Indian Accent's menu reinterprets nostalgic Indian dishes with an openness towards global techniques and influences. Chef Manish Mehrotra highlights distinctly Indian flavors on a contemporary menu.
To respect the dining experiences of all our guests we practice a restricted entrance policy, only allowing children aged 10 years and above
Everything was spectacular. The sea bass was a little too dry and the rice with it was absolutely dry - rice should feel like it just came out of the cooker and this rice tasted like it had been sitting - but the excellent staff immediately switched it out for a different dish and every single other course was truly world-class. I was blown away and would come here again in a heartbeat.
Stunning ambience, scrumptious food that is plated creatively & attentive, kind service....a Fabulous dinner!
Great experience. One of the best services and interesting meals we had in a while.
This is the 3rd or 4th time we have eaten at the NYC branch (we have also been to the one in London and Deli). The sommelier was very helpful and we had some pleasant discussions on wine. The food was all very good- we skipped dessert since we were full. Only suggestion is to serve a slightly larger portion of black dal.
Excellent food, delicious cocktails. Priced like a Michelin star restaurant but rightfully so. The barfi is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The potato chaat and baked paneer were excellent fusion dishes. Ghee roast lamb is unbelievable. Highly recommend.
- hard to understand servers - very poor English and enunciation
- long wait for initial drink order and subsequent wait for drinks
- food is an experiment with several dishes leaving you wondering why is this restaurant supposedly Indian
- just as we are wrapping up, and spending $425 for two of us, a manager comes to our table and loudly proclaims that he he would like to offer us a complimentary glass of wine at the bar, rather than directly telling us that he needs the table, which in itself seemed rude to me as I don’t think much time had passed since our last course had been served and finished. All of this occurred by the way at 9:45pm, and the restaurant closes at 10:30pm - seemingly way past last seating. We said to give us two minutes, after which we just left. On the way out I let the manager know what he could do with his wine.
I really loved the casual but quiet atmosphere, where you can really enjoy food and conversation in a relaxed setting. Not super spicy, so I can recommend it to anybody who would love the experience of trying something new.
This is one of those must try restaurant's. You will not be disappointed. The food and cocktails are specialized and stand out as Indian Accent dishes.
The service was amazing! The food was elegantly displayed.
Service was very slow and one entree was completely forgotten.
An outstanding meal before a show. Excellent food and service!
19 feb 2020.
Creative delicious food without being too precious. Beautifully presented.
Service needs improvement. Having been here several times, I noticed a lack of attentiveness during the recent visit
Interesting menu and superb food. Every course a taste and texture delight for the senses. Service attentive and timely without being intrusive. Just seems to get better and better.
Indian Accent is a very special restaurant. Whenever we're in NYC, we try to go and always have the special chef's tasting menu which is superb.
I bought my girlfriend here for a post-Valentine’s day dinner. Indian Accent exceeded our expectations. The food was phenomenal; the flavors were incredible as well as the presentation. The staff was incredibly knowledge and courteous. Shoutout to our server, Andrew, for all the recommendations and excellent service. We intend on dining here again in the near future.
We are huge fans of Indian food and were really looking forward to eating at Indian Accent after hearing lots of great things about the restaurant. Made it all the more shocking that we had such a bad experience with the food. Lovely space, ambiance, service, etc. But the food was just awful. We ordered a lot of different dishes, and there wasn't a single one that I would want to eat again. The flavor profiles were very peculiar and unsettling. Not sure if it was just an off-day in the kitchen or if our tastebuds all decided to simultaneously malfunction, but we were honestly very surprised and confused by how un-enjoyable the food was.
Excellent Indian food but bit pricey . The food is served in authentic dishes
Splendid traditional creations in a new avatar
I love dining here. The food and service are always excellent.
Something was missing in each dish
Sweet potato dish was dry
Chicken was on dry side
Lamb was good
Great food and presentation, the place is a bit cramped and noisy
One of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is amazing and not conventional, the atmosphere is so nice and great service.
Superb Indian. Very eclectic menu perfectly executed
Fantastic restaurant! Easily my favorite restaurant in NYC and one of the favorite restaurants all over the world! The food is always excellent, even exceptional, and the service delightful.
The experience was lovely. We had great suggestions from our server. There were a couple dishes that we thought was under seasoned from our 7 course meal. The rest was outstanding.
I’m very picky with my old fashioned and it was quite tasty. I liked it because it wasn’t so sweet.
Service was very tentative and helpful.
Delicious meal. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Small portions but delicious.
Far from authentic Indian with nice Indian touch
Great service including a good sommelier. The taste of the food is amazing. Not the on in a dozen Indian place but a real treat. Will absolutely be back!
The staff at this restaurant is so nice, and the food is wonderfully interesting and delicious. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend experiencing this culinary thrill. Indian Accent treats its patrons to Indian cuisine served as a work of art....
Superb, savory, delicious ... and a non-ordinary variations on classical Indian cuisine. Outstanding, from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Portions appropriate for a good meal ... not overwhelmed by tons of rice, etc. Sauces/curries were exquisite.
The most delicious Indian food I’ve ever had. This was my second time here and it was just as scrumptious the second time around. My husband and I each had the 4 course meal. Mine was vegan and his was vegetarian. Our servers were kind and courteous and explained every dish. Love love love it here!
Outstanding food ... among the best Indian food in NYC. Imaginative, flavorful and well-presented. Service unfortunately is a bit slow and ineffectual ... only reason I’m not awarding a full 5 stars.
Some of the most interesting/delicious food we have eaten in a long time. It’s an Indian restaurant serving anything but traditional Indian food. The preparations and spices were exceptional. A truly unique/marvelous dining experience.
One of the best Indian meals I have eaten ever.
