Great, as always. Noise level is high, though. Challenging for a round table of boomers. (Was better after some loud fellow patrons left, but is an issue.)

Our trip to Imperial was a mixed bag. We were told a large group had gotten in before us and caused the long delay. My wife had the pork chop, which was very bland. I order the short rib special, which would have been wonderful, but came out cold. The brussel sprouts were over cooked and had a slight burnt taste to them. Overall, you could tell under optimum circumstances our meal could have been good (other than my wife’s pork chop). All might have been caused by a weekend rush on restaurant week. Our server was professional and unsolicited sympathetic – he deserved high marks. We were not in any sort of rush because we were with good company, which was a good thing.

Our dinner was fantastic. We were offered seats at the chefs counter overlooking the wood fire grill, which was a fun experience. The chef was interactive throughout our meal, the food and drinks were spectacular. We will be back!

My mom and I went here for brunch. We like to ramble around Portland and try out different spots and we had originally written off Imperial because we thought the menu was too plain. OMG WE WERE SOOO WRONG! The items they had on the menu were simple with a twist. I had the best fried chicken of my life here. So moist on the inside but crispy on the outside. I brought my leftovers to my boyfriend who ate it 2 hours after we got home which was actually about 4 to 5 hours later and he said it was still just as crispy. Don’t know how they did it but bravo. The only bad thing was we said we wanted boxes for our food and our waitress somehow thought we wanted our food thrown out so she tossed it but she was nice enough to make us another meal on the house to compensate.

Excellent meal; we miss the coal-roasted sweet potato, but plenty of other options. Short rib and risotto were excellent. Good GF and V options. Only note is that items from the big fire tend to arrive warm rather than hot, possibly because they’re waiting on rest of order? Still an excellent meal.

DON’T waste your money here. We enjoyed our steak dinner last year so brought friends with us this time. I’m tired of being escorted past several empty tables( at least 20) to the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. Guess my color?
The Delmonico steak at $52 was TOUGH and DRY. The Brussels Sprouts were burnt. Portions laughable. We did like duck meatballs which cost $6 each!
The restaurant began to fill up and the only other party of Black folks were seated in the rear at the table we refused.
Never going back.
The waitress was informative but did not check on us during the meal. No pleasantries as we left.

Everything from the cocktails to the dessert was fabulous. Elk tartare is a must-have, as was the duck breast. Creamed kale was outstanding as well. A very nice dining experience that isn't too over the top.

Burger was good but our salmon and razor clam linguine was small and disappointing for the cost. Clams did not taste fresh. Suggest ordering the burgers and fried chicken.

Very good brunch. Food was excellent. They serve one of my favorite teas and my friend felt that the coffee was excellent. You pay a bit more for the name, but the food was good.

The food and service were great, but the combination of an open kitchen, ambient dinner noises plus fairly loud piped-in music made it very difficult to talk to each other.

The food was absolutely delicious and our server was a doll. I had a bunch of other servers pass with a water jug that didn't notice that I needed more water, even when I lifted my hand politely. However, my server came by to check on us and upon seeing us not having water grabbed a jug, so I don't blame her at all. Overall super yummy brunch to spoil ourselves. Also, the "poptart" should be renamed to "dreamtart" or "heavenlypastry" or something because it was the lightest, fluffiest, perfectly sweet with tart jam filled tasty treat to ever touch these lips. Thank you to whoever invented that little gift from above. 9/10

Love the fried chicken, oysters are delicious as well. Great service even though it was a busy night. Also have been for happy hour and enjoyed both.

Waitstaff was great. Knowledgeable when we had questions. We were early and they were accommodating even though they were busy. Food was delicious and spirit selection was awesome.

We LOVED everything we ate. Cleaned our plates! The only odd thing was that we were a group of four and we were seated at a round table for five. I wish they would’ve removed the 5th chair so that we could evenly disperse ourselves around the round table. We didn’t ask for it to be removed so that’s also partially our fault. All in all, it was enjoyable and the food was superb. Drinks were delicious, and the details in the decor really make the place.

We had a great experience on Valentine’s Day! Our server was awesome, the menu was great, and everything was delicious as always. The only downside is that it was quite noisy, but it was a holiday and every table was full. Will be back, of course!

Everyone raves about the pork chop and I was disappointed. It was half fat and not super tender. The pear? Sauce didn't compliment it very much. The mustard seed was good with it though. The bacon collard greens were delicious. My bfs flat iron steak was super good and tender. It was kinda cold. The bread rolls were amazing. The cocktails were tasty too.

The number one no-no for a chef is under seasoned food. The food was woefully void of seasoning. I remember the chicken being perfectly seasoned last time I had it several years ago. Another no-no is serving food that is cold that is supposed to be hot. My husband’s pork chop was cold and when he sent it back it unfortunately returned warm - but, dry and overcooked. The service was excellent and I would give them an A+ for that. They comped desserts/ but, my husband doesn’t eat dessert.

Service was great. Food was delicious. Veggie sides were inventive and had incredible flavor. Price points for proteins were a tad high for the portions provided. Otherwise, wonderful experience.

The entire dining experience was amazing! The atmosphere was fun and lively, but not too loud. The food was delicious and the combinations of flavors and plating was impressive and very creative. I cant wait to try more items on the menu. We will be back every time we visit Portland!

Service let this place down. There wasn't a request made of our server that didn't seem to make him annoyed. Not sure if it was attitude or just boredom. Food was decent. Pity the service isn't up to par.

First time to eat at the Imperial but won't be our last. Reservation made online and received a reminder call day of reservation. Tough drive from Hillsboro for a 5:15 pm reservation, but was rewarded by friendly and consoling server with wonderful service. Our meals were first rate. The mushroom risotto was out of this world. I thought my wife was going to pickup her plate and lick up the remnants on the plate it was so delicious. Thanks and cheers for the Imperial.

We booked imperial last minute. The food was good. I had the clam linguine and bread and the gf had the wings and fries. The service was prompt but the food could have been better. Definitely not the Imperial of Old

The food was really excellent. I came with my wife and daughter-in-law and we all agreed about that. The service was also excellent BUT, we unfortunately we would not come again because the noise level was just SO LOUD that we could hardly hear each other speak.

Wish you could something about that. It probably doesn't bother the younger crowd but it sure did bother us.

Went here for a business team dinner. We had great service from the staff - start to finish. Food was well timed and delivered promptly. One item was mis-delivered, and the wrong person started eating it. Once they realized the error, they promptly ordered a replacement item and delivered it quickly. Food was good quality and tasty. They had several options to cover multiple needs - vegan, veg, paleo.

Biggest bonus was a large round table that could comfortably seat our 8 diners. Was great for cross table conversation.

Got a bit loud as the night went on, but never over the top.

We'd go back again!

Wonderful food and outstanding service. I would have preferred it if the atmosphere was perhaps more conducive to quiet conversation, although overall the noise levels were not overwhelming, but what would be expected for a busy restaurant on a Saturday night.
The food itself was fantastic and makes me want to explore everything on the menu. The service was extraordinary as with our server never leaving us feel neglected, and was very attentive to the timing we wanted our food to come from the kitchen.
