From the great food to the service, this place is a gem. We keep coming back. The chef/owner takes pride in everything he cooks. The staff can not be more perfect. Much time is paid to the smallest deatails.
GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incognito is the perfect neighborhood restaurant that gets it right every time. Right from the start they treat you like a regular, there to greet you by name right as you arrive and things just get better from there. Paolo and Adriana are both great covering the room, making sure everyone feels at home and man can the guy cook.

The staff is very well trained, always there when you need them but they never hover over you while you are trying to enjoy your meal. Great spot to take people from out of town or for a quick weekend reservation. Super happy these guys choose my neighborhood to open this restaurant.

It was a Thurs. evening. The place wasn't crowded, there was no one to greet you at the door. We were seated by a busboy who said any table is fine. Told him we had a reservation, which is why opentable thought we were a no show. Ordered the lasagna and a salad. The salad was average at best. Croutons that were definitely from a package, skimpy on the main ingredients. The lasagna was served in a small crock type dish, which was probably nuked to heat. Burnt bottom and pasta that was so mushed from being microwaved. Awful. Told the waiter and he shrugged it off. WILL NOT be back.

here is what happened to me:
it is bad business and discourteous and poor restaurant etiquette to do what they did:
If you don't have a wine that was ordered as advertised, you should come back and say so and suggest that the customer might choose another wine.
You shouldn't do what they did - presume that a different wine is acceptable. And coincidentally pour that wine in a carafe for tasting, allowing a customer to send it back if they don't like it. Don't we have that prerogative anyway when a bottle is newly opened.
And to stand at the table waiting for a decision does put pressure on a customer. All this said, you should charge at the MOST the carafe price, not the bottle price since you didn't bring a bottle. It was wrong and poor customer treatment. I do not feel good about it.

Food was very good. Staff very attentive. Although mostly empty they sat a loud, poorly dressed blowhard who spouted his politics through mouthfuls of food right next to us.

OMG another great meal, Chef Palo outdid himself with the special cognac veal dish with wild mushrooms broccoli rabe, and those special toasted potato cubes , desert was an incredible Tiramisu super fresh and smooth. Staff is very attentive and polite and invisible to the eye but dishes are cleared and glasses filled, tables cleaned without you noticing. More restaurants need to take notice of what a quality dining experience entails. The overseeing management of Incognito shows in the end product. Go and treat yourself to a great dining experience you wont regret it.

We come to Incognito often and there almost never a miss. The menu is interesting, the food well-prepared, and the service friendly and timely. Unless there's a big, loud crowd at the bar-and I've only run into that once, during the week- it's a rare restaurant, where its possible to enjoy a leisurely dinner, with terrific, flavorful food, and enjoy quiet conversation with friends. You can actually hear each other!

This was my first dinner at Incognito Bistro. I had the sword fish special. It was excellent.
We had a pasta bolognese special for a starter. It was an entrée but 3 of us shared
it as a starter because it sounded delicious. It was. We will be back to this restaurant.

I have gone to Incognito with a group, with a friend, just stopped in for lunch and they never fail to deliver. The only reason I didn't rate the food as excellent THIS time is because I thought the pasta in the lasagna was a bit overdone. This is the first time I have ever had any issue. The food is excellent but there is something about the ambiance that makes you feel like you're at home or with friends. I highly recommend Incognito for whatever your meal or occasion may be.

Home made haggis, sea bass with a piquant sauce and doughnuts to die for. There is something for everyone on the menu and our party of 6, comprising both fussy foodies and unreconstructed carnivores loved it. The restaurant has some unique artwork in a modern setting (look out for the murals on the pillars) and service is personal from the owners and a great team.

An AMAZING dining experience, from the time we sat down our waiter walked us through the menu and specials, all the food was out of this world, starting with our appetizer right to the home made donuts chocolate sauce. The Chef came out an spoke to us, love the hands on personal touch, this is a neighborhood gem, with a large entertaining room for parties. Will go again and take friends. All I can say is WHAT AN AMAZING BISRTO, TRY IT YOU WILL LOVE IT.

All around excellent meal. Four of us ordered 8 different dishes and everyone was delighted. Go for anything on the 'Specials' menu (pasta, fish!) which was described with feeling by our server....who could not have been nicer, smoother, more efficient. Other than a bit noisy up front this was a perfect neighborhood gem! We will be back.

Terrible service. Got much of our order wrong. Some items didn't come or didn't come as ordered. Owners were arrogant. Very tense dinner because something was always wrong. It took forever for our drinks to arrive. Then it took forever for our food to arrive. Some never came as ordered. Had the feel of a failing restaurant. Birthday candle was ordered with reservation. It never came. When asked, owner said "Well it's not like he's 16!" Terrible attitude. We were late for a performance because dinner took so long. Not an enjoyable experience at all!!!

The Flatiron area is loaded with places for lunch, but Incognito is a quiet getaway. The tables are well spaced and atmosphere is inviting. If you have the time for a leisurely lunch, this is a place to unwind.
But if you are in a hurry, the attentive staff will be sure you can eat and run.

The $24 prix fixe lunch is a good value and the wines are well priced.

I've been to Incognito a few times now. Every time, whether I've gone with a crowd for a celebration or it's been a simple lunch for two, has been a wonderful experience in every way: food, wine or cocktail, service and atmosphere. I highly recommend you try Incognito for your next meal out when you want to sit back, relax and enjoy the experience.

Returning to INCOGNITO is always a pleasure. First, warmly greeted like old friends by co-owner & hostess Adriana. Having been there for lunch & dinner, I decided to try their new Sunday Brunch. So many tasty choices, it made it difficult to chose. We finally decided on the grilled shrimp & Caesar salad, poached eggs & grilled asparagus and an omelet with crumbled sweet sausage & bacon (with frites). Each perfectly prepared. Being Easter, we decided on cocktails: a mimosas & a perfect spicy bloody Mary. I can't wait to return to this wonderful bistro for another memorable meal.

this place had a notable brunch menu that looked worth trying.
they also had a drink special, i think it was a fixed price for unlimited drinks, vs 9 or so bucks for drinks a la carte.
the restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived - maybe one other table.
it was quiet.
we had some drinks. ordered our brunch. the food was so so. the drinks were good but service was slow.
one member of our party had more than 2 drinks and the waiter didnt give him the unlimited pricing, he gave him the a la carte pricing.
we didnt want to stay and argue, but it would have been nice to save us the 5 bucks.
anyway, we will not be going back. it wasnt an exceptionally bad experience - just not worth going back.

We had a group of six with various food preferences, which is why I chose Incognito. There's something for everyone on their menu. We shared appetizer plates (vegetable, meat and muscles) which everyone devoured, while sipping fine red wine. Main courses covered the gamut from meat and fish to pasta, with everyone super pleased with their selections. Wait staff are attentive without being overbearing and there's never any sense you're being rushed. It's like you're own dinner party, without having to cook to or clean up afterwards -- one where you get to be a guest also.

Everyone has a great time!

As a visitor to NY, we debated whether to go to Incognito bc it wasn't Zagats rated . After reading the story of Incognito Bistro on their website and reading the great tripadvisr reviews, we took a chance.
We are so glad we did!
Paolo and his staff gave excellent service and the food was fabulous. We consider ourselves foodies and rather picky about the quality of our cuisine. Incognito Bistro exceeded our expectations! We loved the Haggis appetizer, salads, Scottish salmon and grilled seafood platter. His desserts were delectable too. The wine list was predominantly Italian options with full service bar.
We will definitely be returning to this gem of a spot. Be sure to read Paola's story on the website before you go. Go and enjoy Paola's diversity and variation on delicious Scottish Italian cuisine!

Incognito has been one of my favourite NYC restaurants since we first went three years ago. The welcome is always warm, the service efficient and friendly, and I love the fact that there is space between the tables so that I am not listening to every detail of someone else's conversation.

Incognito is now doing brunch. The menu includes standards and some surprises. I chose the Scottish breakfast and greedily ordered extra black pudding. It was all excellent - the bacon is tasty and not burned to a crisp; the black pudding comes from Stornoway and has just the right balance of spiciness; and the sausage were meaty and smoky. The others in our party had the chicken salad which I'm told was scrumptious, and the bread pork escalope (with some of my extra black pudding...).

My only suggestion - don't even think of having dinner later on - you will be too full!

I have been coming to Incognito for several years and absolutely love this restaurant!! The food is consistently outstanding--I love the pizzas, pastas, scallops and whole baby chicken. The service is very attentive, the ambiance is really lovely, and the people are very warm and friendly. Lucky for me, they have recently opened for brunch, and their pancakes are absolutely incredible!! Incognito has become one of my regular stops for a wonderful evening with fabulous food! I was looking forward to trying this restaurant and could not have more disappointed. The food was mediocre and the service was incompetent. There did not seem to be a manager or an adult who had a clue about how to run a restaurant or serve customers. The food was more like an average diner - not great but edible.

I had bid on and had won a chef's tasting menu for 4 with wine. How lucky I was to have won.
It was wonderful from the greeting when we arrived, until the good bye when we left. They asked if we wanted us to pick what we wanted or just let them choose, we went with what they wanted to serve. Each course was better than the next. Some of the outstanding choices were the goat cheese ravioli, bowtie with sauage and broccoli rabe and the seared scallops. We will definitely be back
