Sushi was anazing! Highly recommend.
I just wished that our table wasn't close to the door. You would think that because you used OpenTable, that you would get a good seat.
Great Sake and food was fresh and wonderful. Service great
Large space, pretty attentive service, for presentation good. Ventilation subpar so I left the restaurant with the stink of a kitchen on my clothes. Still I'd go back as the shumai was great and sushi rolls beautiful.
Good food but a little expensive for what you get. Worth a try.
It was Whole Foods quality sushi with high price tags. Not worth it.
Great, friendly service ! Good deal on sake flights .
Just go here and try it if you want real Japanese food.
Conto salato. Davvero salato. Prezzi davvero fuori dalla norma.
One of the most consistent and delicious places in this area.
We’ve been here several times, the food and service are consistently great. They prépare à great birthday greeting and the nightly mochi preparation is a lot of fun
Pre-theatre dinner. Great ambiance, food was delicious. Highly recommend!
We had an excellent dinner. The atmosphere and service were great.
Although the food is great and the service good, the noise level can interfere. The restaurant wasn’t full when we dined there and yet the level was high.
The space is clean, modern and open. The front door is heavy and on a windy day difficult to open. When they notice, the staff runs to assist those who have trouble, but it’s not for the weak.
I must say I am glad I found this restaurant. It will definitely be a pre theater go to or if in the area as well. It is a fairly authentic Japanese menu and with delightful service. Sitting at the counter was a fun treat as the chefs serve the plate directly to you. Cocktails were nice as well. It was a welcome change to the usual cuisines in this area. No matter what level of hunger you have, the menu offers a variety to satisfy appetites.
I loved it! It may be a bit pricy but really good food and great service. Love to come back again.
Great restaurant service food and experience!!!!!
The service we received from here was not good. We were excited to try this place as we have never been here before and did not know what to order or what was good. Our waiter was not helpful at all. When we asked questions he made us feel like we were annoying him. Part of a waiters job is to help the customer order so that they have a positive experience in the restaurant.
Authentic Japanese upscale izakaya experience - pricey but it is worth it. Majority of staff is Japanese. Selection of sake is also great!!
Lovely ambience. Attentive staff. Very clean/fresh food. Mixed group of omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. All were pleased!
Meat skewers over cook. Sushi is fresh. Friendly services great atmosphere.
Always solid, great food, quick service
This is very good for pre-theater because it is good quality food, quick service and fun place.
I was good and great preasentation
Un ristorante giapponese vero nel cuore di New York. Si mangia benissimo, tutto molto buono. Lo consiglio a tutti gli amanti della cucina giapponese. I costi sono quelli di New York.
Great food and service. A little loud but tolerable.
Experience was just OK. Service was indifferent. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Just did not feel friendly or dedicated to good service. They pushed sale when we wanted Japanese beer. Would not go back until we tried other Japanese restaurants first.
We wanted good Sushi, in a place we could sit down, before our theatre show . Based on a few other reviews this fit the criteria and it came through on every criteria. When we made the reservation on Open Table only spots at the bar were available. To our advantage a table was open when we arrived. The sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. I particularly loved the fatty tuna sashimi! My 17 year old said he would eat sushi everyday if this was available to him. Perfect meal before sitting for the theatre.
Have been a fan of Inakaya in Japan for decades. This New York Inakaya is a modern enlarged version of its Roppingi counterpart. Not as intimate and playful as Inakaya Roppingi, but we had the most delicious grilled jumbo oysters with garlic and butter along with the grilled ginkgo nuts and shishito peppers and grilled mochi with a delicious cold sake.
The food was both esthetic and very good. The seafood dishes better than the meat ones. Would recommend the second fixed tasting menu. The brazed tuna salad exceptional. The whole lobster wonderful. The tuna over crispy rice fantastic. And the ice cream too not the usual fare
We tried the robata and sashimi and preferred the sashimi. The fish was delicious and beautiful. The grilled ground chicken was also quite good. The duck was a bit tough to eat and that wasn’t a favorite. Would definitely go back! Lovely service.
Great food. Fresh and tasty. Friendly and professional service.
Food was very good - quite empty when I arrived at 5:30 but filled up nicely by 8:30pm
The sushi was very fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed!
