If you enjoy good Indian cuisine, I would HIGHLY recommend India. My family and I stopped there on our way back to DC from Boston, and I am so glad we did. The food is INCREDIBLE! The service is great and the restaurant sits in a nice neighborhood setting across from a park. I enjoyed it so much that my wife and I may drive up to visit on a weekend get-away.
Great menu. Need some time to relax due to somewhat slow service but it is worth the wait....
I enjoy the restaurants take on Indian dishes. Lighter and healthier. Fireplace and candles are a great winter atmosphere. Can’t wait to dine outside in the summer !
Awesome as always!
India has been one my favorite restaurants in Providence for almost 2 years. I’m hoping tonight was just a fluke, but it was not a great experience. Both the service and food were not on point tonight. The manager was helpful and apologetic, and we will be back because this was the only time we have ever been disappointed.
I've been a regular guest at this restaurant. The food is always delicious. There are always many creative dishes to to choose from. The service is usually exceptional - all waitresses and waiters are polite, engaged to help with selection of dishes, accommodating, and smiling! The restaurant is spacious enough to be able to converse with accompanying friends even if all tables are occupied with guest...
Food was excellent. Manager stopped by to say hello and to ask if we needed anything at all. Great touch! We are planning to return soon. Repeat business is the sign of a good business. Try it, I believe you will enjoy the experience.
Try the swordfish kabobs and upgrade to kitchari instead of rice. The staff at India is amazing and the new decor is so gorgeous. You haven't been to an Indian restaurant this nice unless you've gone to Tamarind in NYC.
Was our first time there went for our Anniversary the food was excellent the service was impressive and we loved the atmosphere
The food at India is always fantastic and our most recent meal there did not disappoint. My husband ordered the tandoori chicken and I had chicken kabobs and they were both excellent. The food took a bit longer this last visit than usual but it was a Friday night and was certainly worth a wait. Unfortunately we got a call from our daughters babysitter so had to leave shortly after getting our food but the server was gracious and kindly boxed up our food. Looking forward to our next visit back!
We went for a day-after-Valentine's date night and had a cozy table near the fireplace. The service was great and we enjoyed the ambiance.
Cool atmosphere & huge drinks! Attentive wait staff. Offered henna tattoos free for Valentine’s Day. Food very good, large portions, love the bread basket with a variety of naan.
The food was wonderful and the service on point. Highly recommend the Lamb chops.
Seated in a beautiful side room with working fireplace. Great drinks and great food!
Literally my favorite restaurant in Rhode Island. The drinks are amazing, food is so fresh and amazing, everyone there is so nice and service is outstanding
Delicious food at fair prices. Atmosphere is lovely and warm on a very cold night. Tuesday night deal is 30 percent off enters which you can’t beat.
I really enjoyed my experience at India Restaurant! The interior design and overall space organizing set a nice vibe. The food was really good, better than most Indian restaurant I've been to. The drinks are big portions (big glass). Overall a great experience for either a date or special occasion.
This pains me to write, as I usually love India. The kitchen ran out of what my date ordered. They substituted a different meal, without first consulting us. It was refused, and we ordered a different meal. This meal came out quite quickly. There was no follow-up to our satisfaction, by the manager, until after the meal was eaten.
Our waiter finally returned to our table with the bill, and no part of the meal was comp’ed. I can deal with that, no problem.
Twenty minutes later, I needed to ask another server in order to actually pay the bill.
I have never been cheap with a tip before. I left 2%, and was very disappointed.
We LOVE India! Our server Ankit was Wonderful.
Our children always get the complimentary henna tattoos, we love the nights when the belly dancer comes out!
And of course the food is heaven, I always wish I could rewind the night, and go eat it all over again the next day LOL.
Got reservations on Friday night. We were seated right away by a pleasant gentleman host! The Kaahi espresso martini was awesome; as was the jumbo margarita! The shrimp masala naan pizza appetizer was incredible!! While ordering my friend asked the waitress if the duck cooked medium would come out pink? She said, and I quote, "I am a vegan, so I don't know what it looks like?" Really? How about, "I am a vegan and I don't know but I would be happy to ask the chef for you?" Needless to say, she did not like the Tamarind duck "medallions." I had Bengal fish curry and the salmon was very tasty! My boyfriend had shrimp tandoori and he loved it also! Will definitely be back in the summer to the lovely outside patio!
We had a great meal and relaxed in the bar a bit afterward. The food is great and the servers are helpful if you are unsure about a dish.
amazing food and great, attentive service - can't wait to go back!
I love India! We always have a good experience there. The food is delicious, the wait staff is very friendly and the decor is warm and cozy.
We went for the buffet on Christmas day. The food, as usual, was so good. The only complaint was that we were being served by somebody who doesn’t normally serve and the service ended up a little slow. We don’t normally worry about slow service but one member of our party did not get the buffet and the rest of us were two or three trips in before he got his food.
This was just a snafu in a normally perfect service record and I would not hesitate to go back or recommend India to my friends.
This restaurant is on my permanent list of go-to restaurants. Always good and a pleasant place to eat. Love the outdoor seating in warmer weather. The Christmas buffet was great! Highly recommend.
Great food great drinks great service. Love it there
I love this place. We discovered it last year and have been back a half dozen times. Our server this occasion was nice - friendly, accurate- but in the past we had wait staff on more than one occasion who were fantastic- funny! Personable! Helpful! Quick! The ambiance is great and the drinks were top notch. Food excellent. You won’t regret it.
Excellent food drinks and service would recommend. This was our third time there and was amazing
Amazing in every way!!!
Very nice ambiance for a special occasion. Food top notch. Service prompt and courteous. Plenty of conversation stimuli between the Bollywood films on the big screen, TVs behind the bar, and the fascinating Indian-themed art work. Prices reasonable. Also, they make an excellent (real) martini.
This was our third visit to India restaurant and once again the food and service were great. Our party was a mixture of vegetarians and carnivores and there were excellent dishes for all. We miss the flowered patio out back, however.
Wonderful Indian food with super service in a great location. The restaurant never disappoints. We keep going back.
I love Indian food. The menu had everything I'd expect to find and dishes that were new to me. I ordered Tamarind Duck. It was spicy and sweet and tasty. Instead of basic rice I opted for a rice dish that was a mix of lentils and wild rice and cranberries - delicious and healthy and a kale salad came with it too. I was too full to order dessert and really wanted to because they have kulfi on the menu and I haven't had it in a long time. Next time I'm in Providence.
The servers verge on overattentive. The food was great but the curry to rice ratio was way off, way too much rice. Beautiful place. Worth the drive from Providence.
Great experience. Only downfall was no potatoe and pea naan!? Also, I was not credited for my drink offer. Cheers.
This was our first visit to India Restaurant and we will definitely go back. The outdoor seating was great for a Sunday afternoon lunch. The service was good and the food was delicious.
The food was amazing! We enjoyed the Mango Mamosas as well! And then finished out the night with some henna! Would totally do this again....Loved it!
The new decor is wonderful and the lighting has improved . The staff are incredibly friendly and the manager is exceptional!
highly recommend this restaurant - it is our favorite restaurant in all of PVD - service is fabulous and food is amazing!!
The food was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and cozy. I will definitely be dining there again.
