Ilios Noche - (Rea Village Shopping Center) Ratings and Reviews
While food and service was excellent, our dinner was ruined by cigarette smoke smell from the outside. We were seated in front of the restaurant close to the front door and next to the windows and the cigarette smoke smell was strong. We could see there were people smoking outside to the side in front of the windows, Whether the smell came through the front doors or through the windows/ window wall is unclear. Will go back but request a table away from the windows.
Had lunch this past Saturday and was surprised to see the place almost empty. We. Ame for lunch because of the generous offering to Veterans. Buy an entree and the vet eats free. A very nice gesture.
While our food was very (Ilios salad with chicken and an Ilios pita with chicken) took 30 minutes to prepare. I found this odd since there were very few patrons. In any bet it was a very nice lunch. A big thank you to Ilios for honoring vets.
Food was very good as usual. Server was fine but bar service was extremely slow. We received our appetizers before our drinks showed up. My wife's coffee after dinner was stone cold. Unacceptable. They definitely need to do something to improve the drink/bar service. It really negatively impacted the whole evening.
Although the food was very good, the service was too fast. We ordered wine and the food was served within 5 minutes. When we ordered dessert, we were told it would take 15 minutes, which we said was fine because we could finish our bottle of wine during that time. The cherry cobbler came out in 10 minutes, and it wasn't hot in the center - evidently they took it out of the oven too soon - again trying to speed up our dinner. Then our check was brought while we were still eating our dessert. Just felt like they were trying to get us out as soon as possible. What I didn't understand is that there were still tables available, so I'm not sure why they were rushing us out. If the service had been less rushed, I might have gone back to try other dishes. But now it is off of my list of restaurants that I will go to.
Had lunch on Monday. Rather quiet in the dining room. We got our usual lunch which is an Ilios salad with grilled chicken and chicken oita with Greek fries. The food is consistent into presenatation and flavor. Ilios Service is always top notch. In fact they have the best server in Charlotte, Melissa who is a personable, professional and engaging person.
Great food...especially loved the beet and kale salad and the charred octopus appie! I had the rissotto and it was fantastic! Everyone ordered something different at the table and I had a bite of all...ALL were exceptional. I brought a special bottle of wine and the waiter gladly served from that with a corkage fee. Love this place!
This restaurant has gone downhill.
Bread dry and unappetizing.
The noise level was insane. Could not chat with person next to me.
Then a live band started.... very hectic and unpleasant evening.
Presentation of trout was bland. Taste ok.
Lobster ravioli sauce thin. Received oil then...We waited 15 minutes for the bad bread.
Had considered using them for catering Xmas party but now will look elsewhere.
This used to be a fav place to go for casual dinner.
Our waiter was great and was extremely passionately which could be a bit too much to handle. The overall was great. I would say they have the best octopus I have had by far. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family for special occasions.
Service was not on par. I was waiting for my friend to arrive, was seated but was not greeted by my server until my friend arrived...15 minutes later. Then I ordered a glass of wine and glass was barely filled...pretty weak when I'm paying $13 for a glass. Food was good but was disappointed in the overall experience.
My husband and I dined here for the first time in June, and shortly thereafter we moved to the area. Our first impression was spectacular- the service was excellent, the bartender made a great custome drink for me, and the food was delicious and different. So Ilios Noches was definitely on our list of restaurants to return to. This past weekend (September), was the first opportunity we had to go back since then. This time my husband and I brought our three young kids as well as two out of town friends. They seated us in a great area, somewhat secluded and away from the bar- perfect for the kids. However, the service was a bit slower than last time, the drinks not quite as good, and the menu was a bit disappointing. Some of the interesting dishes we saw in June were no longer on the menu (my husband loved the gyro and falafel last time), so it took us a while to find something we wanted to try. I settled on the lamb chops and they were excellent. The Greek fries were ok, but over seasoned. Others at our table enjoyed their dishes (crazy lasagna and salmon were both very good). Overall the experience was good, and I would still recommend this restaurant to others, but our experience just wasn't as special as the first time. I hope the restaurant decides to bring back more of the Greek/Mediterranean dishes to the menu, as I'm sure we will be back again.
I loved the food, service, and ambiance at this restaurant! Our server David did a fantastic job answering our questions and engaging in light conversation. The food and drinks were very tasty. I made a reservation ahead of time to ensure that my family would all be able to celebrate my 21st birthday with me without any issues, and they did a great job accommodating!
Ilios Noche was the perfect place to reconnect for a meal with friends. I am vegetarian and also have Celiac. There were so many great options for us all. Using Open Table was especially great because I was able to share my needs in advance and my waitress was prepared to help me navigate my needs. I plan to visit often and it's so nice to have a place with great ambiance, great food, and great customer service.
Food was amazing. We had a large group with a small child and service was great.
Very nice restaurant but also very personal feel. I would recommend to anyone
looking for a nice, comfortable place with delicious food but service is genuine
and attentive. We were celebrating a birthday on a Sunday evening. Noise level
was fine; we could easily converse without yelling. Cocktails were creative and
