IM Tapas Ratings and Reviews
We dined last year at IM Tapas and really enjoyed it but really kind of forgot about it. We decided last minute New Years Eve to try it again and it was outstanding. We had the beet salad, the stuffed squash blossom and elk tenderloin and each were very special. The elk tenderloin was one of the best meat dishes I have ever had and I generally am not a game eater. We decided to splurge on dessert and were glad we did; we had a wonderful gelato/chocolate “cube” treat that was unusual and delicious. We enjoyed very attentive, knowledgeable wait staff. The setting is very quiet and peaceful; you can actually carry on a conversation. Would highly recommend in a heart beat!
This remains one of our top three favorite restaurants in Southwest Florida, and this latest visit proved the point. Despite its oddball location east of 41 and almost hidden exterior, the food remains exceptional in taste, quality, and creativity. Still batting it out of the park.
We so enjoyed out meal. We had the mussels, the duck, empanadas and the octopus. Everything was delicious! And also loved the bottle of white wine from Majorca that we ordered. I think it was called Sio. If you enjoy tapas, or a tasting menu then this place is for you! Looking forward to returning.
Isabelle and Mary are great chefs and hosts. Party of 4 ordered 8 different tapas and 1 dessert and left completely full and very satisfied. Each dish was different and very tasty. Server knew dishes and preparation. Server knew the wine list and each wine his recommendations were right on.
Love the Spanish music playing in the background.
We’ll definitely be back!
Once again we were provided with a fabulous dining experience at IM Tapas. The service is always perfectly attentive without rushing us. The octopus is one of the best dishes I have ever had. The salt cod croquettes are unique and delicious. The sea bass served with fried leeks is always fresh and absolutely wonderful. It continues to be one of the best restaurants in Naples.
We frequent this restaurant for its sleek modern interior, very good tapas and entrees. This time we tried the superb lobster bisque, tapas - mussels in a divine tomato broth, shrimp in garlic oil and pork belly entree. They were all so good we may repeat this order the next time we go. Great crusty bread. This restaurant has the best tapas in town, bar none. Nor do they charge if you want a second order of bread ... which is necessary to soak up the divine sauces.
Very good and creative selection of tapas that are well-prepared. Service is good, but the prices are on the high side for tapas. Double check your bill and your credit card statement: the amount IM Tapas charged my credit card was about $15 above what we paid in the restaurant!
One of the best tapas restaurants I've been to (and I've been to a lot of tapas restaurants!). The level of creativity in the food preparation and the menu is outstanding! Every dish is perfectly prepared with just the right balance of the spices and ingredients. And, the service is excellent. Isabel's culinary skills are amazing; she and Mary have a winning recipe for success with I.M. Tapas!
We're in Naples once a year for a family vacation, and on 1 night we go out for a date night sans kids. This is the 2nd time I've chosen IM Tapas and was thoroughly happy. I love tapas, I like sharing and trying different things. There are lots of very good restaurants in Naples, but this rainy Saturday night I wanted a place for excellent food in a nice atmosphere that wasn't a Scene in any way. IM Tapas is off the beaten track and I knew we'd be able to park right outside. Spanish food is a treat, we talk about visiting Spain but for now we had a glass of cava, a carafe of sangria, and a host of yummy nibbles. I love the olives, we had the squash blossoms and empanada specials, both very good. Then we had the stuffed artichoke hearts and finally the mussels steamed in a spicy chorizo and saffron broth. The mussels were my husband's particular favorite, delicious and yes, quite spicy! The artisan bread they serve along with a lovely olive tapenade is excellent, and worth the small additional charge for more bread to soak up the delectable broth (you would never want that to go to waste). We were quite full but being on vacation, and seeing that the night was still young, I wanted to try the rice pudding. We both enjoyed that as well.
We arrived on the early side (maybe not so much by Naples standards!), and since the dinner service was just starting the wonderful smells hadn't yet started to waft from the kitchen. It did, however, smell very clean, which is a super quality in a restaurant as far as I'm concerned. When we arrived there were only a couple of other parties but as the meal progressed more and more tables filled, a couple of them with larger family groups including kids. One of the owners came out from the kitchen for a bit to greet guests. She politely inquired how we were enjoying the meal and as she moved on to other tables it was clear she knew a number of them as regulars. This makes me happy, I hope they continue to do well!
As always, we enjoyed our dinner at IMTapas. We ordered five different tapas, four of which were delicious. We had the beet Napolean, chorizo in cider, gambas al ajillo (shrimps cooked in garlic), the fois gras and the morels. The only thing we didn't like was the morels, as they had very little flavor.
This was absolutely the worst restaurant I've ever been to. STAY AWAY, RUN, and DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!
The place is next to a massage parlor with blacked out windows and neon lights and ...well, you get the picture! The host acted as if we had not made reservations which of course we had. Then it took 10 minutes for them to figure out who our server was going to be! Then came the mix up of our order not to mention getting a spoiled bottle of wine easily over 80 degrees swapped for what we had actually ordered which they were out of!!!
Now on the so called Tapas...these people haven't a clue. I lived in Spain and can tell you this couldn't be further from the real thing. Every item was a disaster in form, texture, taste, AND price. At the end, the chef/co-owner (Isabel) came out to our table after hearing of the repeated scewups of our order just to blame it all on her staff!! Completely unprofessional behavior and absent of any decency. I would definitely NOT recommend this sorry excuse for a restaurant.
Great tapas, but our waitress forgot to order the cheese platter which I specifically ordered first as if takes 20 minutes to cut the artisnal cheeses. We had to wait some time for the platter, so double check your order when placing. The cheeses were worth the wait!
