Dinner on April 21, 2018 was great. To begin my husband and I shared the tri-color salad. We followed with the seared scallops over spring vegetables which were delicious. The tartufo was a perfect end to a perfect meal expertly timed and served. We look forward to our next visit.
Main dishes were very good but accompanying vegetables appeared to be frozen, not fresh.
My wife and I found this spot on our honeymoon, and we fell in love right away! The food is excellent, the service is great, and the atmosphere is wonderful! Don't miss out on an espresso with dessert, this place has literally the best espresso I've ever had!
We were very happy with the food and the service. Our table was quite near the storm porch and every time the inner door was opened we got an icy blast of cold air. In cold weather why not keep both leaves of the outer door closed? Just a thought.
Food was good...but there is a limited menu
The service was prompt and good. I told the person who greeted us that we were going to a show and they accommodated us. The food was tasty and portions adequate.
Great as always!!
Great experience as always. We were going to the opera and had a wonderful meal early enough to make an 8 pm curtain. I had the Branzino. It was fresh and well prepared. My husband had the chicken piccata. It was also very tasty but could have been a little more lemony. Service was prompt and gracious. Great experience all around.
The waiter who recognizes me is absolutely terrific. Gracious and inviting. Even served lemoncello to my guests and me on the house. Food great. Menu very varied.
nice place --- but very busy before theater times - some items $$$
Everything was adequate, nothing was special. The prices are reasonable and it’s a good place for low key dining.
Delicious food, good wine, yummy dessert and very friendly service. Thank you!
Glad to find a different restaurant for pre Lincoln Center performances. It was good, easy and not too noisy or crowded.
We chose the restaurant based on the reviews and proximity to Lincoln Center. Overall the experience was just ok, food was fresh but bland and prices were a on the higher end relative to he quality (as expected given the location). The service was very friendly and accommodating, we appreciated the attention our server Bianca provided.
Good moderately priced Italian restaurant in good location: a few blocks from Lincoln Center
Very gracious service, friendly, warm atmosphere. Very good food, varied menu and super homemade pasta.
Great food, subtle tastes and flavors, superb gnocchi
It was a little loud and a bit chilly, but other than that everything was excellent! Friendly, attentive staff and delicious food.
Food was just ok. Service was rushed & abrasive. Won’t be back.
Il Violino is consistently reliable for outstanding Italian food reasonably priced. Their seafood soup in tomato broth is great as is their braised lamb. Service great.
Slow night @ Il Violino and while service was good food very disappointing this time. We will be taking a break from Il Violino.
Good place before a show at Lincoln Center. Friendly staff. Food was ok, but appreciated the waiters care of explaining items to us.
This is a cute neighborhood Italian joint that's a nice departure from the super swanky power broker restaurants a few blocks south. Love the starters and desserts especially. The tables are narrow, so it's not a great place to take a large group...but it's lovely for an intimate dinner and conversation.
This continues to be a very nice spot with very good food, pleasant and efficient staff. Nice place for Lincoln Center dining.
Our server was efficient and sweet. Food was very good. We didn't have to wait too long to be seated. Always have a good experience here.
Delicious traditional Italian food in a pleasant setting right near Lincoln Center. Perfect for before-theater or a long schmooze with friends over good Italian wine. We were so lucky to snag the table for four in the window! We certainly had that delightful schmooze and thank Il Violino for honoring our request for that spot. Lucky!
The staff was very friendly, the food was great and overall a nice place for dinner.
Gracious and efficient service, generous portions of delicious food attractively presented, a generous pour of wine for the price (and an excellent, reasonably-priced all-Italian wine list with enough choices to satisfy any taste). The prix fixe menu offers nice choices at excellent value (although we couldn't resist ordering from the full menu). The sidewalk-view tables are quiet, so you can enjoy your company as well as the food. All in all, an outstanding choice in the Lincoln Center neighborhood.
Always enjoy going there for Brunch, lunch or dinner prior to the Opera, Ballet or a show. The food and service are excellent. They make you feel so comfortable whether you are alone or with family or friends.
Coming in from the cold to IlViolino was a great treat
Had a delightful lunch before the ballet at Lincoln Center. The minestrone soup was an instant warming bowl of delicious. Our friends also enjoyed their frittata and salads. Love this place perfect for before or after anything.
Made post-half marathon reservations for brunch for 4. The restaurant is a perfect sunny spot for brunch or pre-theatre lunch or dinner. The prix-fixe was great - both sweet and savory options, great price and hearty portions. The staff was extremely nice.
Look forward to coming back before a concert at Lincoln Center.
I had one of my best meals in NYC here. Great food, wonderful service, and friendly staff. The food was perfect and delivered so quickly that I went to the restroom after we ordered and by the time I came back the food was ready! I have never been to a NYC restaurant that exceeded my expectations more than Il Violino.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner. I had the parpadelle with lamb ragu, with a great Sicilian wine. Salad was also exceptional. Others enjoyed the scallops and branzino
Service was warm and friendly!! Will come back
Great menu and service. Located very near Lincoln Center for a great before event dinner.
Delicious homemade pasta
Il Violino has a very nice menu and I will definitely go back. The food was nicely prepared and presented, and the service was excellent. I enjoyed the minestrone soup and the salmon with a mustard sauce. The tiramisu was delicious and the biscotti were wonderful with a cup of espresso.
Went for lunch and had the prix fixe lunch. Ordered salad and chicken marsala. Both were fresh and tasty. I would go back again.
As residents of the Upper West Side, we have a lot of options for Italian dining close by. None of them match Il Violino for the combination of outstanding food, friendly and professional service and neighborhood feel. Perfect for dinner Pre-Lincoln Center or before or after a movie. Always worth it to listen to the nightly specials . . . they have a seafood linguine in parchment paper that is to die for! Enjoy this local favoriate.
Really good dinner before Lincoln Center. Excellent service. Delicious pastas.
Our first time, but we will definitely return.
Very lovely place with good service. The pre-fixe lunch menu is a good value. Food is good. Close to Lincoln Center.
