Ilios Noche - (Rea Village Shopping Center) Ratings and Reviews
Arrived 10 min early for our reservation and after waiting 30 min and several status requests, we were seated. Our server was almost invisible, had no reaction when we told him our bottle of white wine was warm. Our food arrived cold and water glasses were empty most of the time. We’ve dined here 4 times now and service and food have continued to decline.
Have been there many times over the years & was one of our favorites. Last 2 experiences have been sub par with service & even the entree. Drinks were slow, food was not hot and bread came after we finished our meal. Waitress was non existent. Sad to say, but this may have been our last meal at what was once our go to near our home.
Love Ilios Noche, and have trouble ordering anything besides the lamb shank with orzo, one of the best dishes ever. Since last visit they've added a fabulous corvina dish, along with striped bass and some other fresh fish. We fortuitously went on a Tuesday, when bottles of wine are ½ price, giving an opportunity to try one I wouldn't otherwise order. Great all around!
The menu has been tweaked a bit to offer some combination lunch entrees. Looks good to me. My wife was not enamored with her choice. This was the first time she said the marinated chicken didn't taste like "real" chicken. For her it tasted glutinous, almost reconstituted. We never experienced this before. My choice chicken on pita seemed fine for me as were the Greek fries. Today it seemed that getting our cocktails took exceptionally long, not sure bar tender was working lunch crowd. Overall OK, but not the usual excellent food and service.
Ilios is a great place to eat any time! It is usually pretty busy so reservations are recommended. The staff is great! Everyone is friendly and polite. Great wine selection! Great food! It has gluten free options. I go there frequently and I am never disappointed. Love Ilios Noche!!
My wife and I like Ilios Noche. It is close to home and the food is always good. For an appetizer we had the calamari, which had two dipping choices. Both were delicious. For our entree, we both tried the salmon witih the giant white beans and found the dish to be delightfully spicy but not so much so that it overpowered the fish. The service was attentive and friendly. Ilios is a great place and a good value.
I really never leave a review as I think it is tough to operate a business and everyone can have an off day, but this time I feel like I need to for others. We went to this restaurant after reading reviews that food is awesome and service was declining. Our experience was exactly the opposite. The service was great, but the food was AWFUL, BEYOND AWFUL. No way I would recommend spending any money here.
Although my wife and I live in New York, we visit family in North Carolina during Christmas, a time that coincides with our anniversary. We have celebrated our anniversary at Ilios Noche the last two years, 2016 and 2017. Each time we have had the same reaction: the food is excellent but the service is only fair: ten minutes until someone took our drink order, another ten minutes until our wine arrived, another five minutes until we were able to order our appetizers, and another 20 minutes before they came. When this happened to us in 2016 we chalked it up as just a one time occurrence, but when it happened again...well, it is a pattern. But (again) the food was truly superb and we left happy/
Ilios Noche continues to be one of our favorite spots! The food is consistently good and fresh. The restaurant is loud and especially when there is live music. Service starts out good but seems to fizzle out. We asked for bread several times and never received it. Empty water glasses should never happen at a restaurant of this caliber..
We drove to Ilios Noche from Mint Hill- it was my birthday and I was looking forward to the salmon sandwich. Even though it is not on the menu anymore, the park road location will still make it for me. This time, our server wouldn’t even ask the kitchen to make it for me. I was really disappointed I didn’t get to eat that meal.
