Il Villaggio Ratings and Reviews
We had a very nice meal and the setting was charming. The salmon with pistachio crust was delicious. One at the table ordered scallops and was disappointed that there were so few on the plate but said they were well prepared. I would definitely go back again.
Been here several times and have enjoyed it, I held my last year's Holiday dinner for 20 here. This year it was three couples for New Year's Eve. No mention was mentioned on Open Table that they would be having a prix fixe menu, although that would not have been a problem anyway. The selection of entrees was good, came with appetizer and dessert, but I felt that $70 pp was taking a bit of an advantage of the occasion.
Everything is always delicious there. It was New Years, with a set menu. Everything tastes went smoothly, didn’t wait long to sit or between courses. Many if the choices were creamy, which was difficult for some with stomach issues, but they were happy to serve sauce on side. It was a lovely evening.
I’ve come to expect New Year’s Eve fixed price to be marked up, reheated and turn over the table. This was none of that... the choices within each of the 4 courses were awesome, so much so it was hard to decide, when the food came it was equally great, we weren’t rushed at all and for the quality ingredients and up scale nature of the 4 courses, considering New Years Eve, it was actually a reasonable value. Great job!!
We had dinner here on Christmas Eve. I normally do not dine out when there is a limited /fixed menu for holidays. I made an exception but wish I had not. While our appetizers were good, our entrees were less than adequate and tasted like they were pre-prepared and reheated. Only one of the five entrees was hot. The capellini with crab was prepared in much too hearty of a red gravy and pasta was swimming in it. The delicate crab and fresh tomatoes were lost in the gravy and the pasta was stuck together. Making matters worse, the entree was delivered luke-warm at best. My wife ordered linguini with shrimp and scallops in a white wine sauce. Again, it was warm not hot and not very flavorful. The rigatoni bolognese was served warm not hot and was just average. Minutes after getting our meals they were all getting cold. I’ve dined here on previous occasions and always had a great meal so maybe it was just a bad night. The waiter provided very attentive service but I wish the waiter would have kept the below average plates in the kitchen rather than delivering them to the table. This restaurant is getting too pricey to have average to bad nights as most of our entrees costing more than $30 and apps/salads costing $12-14. Not a great experience.
First time here and will not be last. Cold rainy night and was greeted very friendly and led to a warm room with a romantic fire. Our server was excellent and represented herself very friendly and professional.
Had the bringing special and wife had salmon special. Both were excellent and served perfectly.
This was a perfect evening. WILL BE BACK!!.
Have Always had great meals at il Villagio since they opened. Service is always attentive food is always good. The salmon imperial special a salmon filet stuffed with crabmeat was exceptional. A great restaurant, atmosphere, service and very reasonable price.
first, the the food is excellent.
we are a gorup of friends from NE Philly, S Philly and Mullica Hill. Il Villaggio is centrally located. it is a BYO so we were able to bring our favorite wines to dinner. the prices are reasonable and the food and service, ambiance are a great value.
we will meet there again.
This was our first time here and we were not disappointed- Service was friendly and swift, food was outstanding, atmosphere was very well constructed. Also, we were curious about a doorway that led to what looked to be another section of the dining room (and a giant chandelier), so the gentleman at the door was kind enough to show us around. Turns out, it looks like a great place to host a party / wedding! And there are multiple rooms too- all with their own feel and number of seats, and one of the larger rooms has an outdoor patio. We just got a great feeling from this place, so I recommend checking it out.
This was my third time dining at Il Villaggio and thought my family who had never been there would enjoy the same good experience I’ve had there previously with my girlfriends on birthday outings. Unfortunately, this was not to be. My Oyster Casino appetizer was very salty though my husband enjoyed his Cesar Salad and daughter enjoyed the soup special. My other daughter opted for no starter. Three of us ordered dishes that included risotto. Two Risotto Pescatore and one Scallops Risotto. The fourth had mussels which she found good. The risottos on all dishes was soupy and all dishes had scallops which were over cooked and rubbery and gray looking. Since I’m allergic to shrimp they were not added but all I seemed to have was too much calamari and scallops and nothing else in this “seafood” dish. Coffee and desserts were enjoyed by all. Our waitress and other staff were friendly and efficient. The ambiance was lovely. Everyone thought the food was “okay” though my husband said he would not be back.
