IndeBlue - Collingswood Ratings and Reviews
We have been long standing customers for many years and always had a good experience. I cannot say that about Sunday, November 19th. The food was too spicy, pumpkin soup was cold. The Venison special was tough and fatty. The lamb meal my husband had, had more rice than lamb and was bland. I feel that the concentration is at the Philadelphia location. We were very disappointed.
Amazing food! The waiter recommended some awesome food. Get the spinach chatt and paneer, it was so good! Not very expensive, BYOB, but they offer a few bottles of wine which is great! It was crowded but we got our food quickly and the whole meal was 1.5 hours. Definitely going back.
Wonderful food marred by an overworked kitchen that meant for a long wait for even one of many courses ordered. No real excuse, but the food is so good and we didn't have a time constraint that I would return again in a heartbeat. Our wonderful waitress, Lori, made up for it with a complimentary dessert of yummy fig ice cream.
We've been coming for years, but this is the first time we were disappointed. Service was slow though they were not full. The waiter forgot to ask about spice level and we forgot to indicate, so everything was so spicy as to be almost inedible for us. The waiter mostly ignored us, so we had to flag him down for more water, bread, and rice. Worst of all was that my husband was served tandoori chicken that was not fully cooked. When we pointed this out, they did do right by taking it off the bill, giving us a shared dessert on the house, and sending us off with chai teas to go. However, food and service has declined. Perhaps they are concentrating on the Philadelphia site that has a liquor license instead?
Nice neighborhood and easy parking. Got there a little early and they accommodated us within minutes. Told them it was our first time and my husband's first Indian food. Waitress took the time to go over every item on the menu and answered all our questions. We told them we were in no hurry and they let us sit and sip wine between courses at our own pace. On a Saturday night! (We were very conscious of diners waiting, they had other tables available) Oh and the food was amaze! Start to finish it was a wonderful experience!
So happy my husband and I decided to try someplace new! The service staff (esp. Lori, our waitress) was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. And the food was terrific. We shared Inde's version of a pizza and it did not disappoint; really yummy. Then we shared a chicken and a lamb dish. The chicken was delicious, the lamb was heaven. Both dishes were tender, spiced just right, and made us want more, more, more. We will definitely be return customers.
If I could give this 7 stars I would. My girlfriend and I decided to go outside the box and try Indian food. Our waitress was fantastic walked us through the entire menu and helped us pick something we would enjoy but would be different. Sat out side and enjoy the people watching on the street, we will be coming back!
This is another of our visits here.
As usual the food was exceptional and reasonably priced.
The portions are very adequate and you may customize the spiciness.
The service is good and the food is cooked to order.
If you are unfamiliar with Indian food, the wait staff will explain the details.
The food was absolutely delectable. A vast variety of options from spicy to mild. The food took some time to come out but that is expected with fresh preparation. The ambience is comforting. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when selecting items on the menu. The best part is it is BYOB but they also have a wine list. A definite must if you like to try new food in an awesome environment.
Excellent meal been there 4 times now and never had even a hint of anything but good.
A Local BYBO. Not a big place limited tables and seating. recommend a reservation.
Appetizers are a mx of traditional Indian & Fusion very creative. Entries are mostly very traditional with the exception of specials which tend to be fusion.
Overall a wonderful place to take my wife on a date. The food was unique and amazing. Lots of vegetarian options, which was appreciated. The outdoor seating on the front porch was awesome. The service was a bit spotty, but because we were not in a rush, that did not keep us from thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Overall, it was a great experience!
IndeBlue never disappoints. Have gone to the Collingswood's location many times. The appetizers are my favorites. Love the crispy cauliflower which is delcious and very generous. We had a party of four and it was more than enough to share. Watermelon salad was a seasonal delight. Restaurant is a BYOB which makes the whole experience more afordable. Definitely recommend this place.
While this remains a very good Indian restaurant, it is not the great Indian restaurant that it once was. The consistency of the food is not always reliable. Also, the amount of meat served per dish is rather sparse in comparison to its competitors. I enjoy sampling new things off of the menu, and at the same time, I usually order at least one staple. Unfortunately, from visit to visit the quality and taste varies. I still believe it was with the expansion of an additional restaurant that caused the decline. With new Indian restaurants opening as the cuisine increases in popularity, IndeBlue must bring back it's "A" game.
