Imperial Koi Asian Bistro Sushi Bar Ratings and Reviews
The sushi was very good, some of the best I have had in Greensboro. The waitress was polite, but not warm or talkative. She never asked if I wanted a second glass of wine, never came by to check on us. The food took almost 40 minutes to arrive and the restaurant was less than half full. No one came by to let us know there would be a delay. Overall, the fabulous sushi made up for the wait and service but for the money, I expect a lot better service.
Excellent food !!!! Excellent service .....our waitperson , Ashley , was friendly , attentive , & made sure everything was exactly like we wanted it . Also , great Sake , black & gold ....
Very enjoyable evening with friends .....food presentation is always beautiful
Ok, so I know it was NYE which is a busy night... However, it looked as though they set up the tables as crammed in as possible... We were so close to the other tables we were pretty much dinning with everyone there... Which, when you're spending that kind of money out on a date night with your husband, it's not ideal... The food was really good, but not sure if the rolls were really worth $20 a roll... Drinks were really good. And my husband raved about the Hot & Sour soup! Would like to go back and try them on a less busy night out... Still highly recommend as a Greensboro staple. Always good eats!
Great sushi and other dishes; excellent cocktails. We were there on Christmas and it was packed, making service a bit slow. The sushi was worth the wait though. Aside from the usual rolls, they serve their own creations. One of the rolls we ordered was wrapped in lettuce instead of seaweed. Beautiful presentation and quite tasty. We'll definitely return.
Service left a lot to be desired. Two couples, four entrees, two served and ten minutes later the other two entrees no where in sight. Waiter vanished and we stopped the hostess as she walked by to inquire about our missing food. Rush job in the kitchen as vegetables were practically raw and Pad Thai was missing ingredients. Dessert was complimentary but never was approached by management. Have to think about this restaurant before going again
We were in town visiting family for Christmas and to celebrate my son's birthday. He loves sushi and Imperial Koi was recommended by a family member for his birthday celebration. It was an excellent choice. There were great options for the non-sushi lovers and the sushi we ordered was very good. Everyone was extremely pleased with what they ordered. There was a blip in the kitchen and a steak dish that was ordered medium rare came out well done, but this was very quickly fixed. The atmosphere was excellent, well decorated and very cozy. This would be an excellent choice for a date night or anniversary. I would absolutely recommend Imperial Koi if you are in the mood for Asian fare.
This was our first visit to Imperial Koi. I had heard good things about it. My family loves sushi & I love hibachi. So while they were in for the holidays we thought we'd celebrate with a nice sushi dinner before viewing the lights in Sunset Hills. The ambiance was nice. The food was okay. It wasn't a place I would go out of my way to eat again. There are places with much better quality sushi & hibachi for less that are much closer to my side of town. It was good but overpriced.
We came together at aimoerial Koi with family from out of town after a day of Christmas shopping. The ambiance is elegant and upscale. We started with a duck appetizer for the table that was great. The sushi bar is well appointed and the creativity of the rolls were a nice surprise. The sashimi and nigiri were fresh and tasty. Several ordered entrees off the Chinese menu such as the General Tso chicken which was made to order with limited spicy seasoning for someone who didn’t want any heat. It was delicious too. They also had Kirin Ichiban beer which goes great with sushi. The dessert, some type of fried banana, ice cream and cinnamon combo was a fantastic finish.
Usually this is my go to sushi place usually wonderful he presented beautiful looking and delicious tonight however nothing was beautifully presented but they ran out of fish have to thaw fish while we were there some of the edges were kind a hard and chewy I don’t know what happened in the kitchen if they have a new chef but the plates were playing rather boring looking sushi all lined up in a row with no extra ornamentation or their usual beauty and the fish was only so-so
I was really excited to go for a date with my husband here, but the experience was disappointing. The food was alright, but definitely not the best in town. The decorations and ambiance were wonderful but we got seated next to an obnoxious table even though there was plenty of space in the restaurant. We left as soon as we could.
My wife met at Imperial Koi for lunch a week ago and now wanted us to both experience it. An excellent well-appointed restaurant, a courteous and helpful waiter, a real find for us (not sure why it took us so long). A minor complaint is that my wife had liked the sweet potato tempura roll and wanted me to try it. Instead the waiter brought us shrimp tempura, and when we pointed out this wasn't what we ordered, he smiled and said he was sure we would like this instead. Which we did, but still, a bit odd. Despite that, an excellent restaurant, and we'll return.
I REALLY wanted to like this place! I am of Japanese heritage and I was craving sushi. We went on the recommendation of a friend. The restaurant itself has a very nice atmosphere but, unfortunately, the sushi was terrible. They specialize in a variety of "new" rolls which simply have too much "stuff" in them. We ordered only nigiri; the fish had either been frozen or it was several days old. Nothing tasted fresh. This place was a true disappointment!
