I visited with my family the food was good.but after wating 25min to be seated Nadia the host took us to the table and she left the table was for four but only 3 chair, after waited couple min standing we asked Nadia for another chair she showed so much attitude as we ask something outrageous. And when we about to sit there was a chewing gum on top off the table we ask one host and after couple min Nadia pass by and we told her she also ignor then the third person came finally she took Care of it. Is this the customer service. Kate the waiter she was super she did an awesome job.but nadia was terrible.hope u understand and correct.
Our party went to India House for the lunch buffet. As I had not previously tasted Indian food to a great extent, was't sure what to expect. What we found was a fairly extensive buffet with a wealth of flavors. Some dishes were spicy, some mild. There was no marking to delineate spiciness which could be an issue for some. However, no one in our party had an issue.
I may have missed a dish or two, but tried to taste a little of everything on the buffet. Not surprising, some things I liked more than others, but nothing was really objectionable.
Our server was excellent; very personable, answered questions, and took good care of us.
Overall, the experience was positive, and can see us returning again in the future.
We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Menu seems to have more choices. Best Indian food around. Love the selection of breads. Staff is pleasant and can always explain any dish we have questions about. Tried some spicy dishes and glad they both had some good heat but did not overpower the food.
We have dined at the luncheon buffet several times. The food, service, and friendliness of the staff have consistently been outstanding.
I think the India House is very good food...but it is expensive. Most entrees are like $19 and rice doesn't come with many of the dishes that seems like it should...and it's $6 for a medium sized bowl of rice on the side! RIce should be included with the dinners - not charged separately!
I wish there were more restaurants like this in the farther north west suburbs. As it is, India House is a great place for lunch or dinner. Dinner is a pricier affair, with most dishes being ordered family style, so expect to order 3-5 dishes for 3-4 people. That racks up pretty quickly.
Lunch is a buffet...quantity and quality, for a reasonable price. It include dessert, traditional Indian ice cream, gulab jamun (sort of like donut holes in a honey saffron sauce) or kheer- rice pudding. Great stuff, very attentive staff.
It's a bit pricey for what you get...we all liked what we had though...
India House is an expensive and mediocre Indian restaurant in Schaumburg. The atmosphere at the restaurant barely exists. The food is okay but nothing special, and not worth the premium above other local Indian restaurants. We found the service, from eastern European waitresses to be acceptable. But we thought our waitress did not know much about the menu and the food being served.
The India House special platter was full of meats and fish, as well as lamb Rogan Josh, and a lenti dal. It was good and I could not eat it all. But it was also more expensive than it should have been. The staff was more than happy to package the leftovers to take home. I noticed that many people were carrying large bags of leftovers.
Overall, there are many other Indian restaurants in the Schaumburg area which provide equal or better food for lower prices and, in some cases a better experience overall
The India House menu is very extensive. Lots of vegetarian items and great appetizer we ordered chicken 65 which was enough for a meal. I ordered the mixed grill which was enough for two. Everyone is very attentive and we were not rushed. It easily outshines some of the more famous Indian restaurants we have tried.
I've dined here at least 2 or 3 times over the past 6 or 7 years; the food is fresh and flavorful, the menu has a lot of great choices and the service is excellent! It was also impressive to see almost every table occupied by a lot of other diners!
Excellent food and service! Price is a little high but you get a good amount in each dish. We had the BhelPuri for an appetizer and LOVED it! I had the Paneer Tikka Masala and my fiancé had the Chicken Chili Masala and we both loved our dishes! As always we got Naan and Basmati Rice and both were cooked great! We can't wait to go back and glad we found a nearby place with excellent Indian food!
This is our go-to place. Always great food and service, and it's just a few minutes away.
Great Indian cuisine. Courtious and helpful wait staff. Nice ambiance and decor.
My husband and I went there for a Valentine's Day dinner. We were running late and I called to let them know not expecting for them to have them hold the reservations since it was V-Day. They not only held the reservation but we were seated right away. The serves were pleasant and friendly. The portions are large and outstanding. We will definitely come back and bring our children next time. Thumbs up!
I took two of my friends here who'd never had Indian food before. We went for lunch and found that we needed to have the buffet, so we did and they liked it, but I would've liked to order off the menu for them the first time. As it was, I ordered one small dish that cost almost twice as much as the buffet, but the food was all delicious so I can't complain over all. We will go back soon!
We tried this location for dinner after many satisfying lunches, where the buffet is excellent. The basket of garlic naan pieces with a (palak paneer style--?) sauce for dipping was a great start. Our entrees were very good and quite satisfying; my husband had to take some of his back, which was very nicely packaged by the staff. Our server was outstanding; he gave us enough attention without being intrusive or abandoning us. India House has a wine list but but we ordered one of the tap beers. We were so filled we didn't order dessert, but I've tried several before at the lunch buffet and they are excellent. The menu seems to have entrees from different Indian regions--more to try and explore next time!
The food was okay, but I've had better at many other places, all of which are cheaper than here. $5 for rice is ridiculous, and it was pretty rude that even though I said we wanted two bowls, the server kept insisting on three, even though we could have easily ordered more (and we didn't even end up finishing the two we ordered since we also ordered naan). Overall, it's a nice place to go for a special occasion, mainly because it has nice decor, but the food is nothing special, and the prices are outrageous.
Went Here in the past for lunch buffet, it is amazing! Huge selection with lots of food. I ate here last week and had the dinner menu, the portions where very good and the food was delicious. You definitely have more choices with the lunch buffet, I would recommend the buffet any time. This place is my choice for indian food.
We are frequent visitors to this excellent Indian restaurant. Most entrees are around $16, but rice, naan and drinks can really add up. Our waiter for this visit was very friendly and helpful with information about menu items. Some dishes can be quite spicy. Three of our group had not been there before, and we requested that all the dishes be made mild for them. All the dishes were great and made mild as requested. Chicken makhani and dal makhani are always great; the palak paneer is another favorite of ours. The vegetarian thali is a great way to try a few different dishes without spending a lot. Most entrees are quite large, so plan on leftovers or share entrees during the meal.
This is one of our gp-to places when we decide to go out last minute. It's in the neighborhood and food and service are always on.
