About India Restaurant
In 2016 we did a complete renovation of our restaurant. We closed
our restaurant for the month of January and built a new state of the
art kitchen, that has helped us improve the food quality and created
a better work environment for our hardworking and valuable employees.
Then over the rest of the year we renovated the bar, dramatically
changing it with the addition of three arched windows in the brick
wall, overlooking the park and welcoming an abundance of natural
light. We layed a new tile floor and replaced all of the dining room
and bar furniture, as well as improved our buffet layout. Perhaps
the most stunning improvement was in the form of new light fixtures
sourced and imported just for our restaurant, adding a warm and
romantic feel to the entire dining room and bar. We have been told
that #MagicIsInTheAir at India.

India Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I really enjoyed my experience at India Restaurant! The interior design and overall space organizing set a nice vibe. The food was really good, better than most Indian restaurant I've been to. The drinks are big portions (big glass). Overall a great experience for either a date or special occasion.
This pains me to write, as I usually love India. The kitchen ran out of what my date ordered. They substituted a different meal, without first consulting us. It was refused, and we ordered a different meal. This meal came out quite quickly. There was no follow-up to our satisfaction, by the manager, until after the meal was eaten.
Our waiter finally returned to our table with the bill, and no part of the meal was comp’ed. I can deal with that, no problem.
Twenty minutes later, I needed to ask another server in order to actually pay the bill.
I have never been cheap with a tip before. I left 2%, and was very disappointed.
We LOVE India! Our server Ankit was Wonderful.
Our children always get the complimentary henna tattoos, we love the nights when the belly dancer comes out!
And of course the food is heaven, I always wish I could rewind the night, and go eat it all over again the next day LOL.
Got reservations on Friday night. We were seated right away by a pleasant gentleman host! The Kaahi espresso martini was awesome; as was the jumbo margarita! The shrimp masala naan pizza appetizer was incredible!! While ordering my friend asked the waitress if the duck cooked medium would come out pink? She said, and I quote, "I am a vegan, so I don't know what it looks like?" Really? How about, "I am a vegan and I don't know but I would be happy to ask the chef for you?" Needless to say, she did not like the Tamarind duck "medallions." I had Bengal fish curry and the salmon was very tasty! My boyfriend had shrimp tandoori and he loved it also! Will definitely be back in the summer to the lovely outside patio!
I love India! We always have a good experience there. The food is delicious, the wait staff is very friendly and the decor is warm and cozy.
We went for the buffet on Christmas day. The food, as usual, was so good. The only complaint was that we were being served by somebody who doesn’t normally serve and the service ended up a little slow. We don’t normally worry about slow service but one member of our party did not get the buffet and the rest of us were two or three trips in before he got his food.
This was just a snafu in a normally perfect service record and I would not hesitate to go back or recommend India to my friends.
I love this place. We discovered it last year and have been back a half dozen times. Our server this occasion was nice - friendly, accurate- but in the past we had wait staff on more than one occasion who were fantastic- funny! Personable! Helpful! Quick! The ambiance is great and the drinks were top notch. Food excellent. You won’t regret it.
Very nice ambiance for a special occasion. Food top notch. Service prompt and courteous. Plenty of conversation stimuli between the Bollywood films on the big screen, TVs behind the bar, and the fascinating Indian-themed art work. Prices reasonable. Also, they make an excellent (real) martini.
I love Indian food. The menu had everything I'd expect to find and dishes that were new to me. I ordered Tamarind Duck. It was spicy and sweet and tasty. Instead of basic rice I opted for a rice dish that was a mix of lentils and wild rice and cranberries - delicious and healthy and a kale salad came with it too. I was too full to order dessert and really wanted to because they have kulfi on the menu and I haven't had it in a long time. Next time I'm in Providence.
The food was absolutely incredible, as always! The only issue was that our waitress was incessant with pushing us to order more food and more cocktails. It went beyond making sure we were all set, and got annoying to constantly say no thank you. Having said that, the food is 10/10 and I cannot wait to go back!
