About Imoto at Buccan
Imoto (little sister) is Buccan's version of an Izakaya. The Japanese Izakaya's were traditionally down-to-earth gathering places to go get a drink and something to eat after work. Imoto Room is an extension of Buccan's small plate - big flavor concept with Japanese and other Asian influence. The menu offers items ranging from innovative sushi & sashimi to Clay Conley's interpretations of other Asian favorites.

Imoto at Buccan Ratings and Reviews
Had very high expectations for Imoto, but came away with my expectations clearly not met. The cocktail list was very limited and the saketini was undrinkable. Not a balanced martini. The main problem that I had of the restaurant was that it was way too dark. I didn’t have a problem with it being dark but you should remember who you are serving when thinking of your ambiance. Since the restaurant is located in West Palm Beach that has a very older demographic, my entire dinner experience consisted of being blinded by the very older guests sitting next to us using their cell phone light just to eat. It was very rude however there was no manager around to even discuss the situation. It is also a very small restaurant and is very loud with no sound barriers. The service was very generic and not welcoming or engaging. Food was fair at best and there was a very limited menu for sushi rolls. The spicy tuna roll was lacking flavor and seemed like there was filler in the mixture. I have high expectations of sushi bars as Nobu is my go to sushi bar. I thought this restaurant would live up to its name and have heard great things of Buccan but was not satisfied after leaving. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Chef Conley needs to correct the many issues that plague this restaurant.
Quiet little cozy spot for sushi. The sushi wasn't anything to rave about. We tried the seared bluefin toro that was about $14 per piece, and for the price would never order it again. The wood fired fish from the grill is the best bet when ordering. The duck tacos were pretty good but I've def had better. For two people including tip I spent about $150 and not including alcohol drinks--- probably wouldn't go back again. The sushi rolls were nothing special
Food and service was great! Our food was delicious but took a long time to come out. Our server came over to apologize for the delay several times. At the end of the meal our server reduced our bill for two of the small plate items we ordered. My wife and I thought this was a nice touch and a sign of a good restaurant.
Tried Imoto, as we find Clay Conley's other restaurants too crowded & noisy, and this one has much less of a hype... that being said it has the creative kitchen that CC is known for, but hands down the most amazing sushi around - of course, its also the most expensive sushi around! The other dishes were wonderful as well, but the sushi was quite special....
Bar was OK, service was very good, but the food was well worth the visit. Off season is a great time to visit for a special evening of fantastic food....
Great spot for sushi... and other things. We ordered a lot of different things..duck tacos, kimchi fried rice, salmon tartar, mushrooms, 3 sushi rolls, and 2 pieces of nigiri for 3 of us. Waitress thought we perhaps under ordered but we still took a few things home. Excellent rose wine and Monday was half priced bottles. All fabulous but pricey.
Excellent cocktails and amazing food. Superlative service-the hostess was very sweet & accommodating even thought we were late for our reservation and our table service was perfect despite the fact the restaurant was full.
The cauliflower was amazing. The fish was solid but not incredible for the price. I ordered one piece of 2 types of nigiri. They served and charged me for 2 of each. They did correct it but I heard the table next to us discussing that they had been charged for too many drinks. I find this bothersome. Overall the food is good but the prices for what you get are too high. Echo is a much better value in my opinion.
A lovely Sunday evening dinner. I was craving good sushi, a cocktail and ambiance and this place delivered just that. My server (Ashley ?) was great, fun, knowledgeable and attentive. She even made sure I had plenty of the shiso that I love so much. I'll be back.
Excellent food and services! Pleasantly surprised we were able to order off Buccans menu as well as their menu. Drinks were great as well. Loved the pork tacos and hamachi! Powell our server was excellent!! The hostess Chelsea really took care of us!
Excellent and will be back soon!
The food was absolutely exquisite and our server was helpful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional.
It's a hit for my wife and me each time we go.
The 'sushi happy hour' deal is also very attractive, as long as you order before 6:30 on weekdays.
It's been awhile since I made my way to imoto. Much to my surprise the wait staff remembered me and all of my preferences. Paul is especially good. The food was excellent! The hamachi appetizer was amazing. The light ponzu sauce only enhances the fish. I'll make sure it doesn't take me so long to return!
Food is not bad however, the noise level is so incredibly loud that you cannot maintain conversation with the individual(s) at your table. My boyfriend and I had our very first dinner date here and figured we would revisit at our one year mark and quickly regretted it. You cannot have a quiet/romantic evening at this establishment. If you are looking for something loud and packed, this place is for you. Not a bad place, just not my speed. Will not be returning.
