Il Villaggio Osteria Ratings and Reviews
Had a date night and loved everything about it. The bar service was exceptionally good and the drinks were perfect. Dinner was amazing and the portions were huge! I would recommend that you have the cheese platter as an appetizer! Definitely will be going back!
We had the fried sardines. They had a light crust and were very tasty. I had pasta Norma, a most delicious light tomato sauce with small chunks of eggplant and fresh pasta. The sauce was sweet and light, similar to one served at a small monastery turned hotel outside of Florence. The chef, Serge, was kind enough to come to our table and discuss the preparation. We also had frutta da mer. Delicious! And thanks to our waitress Kari. She made the evening even "more better." A must when u r inJH.
Kids running around the restaurant including inside the hostess stand. Loud and obnoxious and not being monitored by restaurant staff or parents. Server was indifferent with no personality. Drinks were ordered and excessive amount of time elapsed leaving the drinks watery. Loud.
Will not go back.
A very disappointing experience! I ordered the pasta with eggplant. In my meal were( 2 ) 1/2inch X 1/2 inch cubes of eggplant and 1 eggplant skin among cherry tomatoes and pasta-disappointing at best. The pork dish my husband ordered was dry and tasteless, not to mention expensive. Our arugula salads had 2 small shaves of parmesan each and were so dry we needed to flag our server for more dressing. Our bill was over $100 and was a meal we were most disappointed in. We did NOT enjoy this experience and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. Thank you for the opportunity to let others know our dissatisfaction.
We stopped in after traveling all day from the east coast to Jackson Hole. We were not that hungry as we had a late Lunch. Had a bowl of pasta and a bottle of wine from the wine list. It was great. We went back a second time, had a salad and a steak. The salad was only ok but the steak was prepared well and very flavorful.
I love this restaurant and have eaten there before and always enjoyed it. But the food was a disappointment the other night. There were 4 of us. Two had decided on an entre when they ere informed it was not available, which was a disappointment to them. My pasta was ok- but not up to there standards. And my husbands was undercooked. Our guest's Fruit de Mar did not have the flavor it had before.
All in all -again disappointment
Osteria never disappoints. Always great servers with great wine selection. The Pizza is outstanding, and all pastas exceptional. The music can be a bit loud outside, but maybe because I am 50+. We love Osteria, and I would go if there was a mariachi band playing next to my table.
Main course order was forgotten. When reminded manager comped that course. When they finally arrived food was cold - had been prepared in a hurry from chilled. Manager comped the whole meal and we walked out. (Manager did the right thing and generally looked like a nice restaurant but this was a bad experience).
Osteria is a delightful restaurant tucked away in the Terra Hotel in Teton Village. Great deck and views of the ski slopes. Excellent and creative Italian cuisine with a bonus of having terrific pizza for kids as well as adults. Definitely try this restaurant ..
The setting is very nice. The hostess was quite pleasant. Our waiter was engaging and professional. The menu had so many delicious sounding items that it was hard to choose. Our shared appetizers of Peach Crostini and Stracciatella e Strawberries were, perhaps, the very best that I've ever had. I wish I could say the same for our entrees. The Bolognese just didn't have enough umph, just bland. The Lasagna had a sauce that tasted quite acidic, I just couldn't eat much of it. Happily the Fusilli was good. I don't know if I'd recommend the restaurant to a friend.
The waiter delivered one entree but not the others. We waited. Finally the manager came to say that the kitchen had made a mistake and it was entirely their fault. He offered appetizers but we had already had them. While we were happy to have the one entree returned and all of the entrees delivered at once, it might have been nice to comp the appetizers we already had. However, fessing up to the mistake and offering an apology was nice.
Wonderful anniversary dinner before a concert. Offered complimentary glass of sparkling wine when they learned it was our anniversary. Outside tables were reserved even at the time of our early reservation, but we didn't know to ask for them in advance. Next time!
Usually the food here is very good; I had the baccala (salt cod) and it hadn't been sufficiently rinsed off prior to cooking (this is a prerequisite) so it was very salty. I was offered another dish but decided to go with the too-salty cod. Probably a poor choice......certainly won't order this again or recommend it. Otherwise a good meal. We do like Osteria.
The food was excellent but service was terrible. Our waiter poured us water and brought bread without taking our drink orders. He then proceeded to translate the menu like we'd never eaten in an Italian restaurant. We placed our food and wine order at the same time and after waiting for some time our side order of Brussels sprouts arrived before our wine or entree. After we were halfway finished with our entrees our waiter came to check in but buzzed off before we could order another glass of wine (our glasses were just about empty). I would give this spot a second chance because with the proper service it would have been an excellent meal.
We had eaten at il Villaggio Osteria two years ago and the food was outstanding. This time was a disappointment- it seemed the menu had changed and the food was not as flavorful. The lasagne was skimpy on meat and did not have the richness expected. The fettuccine with mixed beets was bitter- as in cooked too long. So- the expectations from two years ago were not met this time.
Good location in Teton Village- basically, if you're staying there, or meeting people there for an event. It has a casual, dressed up bar/diner like atmosphere. Our server was very attentive, and efficient. We shared salads, had pizzas, risotto and a pasta dish, and a dessert. The pizza was fair, and the pasta dish and risotto were good.
With reservations, we were seated in a cramped banquette with a wall on one side, and and a small amount of space on the other side next to another table. Ask for a table.
Ok... waiter was new but very caring... however he miss timed our order, through admission, so we waited too long for our dinner... dinner was not as good as I remembered... arugula salad was under dressed, pasta bolognase was too el dante... my side of fennel apple was too greasy and my meat too rare... think it all due to trying to get the meal out because we had been waiting for awhile... will go back and expect a better meal like the ones I have had there before ... for some reason the evening didn't align tonight...
Osteria is amazing. It's more than just the food, ambiance, location or service; It's heart. I have been part of the construction crew that has been charged with the Hotel Terra/Osteria remodel. During my tenure dealing with this remodel, I've been working alongside the Osteria employees as they prepared for the reopening, as well as their day to day operations after they reopened. I've never been so amazed by any group of people before. From the beginning, the employees were happy & enthusiastic to return to work. Everybody gets along like they're all the best of friends. I've worked in the restaurant business in many capacities, from janitor to busboy to manager. I don't know what the secret is, but the management of this restaurant has something figured out that most businesses will likely never understand. Their really aren't words to truly describe it. We ate their to support them on their re-opening night. Perhaps I shouldn't say this, but they comped the entire meal for us and gave us one of each of their outstanding deserts as well. I certainly didn't expect this just for being someone who worked on their remodel. I just wanted a nice evening out with a coworker and our significant others, as well as supporting the business that hired us to work for them. Instead, I was treated to a fantastic meal on the house. Mind you, I'm not saying go there and expect free food. What I am saying is go there and expect to be amazed. This restaurant runs like a well oiled machine filled with happy employees who want nothing more than to keep customers happy and eager to return. Perhaps they're not doing it for the money. Perhaps they're doing it because they're a genuinely happy group of people who want to just share the love. Whatever it is, it's amazing. No trip to Jackson Hole would be complete without enjoying a fantastic meal at this wonderful restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Service was prompt but we felt very rushed. We were halfway through our appetizer and the main course came. It was very awkward as there was no place to put everything so we had them take appetizer away before finished. Also right after desert was served, we were brought the check. In and out in an hour..... disappointing.
