a bit pricey but enjoyed every bite...very accommodating
Menu very restrictive. Unless you eat at the bar, all diners are required to purchase the 3 or 4 course fixed menu, for $125. The portions are adequate, but you better like your Indian food quite spicy. We asked that the food be moderately spiced, but if what we got was moderate spice, you'd better bring a fire extingusher when you dont't request that they moderate the spices. We do not recommend this restaurant, in spiteof it's popularity.
Great food. The Chef's 8 course menu is an amazing experience in itself. Very innovative dishes prepared with high precision and accuracy.
Excellent restaurant overall. Food was amazing with nice ambiance. Worth trying 3 course menu.
The food and service were superb at the Indian accent restaurant. All the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very flavorful and delicious, especially the Indian spiced pumpkin soup. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I hope there is a Michelin star in their future.
Had the Chef's tasting menu - it was great. Amazing food in a nice setting with excellent service. Wish I had gone back the next day instead of going somewhere else. Definitely will be back.
Had such a great time, food was amazing, servers were great. I don't really write reviews often but this time I had too.
Had a wonderful, special night out here ordering the pickle ribs, soy keema, and scallop/ prawn dish with black dairy dal as my accompaniment. When I mentioned I tended to like interesting gin cocktails, I had multiple staff members recommend and ask for feedback on a new drink they're testing out with curry leaves. I also loved starting out with the Pisco Rising.
At the end of my meal, after commenting on how much I'd enjoyed the complementary pumpkin and coconut shorba with blue cheese naan, they happily handed me an envelope with the recipe. (Soups take a lot of skill to make as flavorful as this one is, but I look forward to giving it a go with a friend who might not make it out here for a bit to try the version in-house. This sort of gesture—even if I could search for the recipe online—was a lovely personal touch.) The tables around me who'd ordered the full tasting menu seemed to enjoy their courses, and I noticed a few other people sitting peacefully at the bar and having a shorter menu. Great value, flavors, and ambience in an area where it's all too easy to end up choosing from the same kinds of meals at seven different restaurants on the same street.
Best Indian restaurant in my experience, and one of the best places I’ve eaten in recent years. Wonderful, creative takes on Indian cuisine, great service, and nice atmosphere. Bonus - quiet enough so you can actually talk!
Fantastic, beautifully presented nouvelle Indian cuisine.
Fabulous food and wine pairings. Attentive staff. Authentic food. Loved it!!
Extraordinary food and service. Always exceptional.
Man, this place was great! I went with zero expectations after being forced by a friend. It's totally worth the money. And it's true Indian food as well. Get the four course meal and enjoy it.
One of the best dining experiences in NYC. The choices were excellent the food fantastic and the service was great.
Awesome food. Friendly service. We loved it. Certainly we had a very good experience.
I love this place. The food is so great every time. Service and bar are too!
I found the efforts to innovate a little bit too much, the more traditional items were much better.
As great as ever; actually the food was as great as ever but the service has improved (used to be a bit slow). i've been to the one in delhi and can honestly say this version is every bit as good.
Great food and service, the staff was attentive and friendly and explain all the dishes we inquired about.
Had the 3 course package and each course was different and excellent.
Will definitely be going back again
Food was too salty. Staff was very nice, but food is very overpriced.
The food was fabulous and creative. We were told the chef travelled all over India to study the food and he put those ideas into this restaurant. The server, Captain Kenneth, and bartender were funny and willing to answer all my questions. The server rolled with my sense of humor very well. The night before we went to Per Se, a 3 Star Michelin restaurant, which was more expensive, fancy and exclusive. But I enjoyed the tasting menu and experience at Indian Accent more.
We received wonderful service and the food is remarkable.
Outstanding. The food is truly innovative Indian. It is light and tasty, not heavy and extra rich as some other Indian food can be. Must not miss - makhan malai. It’s a rare dessert to be seen at a restaurant - it’s actually a hidden street food available only in the streets of Delhi during the winter months. It was soooo good- we could have had more! I found the price to be worth it. Portions are on smaller end but packed with flavor
