Imoto at Buccan
It was a great experience , but food was a little too spicy.
Food was excellent, waitress wasn't polite or willing to give more information.
Actually switched to Buccan that night because my table was not ready at Imoto. The manager let a couple in with a dog. He asked if it had papers but never asked TO SEE the papers. It was one of those suspicious "service dogs". Anyway, we had a good meal at Buccan and ALEX was a very fine server. I would ask for him again. We tried 2 new dishes, the lobster pasta, and the warm Brussel spouts. They added a few new desserts. This restaurant never disappoints.
Great food...cool vibe
As good as any NYC sushi restaurant
Food was wonderful, especially the cruda very fresh and well prepared. Great bartender
Excellent service. Delicious food. Love happy hour prices. More quiet than Buccan. We always eat here when on island. Thank you all. CML
The experience was horrible. We reserved a table several days in advance and when we arrived they did not have a table because they oversold. They ended up seating us at the sushi bar sandwiched between other people and explained that it was acceptable to do because our reservation does not guarantee a “table.”
So, so, so good! Food is amazing. Good wine selection too. Special Tuna Nigiri is outstanding. As is everything I have tried there. Rock shrimp tempura - yummy! And don’t skip delicious coffee and Proper Ice Cream. If you haven’t tried this ice cream, be prepared to be blown away.
Everything about the restaurant was fantastic. Our server, Grace, was well informed and fun to interact with.
Excellent food,great service
I love Buccan next door and perhaps I love Imoto at Buccan more. So in my next sentence I hesitate to share with the world that Imoto is that hidden gem in plain sight. My husband and I enjoyed the more quiet vibe as compared to the mad house next door this last Saturday night. Service and food were excellent. The star items we savored were the kimchi fried rice - comfort food in a bowl - not too spicy and not too "kimchiy"; the hamachi kama was to die for and I have had few of these in my lifetime - perfectly cooked in the wood oven and a generous portion; then the tuna foie slider with mango salsa - what more can I say - delish, beyond delish; and if you were to have one last nigiri ever, how about the deluxe seared bluefin toro with foie gras, momji, and oestra caviar? Oh did I forget the Tuna Tataki served with shimeji mushrooms - umami heaven! Like I said, hidden gem in plain sight.
Great food in this trendy Japanese hot spot. Don't turn up early though, as you are always made to wait for a table. Bar is noisy. Food arrives as it is cooked, so order with this in mind.
Young, trendy place in Palm Beach. Food was excellent, with fresh and inventive sushi and other pan-Asian dishes. Duck tacos were amazing as was the cauliflower dish. Very accommodating for gluten-free diet.
We sat at the sushi bar and said " surprise us" they outdid themselves!!
Although sushi rolls were good, everything else was only so-so. Not necessary to repeat.
Our waiter was tremendous. He was accommodating and thoughtful. We brought our 2 year old (they had a high chair) but this place would be best as a date place.
The configuration of the tables is awful. Not ideal for private conversation
We love Imoto! My husband and I have been going to their sister restaurant Buccan for years and decided to try Imoto.
The food is superb, fun atmosphere and extraordinary service. We always love having Powell wait on us.
the noise was overbearing!!! food was over prepared, except for the sushi/sashimi. too many ingredients on the duck, and the pork bellies ruining the flavor.. skipped dessert due to the noise levels. service was better than average.. will not go back!
Really great food. House saki excellent
Brought two new people, and they loved the selections. Ordered off both the Buccan and Imoto menus. Grace helped out and made sure the dishes came out as we wanted them. I appreciated the table being ready for our arrival. We were a table of four. I often dine here and love the selection and consistency of quality.
We enjoyed Imoto the minute we entered. Great ambiance with great food. Would definitely return when back in Palm Beach.
Good fresh sushi and sashimi. The seared yellowtail was terrific. You can also order off of the Buccan menu..nice plus there.
The duck tacos were not as plentiful or tasty as the many others we ordered in the past. One had almost nothing in it. The shrimp was very good and served hot. I dine here very often so just caught a rare off night. It was early and the place was not very busy which is unusual.
This was our first time dining here (we've been to Buccan and Grato). We were able to snag a really early dinner reservation, which worked out for us since the waiter was able to help us with our drink choices and let me sample a few wines. It was also quieter but as the night got later, the noise level grew.
The waiter had excellent food suggestions and this is what we ordered:
- Peking Duck Tacos: delicious, but not the highlight of our meal. The breading the "tacos" came in were quite unique.
- Tuna Tataki: delicious - esp if you are able to get every piece in one bite.
- Hamachi Kama: very yummy if you like juicy and fatty fish. does require some effort to eat as you have to pick at the fish.
The nigiri was our favorite part of the meal. This is what we ordered:
- Tuna (special nigiri) - delicious
- Bluefin Toro (special nigiri) - this one was ok. I felt like the added ingredients took away from the taste of the toro
- Salmon (special nigiri) - delicious
- Seared Yellowtail (special nigiri) - delicious
- Uni - Had the BF tried it and he said it was good (it was his first time having it)
- Bluefin Toro - YUM
- Salmon - YUM
- Yellowfin Tuna - YUM
We would definitely come back here again, but be prepared to shed some serious $.
As always best Japanese Food in S Florida Bar none
We love it there! Great food and great service!! Fun atmosphere. Love the sushi bar.
Best meal in Palm Beach. Food is delicious and best flavors and spice you will find. We love it
The food is always delicious, but this restaurant still suffers from an erratic kitchen, where food "comes when it comes" and service that can be spotty. Our waitress disappeared for long intervals on Christmas eve (more water please) and failed to mention that the NZ sauvignon blanc I ordered was a whopping $20 a glass. Anything over $15 a glass in a casual restaurant like this should be noted. My bad for not reviewing the wine list before ordering as it added extra $$ to a check that was already on the high side. I will go back for sure but be careful when ordering wine... and pray for a good server.
Grace did a great job pacing the 6 dishes the three of us ordered. The new spareribs(different from last year) were delicious. The mushrooms and green beans were so good we ordered a second plate. The rock shrimp and the duck tacos are my favorite. We always start with edamame as a fun plate to share. It was a good place to spend Xmas eve dinner.
We had sushi and ribs. Food/drinks/service great.
The best sushi in the southeast! The crudo, the nigiri and the kimchi rice, in particular, were all outstanding!
Sushi was as soft as butter
Great selection and quality. Our server Powell was outstanding. Excellent suggestions and attitude.
Love this place! Service, food & ambience great.
Best Japanese in at least PB County. Happy Hour one of top 3 or 4 around, and there are a few good ones.
Really really simple...wonderful food...great energy
Very nice total experience. Complimentary valet parking was convenient and friendly. Greeted warmly as we walked in and taken immediately to our table. Decor is modern and interesting. Wait service helpful and efficient.
Food was very good overall. We especially liked the Peking duck tacos and tuna tataki. Special nigiri also excellent. California roll was okay, but not special, wouldn’t order again because the other stuff is more creative.
We will definitely return the next time we’re in the Palm Beach area.
We have been big fans of Imoto and especially like the young and friendly waitstaff. But we were really disappointed with the quality of the food this time - the sushi roll was literally slapped loosely together and each piece fell apart immediately when we tried to pick it up. The duck tacos, usually a favorite, contained subpar duck meat- more scraps, really - ..I couldn’t finish mine. We will be back to give them another chance but don’t let your game slip, people !
